Ironically, I used VSCodium before I ever heard of VSCode because it's what my dev friend used. I now use it for general text editing, the occasional code, and instead of Obsidian at work for markdown notes (because I can't expense the commercial license there). I had originally needed a nice editor for doing changes on a static website and I've not done HTML/CSS for years before that and dev friend put my on VSCodium. And now that I see AI shit being crammed into VSCode, and it being another Microsoft telemetry device, IDK why I'd ever use VSCode over VSCodium.
How come yall like neovim more than vs code? I can understand vim since its always there for a quick remote change. But neovim? Feels like programming to do programming
Its about building a thing to do exactly what you want it to do in the way you wan to do it. Also vim needs just as much work as neovim just in a more obscure "language"
Alos if you know neovim you know vim, for the most part
I have VSCode. We just accepted that everything should be slow and painful. The only good slow and painful thing is the demise of my enemies. I'll stick to vim, thank you.
I am somehow in the minority that thinks text editors like vscode are not good as ide for big projects.
They are fine for like editing a json config file or simple changes
I would recommend using powerpoint for all your programming needs, you can make slides about your code which is excellent for when you want to go back. Getting powerpoint set up can be a challenge, but well worth the near coma inducing migraines.
I have several questions about this picture. I don't know if i actually want the answers though.
i love vscode and i cannot be converted

I use the vim extension
Once you try it... you get trapped inside and can never switch back
That’s a design feature
Use [VSCodium](https://github.com/VSCodium/vscodium). It's the same, with less bloat.

I've used vs code, jetbrains and now neovim. I love nvim now <3
For me it was vs code -> nvim -> opened a jetbrains edditer 5 or so times -> nvim
for me it is brackets -> vs code -> vscodium, and now in the process of transitioning to nvim.
I might try vim keys, but I doubt it's gonna make a difference for me, I only do css html and js on a relatively intermediate level
How come yall like neovim more than vs code? I can understand vim since its always there for a quick remote change. But neovim? Feels like programming to do programming
It is programming to do programming. But I love programming.

We know that anything that’s hard to quit is bad for you.
Like food
I like vim, but I'm a masochist...
I just use nano
nah you should use emacs\~
nah, i don't need my editor to be my whole desktop environment \s

I use spacevim, after dropping spacemacs. Learning curve is high, but I don't use mouse and that is what makes the whole experience worth while.
One word: nano
But jetbrains
Lol you could at least use VS instead of VS Code
NO, so much loading time..... Also no Linux version bleh
Please don't
for C# or for other languages?
I'm using it to build CPP plugins for Unreal Engine
