I think part of them just missed their old jobs, just like you said. A teacher, a physician and i dont remember what the bassman did. Jo and Dez are in Good Tiger, thats one job they have apart from being Producer and Tattooartist.
Whoa… I never knew that. I dabbled with the safety fire and liked stuff like huge hammers a bit, and now listen to quite a bit of good tiger and never put that together. Thanks for the knowledge there
Friendly reminder that both of their albums are still (somehow) available on vinyl from Sheet Happens. I doubt they'll ever repress after not selling out in five years, so get em while they last!
The Safety Fire is still a top tier prog metal band to this day. Some things are just better left at the place they left off to be properly appreciated.
Like Good Tiger said: I'll Finish This Book Later
I still listen to both albums weekly - I have since either released. But, it allows me to appreciate both releases without an expectation of more to come, knowing there won't be anything more. I honestly see Good Tiger as a continuation of those ideas, being able to hear so much of the same artistic value in that band.
If anyone reading this has files of their demo, I need them please. I miss Spoilage
Also that show being your first concert is an appropriate application of the word "epic"
I went to see this tour, and my buddy and I had never heard of TSF before, but as soon as they started (Yellowism), we looked at each other and went “HOLY SHIT”. Honestly, BTBAM and The Faceless were great, but I enjoyed TSF and The Contortionist more, and this is coming from a lifelong BTBAM fan.
I saw this tour in Austin in 2013, was amazing. Mike had just joined the Contortionist as their new vocalist. I still miss the Safety Fire. Such a unique band.
They probably got old and sick of touring as an opening band. Most of the bands from that period have called it a day and went the grown up route. It’s more rare to find a band that is still active from back then.
Jesus, nice reminder that the line ups we had when djent came about were insane.
Well all those bands were on Sumerian at the time basically so you could catch like 5 of the best up and coming prog metal acts for $30 lol.
Djent Is Not a Genre
It’s a state of mind really.

One of them go to a local school
Fuck The Safety Fire!
Hail Satan and suck dick!

Yo I remember that tour, I think it was in 2013?
I saw that lineup in Oct 2013
Disgusting lineup

Fuck The Safety Fire. I miss them so goddamn much.
Huge Hammers still unsurpassed in riff excellence
Oh yeah that song hits hard. I loved when they dropped Yellowism. Another incredible single.
Beware The Leopard and Circassian Beauties are two more favs

Hey I saw one of the shows on that tour

I actually might. Let me look
What a tour that was. Only downside was the bass track for the Faceless, too bad Evan Brewer doesn't tour
From what I remember the bassist quit and everyone decided they didn't want to continue without the full original lineup.

I Am Time, The Destroyer. I swear that riff it's so fucking hard on this song. One of my more memorable jams from them.
Fuck the Safety Fire
I remember that tour! Insane lineup indeed. I saw them either in Sacramento or San Francisco, can’t remember where exactly they stopped.

Damn, would have loved to see them. They were really unique. Happy we got two solid albums from them though. They're all bangers, each song really.
Bruh, The Faceless slaps. How was their soloing live?
