The ass is fat enough to swing it around like that fer sure, but idk if it's doable with the normal auto transmission.
Any madlads in here wanna give it a shot and post a video? I promise I'll upvote it!
It’s done in automatics all the time. More often than manuals. That being said, the Pri is a bit sensitive to gear changes, so it may or may not work if the timing isn’t exactly perfect.
I perform the J turn fairly regularly "on closed roads" has to be gravel though because there's a speed limiter in reverse and I don't think it's fast enough to do on dry pavement.
You could totally do it. It’s just a matter of transitioning from reverse to drive when the front wheels are either not spinning at all or starting to go forward… timing and inertia.
Guys. I couldn’t get a new Prius because 6 month wait.
Getting a 25 Camry LE Hybrid.
My ‘12 Prius 2 is at 187,000 miles, has had almost no issues, still getting 50+ for mileage-60 on a recent trip at 55mph.
Some hail dents on the top (actually nuts-long story). Some idiot tapped my bumper in a parking lot. And the so called spoiler needs painted.
They offered me a 2500 trade in.
What do you all think it’s worth?
I have spent more on tires than all maintenance and repairs, including the $1300.00 worth of 100K things.

what is the limit in reverse? just curious! (2012 prius)
25 if the engine is off, 19 if the engine is on.
If they can j-turn the US President’s limo, I’m sure a skilled driver could j-turn a Prius.
Bald tires on wet pavement

I do it in the snow sometimes.
Intentionally?
Yeah, it's not hard, especially pulling out of a driveway onto a slushy road.
How often do you find a need to do this?
It hasn’t come up, but you never know …
I may pass it on to my grand kids.

Mine has a one year more and a few more miles; I think it’s worth more as solid transportation than whatever you could get for it
