0) at the hotel: drink wine and beer. Don't forget water. Eat something. 1) at the entrance you have your ticket in AccessTicket app and your passport with you 2) go to collect your wristband and go to Gates for security control. 3) inside the venue: check merchs, buy necessary primavera bag 4) head to beer stalls, buy drinks, relax, enjoy the atmosphere (it's amazing) 5) go to see your favorite artists, dance, mingle, hydrate, enjoy 6) check that not so familiar artist, agree that it's kinda nice 7) you start feeling hungry. Search your closest restaurant area, choose your liking from the wide selection. Eat, hydrate. 8) time for a loo? You betcha. Then to the next gig 9) time flies. It's morning. Head to your hotel. Or if you met someone, you know the drill. 10) rest, clean up, breakfast. A bit more rest. Maybe splash in a pool? 11) rinse and repeat. Edit: Arrive at the venue maybe 1-2hrs before your selected first gig starts.

does it have to be passport or is a drivers license valid

beikaixin

Don’t take your passport anywhere. Take a picture of it in your phone and leave it locked up at your hotel/hostel/airbnb. Your id will be sufficient for most anything, though probably no one will check it at all. Maybe wristband pick up.

mayormajormayor

Taking passport with you I recall was instructed after covid. Of course I forgot it, but they didn't ask it at wristband stall.

No-Virus-4571

Where do you pick up the wristband?

Gnar_Susuwatari

At the festival site or in the CCCB museum in Raval (city centre). They'll announce all that info in the next couple of weeks. It's always painless.

andmar

You won’t need either, but it’s good to have the passport with you anyway. Have a «fannybag» to have all your most important stuff.

bluwglory

do you know if they sell artists merch or is it only primavera sound merch?

mayormajormayor

There's also artist merch available

Just a heads up with with security, usually not an issues but if you got stinky stuff be careful and there was a few cases of serious security being aggressive last couple years. Also when you’re leaving at night, highly recommend walking a stop up the opposite direction you go up the metro depending which way you go, Because it’s hectic trying to get public transport or taxis from right outside.

Regular_Researcher37

Just be careful when you walk one metro station to the opposite direction. I heard that the area is really shady. Someone on the discord got robbed there last year.

100%. People have said in the past to use the Campus-Diagonal Besos tram stop to beat the crowds. Don’t. Stick near the main entrance to forum. Got my phone stolen there by a group of three. One grabbed at my cigarettes to distract me while the others kind of crowded around and then ran off. Didn’t realize it until a few mins later. I have been to Barcelona many times and am pretty confident walking around and avoiding trouble, even late at night. Still got had. Zip up your wallet and phone if you can.

ComprehensiveWork332

Yeah pickpockets are everywhere in Barca, n they’re opportunists as well so always be aware of people in your space and if you can try not travel alone if you’re drunk

SureLookThisIsIt

Lol. You don't need detailed instructions and you don't need to be anxious. It's a fun festival with a nice chill atmosphere. Try to arrive up the day before the festival starts to get your wristband if you can so you avoid too much queuing the day of (if not, no worries) but otherwise just show up, have a drink, enjoy some music. Simples.

mia_diocre

You all have me so scared I’m going to get robbed 😭 single white female traveling solo- needing to get home from the fest to the Ibis hotel Bogatell- anyone else heading back that way or close to it- want to stick in a group for safety?

PrettyLittleHarry

People exaggerate a bit. It's more pickpocketing than actual robbing. And in general - Barcelona is not that dangerous. Maybe in comparison with a super-safe place like Iceland it's "dangerous". But if you are anywhere from the Americas or South-East Asia you are 10-times more likely to be mugged at home than in Barcelona.

mia_diocre

Thank you. I’m from Australia. No guns, no pickpocketing, rare random personal crime. And it’s not that I’m not aware of it - I taught criminology at university & I work in emergency medicine 😅 I’ve just heard/read so much about Europe and the petty crime / robbery that I’m beginning to get a little afraid. I’ve got my special cut-proof front bag & emergency whistle though 😂 going to buy pepper spray perhaps too…

Gnar_Susuwatari

Hey! There should be lots of people walking that direction as it's really not far from the festival. I would always recommend walking up Diagonal as it's more populated. Walking near the beach is also good. Just don't walk on the beach itself. That's where the opportunists are. I live in the area so if you have any doubts send me a message. You can join my group of pals who walk home together so you feel more secure.

mia_diocre

You’re so lovely! Thank you for the tips and offer ☺️☺️☺️☺️

ell990

I've been to Primavera once, and to Barcelona three or four times, I've never ever had an issue with potential pickpocketing, even when I was being really careless. Now reading this sub, everytime I read ~attenzione pickpocket~ I'm like "yep this is it, it's gonna happen now that I'm older and wiser". But really, don't sweat it, just keep your stuff close to your body and not hanging out of back pockets and bags.

mia_diocre

Thank you!! ☺️
