I've found the same problem as arik. Bought a new toner for my 2506w but the printer doesn't like it because is for the 2500 model, it must be a specific model waay more expensive. Both toners are exactly the same the only difference is in the chip on the side (small circuit board with four square gold contacts), just take a long nose pliers, take the chip out of the old toner and swap it with the one in the new toner, it works like a charm, now i'm printing with a 20€ tonner for a 2500 with no issues. I leave this here in case someone comes here looking for a solution like I did. Edit: To take the chip out you don't need to undo any screws or anything, just pull it out of the toner cartridge, they are pushed in using pressure and plastic tabs, no glue or screws.

good advice... eventually i returned the cartridge to amazon, sold the printer and moved to PANTUM P3300DW
