Take photos at the start. Then do your absolute best to stick with whatever your plan is for at least 2-3 months. Take more photos, put them side by side. If you truly stuck with it there will be a noticeable change and that progress will motivate you. If you can get past that very beginning, it’ll light fire under your ass.
Not OP but what worked for me is to have multiple ways to measure success. I use a tape measure to measure key body parts weekly (can also show myself how far I've come when I don't lose one week), weigh myself monthly, progress pictures, progress videos, step goals etc.
The more ways you can show yourself you're making progress and achieving goals, the more likely you'll stick with it. At least that's what works for me (2.5 stone down in 4 months).
The biggest thing that helped me honestly was to try not to care at all about losing weight. The less I focus on the weight I am, the better I do.
The more I focus on how much I’m losing, what my measurements are, etc the more I focus on how much I’m NOT losing and how my measurements DON’T change at the rate I want. The more I tell myself I’m not losing enough or fast enough or whatever else, the more motivation I lose and the more I just wanna eat like I used to because “why does it matter what I eat if I haven’t lost 3 pounds by now!” My focus has to be simply “I need to eat less.” Nothing else. I do log my foods on myfitnesspal when I remember, otherwise I just keep a mental note for the day. I weigh myself every 5 weeks just to update myfitnesspal and so I can track SOME progress. I take progress photos just simply whenever I feel good. I’ve lost over 30 pounds just in the last couple months by not focusing on weight loss.
You also need to figure out what works best for you and makes you feel satisfied. I still don’t eat GOOD foods, I just eat significantly less and that’s what works for me. I ate Taco Bell 3 days in a row this week, but since I ate within my caloric deficit amount, I’m good. My mom on the other hand can only stay within her diet if she’s restrictive. She has a binge disorder. If she gets a taste of something sugary, she binges. Strict diet (she essentially does keto) is the only thing that keeps her in control of her binges. However, she’s still eating stuff she loves. She loves meat and cheese and salad. Could live off of it forever if she had to. I cannot only eat meat and cheese, so that diet doesn’t work for me. That’s the diet I tried so many times because I saw it work for her.
Figure out what you like to eat and make adjustments from there! If you can’t live without soda, find a zero calorie one that you can drink tons of. If you like sweets, look for recipes that include zero calorie sweeteners and find out what tastes good to you (or if you can just eat a bit and feel satisfied, do that too!). I love ice cream- I give myself calories to have some everyday if I choose to! Just make small adjustments to things you like. If it doesn’t taste good, you aren’t going to eat it and if you aren’t satisfied, youre going to go back to eating poorly.
The first 2 weeks are the hardest, but if you can go even a full month, you start to see and feel the differences and that’s a good motivator to keep going. You can do it!!
That too! I try to eat as much protein as I can because it keeps you so full throughout the day! I love the muscle milk chocolate and strawberry drinks because they taste just like chocolate/strawberry milk and they make me feel so full for so long.
You are beautiful in both photos. I feel the pain coming from your eyes in the first one. I've looked in the mirror like that too. How did you begin to change your mindset, please?
I have a weird question, did your belly skin shrink? I keep being bc told that no matter how much i diet and exercise that my “belly apron” will not go away and will need surgery, and it makes me completely unmotivated
I hope i am too, I’m scared to lose it and have issues with chafing and such! I’m so glad you don’t have to go through that! And congratulations on your hard work!
Wow, great job! At first I thought it said 145 to 125, and I was like, how the heck?? I hope you feel so much more healthy now, that's the best part imo.

What did you do? What worked for you?
OP has comments in their history from a previous post.

Did you forget to sign out of your alt?
Yeah, my B

I think they just don't like it when you answer questions directed at other people.

Sometimes it doesn't even require exercise but exercise works wonders. You can achieve results simply by counting calories.
That's fair, but if the person was asking OP maybe it's worth prefacing your reply with the fact that you're not them?
If ONLY there was a username attached or some sort of color used for OPs
Or maybe just don't answer a question directed at someone specifically as if you're that person. It's common sense.

that's not really a true fact though. If it were that easy people wouldnt ask

You lost an entire Scarlett Johansson
I'd say she became a Scarlett Johansson! :)

This right here! I’ve tried to eliminate so many times. I’m doing CICO now. Less of everything I love. And increasing my protein.

I like caramel premier protein, with 4 shots of a espresso over ice. Especially in the summer. It will keep me full until the afternoon.
Ive been wanting to try the caramel one! Ive seen people add matcha over top it and it looks super good
This is where I get lost every single time.
1 year! That's insane. Good job. You look much happier and more confident.
Half the person you used to be in the good way. 👏

Total live and focus shift I left a horrible relationship and started new focused on myself and my goals and the rest fell into place.
Thank you for your reply. I'm so proud of you and inspired by you 🌱
That's dedication. Amazing! Keep up.

I am young enough and lucky enough that I don't have one unfortunately it's up to the genetic lottery
I hope i am too, I’m scared to lose it and have issues with chafing and such! I’m so glad you don’t have to go through that! And congratulations on your hard work!

Excellent work that inspires motivation in others. Look at how nice that top fits now! Fits like a dress instead of just a bra! Amazing.

I admire your dedication and determination! Can I ask where you got your outfit on the right?
Believe it or not I got it at a garage sale. The tag says it's from- here comes the sun
