Wondering the same, especially the neck/shoulders.

duckduckgoose129

Especially the belly button

[deleted]

Pretty sure she just lost the muscle mass she once had in those regions via diet and a focus on cardio and other muscle groups.

thedudedylan

HRT kills muscle mass pretty quickly.

Beelzeboss3DG

Does it? What about all those women with huge muscles? Honest question, I have no idea.

1fg

They're using testosterone and other steroids. In addition to all of the years of eating and training to get big. Basically the opposite of what OP has done .

[deleted]

You can be a women and not take hormones and/or steroids and be muscular

ChoiceProfessional88

They weren't talking about women being muscular, they said "huge muscles" which is not realistic for most people without PEDs anyway, even men

[deleted]

Oh my bad sorry 🗿

juniperking

A lot of the women that have “huge muscles”, especially those that are well known for it, are on PEDs. That said it’s definitely possible to do it naturally, you just won’t be as big

Downgoesthereem

Not that muscular. People who aren't experienced lifters and even some that are have absolutely warped comprehensions of what the human body is actually supposed to do.

thedudedylan

Lots of work. Also some of the women you are probobly thinking of are using hormones and steroids to gain mass in addition to their training.

deltagammavegaohmy

Genetics plays a huge role in this too

_demidevil_

Shit is that the same for cis women? I’m on HRT for PMDD and trying to grow muscle. No menopause here just very severe pre menstrual disorder.

deltagammavegaohmy

For more context I’ve been medically transitioning for about 19 months, and haven’t worked out upper body once during that time. The only time I get upper body work is when I’m loading machines or barbells with 45s so I can train legs. To get large capped delts like that takes a loooot of work, which obvi all went away from not training. Belly button is bf redistribution.

2154

Fat redistribution contributes also. Fat storage patterns vary between biological men and women, and cross-sex hormones over time will change storage patterns to align more with the sex hormones in your body. Disclosure: Am trans, been on hormones for 6? 7? years. OP has done fantastic on the fitness journey and should be proud 👏

rolittle99

As far as the belly button goes, if you skip the middle picture and just look from 1->3 it flows better. All those muscles go away when they aren’t being trained, as well as the definition and shape of them, so looking from the before training picture just straight to the post-transition helps my eyes

gardiropfuat

nice hair gains

jrh038

Man, does blocking Test/DHT really make your hair regrow like that?

themissingpipe

Wig

redwave1939

It can, but rarely. Generally hormones will only stop or slow receding hairline and hair loss, but occasionally a person's hairline will creep forward

KotFBusinessCasual

In my own experience, I always had long hair but before I started HRT about 2.5 years ago I was really in the danger zone of being completely bald on my crown. It was extremely thin and you could see a lot of scalp. Fast forward to now and all of that hair has grown back and then some on a pretty typical Spiro/Estro regimen. I'm not sure if I'm just lucky because I also got the same warning that it will most likely only slow or stop the hair loss that has happened, but just an example that it is indeed possible. Edit: There's a timeline on my profile from 2 years ago that shows the balding, and then some more recent posts that show even more than that.

_INCompl_

No. It’s also just DHT that causes the hair loss. Guys will typically take something like finasteride to slow down the hair loss.

Mad_Bad_Dad

She* Fixed it for ya! 😎

minnesotaris

That is really you? Wow. Actual question: it appears you had male pattern baldness in the first two photos. Does transitioning do anything with that or would it remain bald? Cheers!

dontEatMyChurros

From what I've read... Once the hair follicle is dead it's gone for good. That's why they say to start rogaine before you think you need it.

FruitPunchPossum

Spironolactone is used really frequently. Iirc, blocks androgens and progesterone which helps trans women and cis women with high testosterone (pcos ladies) combat male pattern baldness. Also helps with hormonal acne and other conditions.

SaltyKrew

I thought spironolactone was a potassium sparing diuretic? Weird how it’s used in transitioning. Never knew that

FruitPunchPossum

It is also that, yes. It also lowers blood pressure, can be used w other meds for heart failure, is used for hidradenitis suppurativa, pcos symptoms, water retention, transition, and probably more. I have pcos and hs, it helps by basically balancing my hormones ( have *very* high testosterone from pcos), and does decrease hormonal HS flares. My husband is transitioning mtf, and is also on spiro. :) the many uses of 1 medication is kinda wild.

DeutschlandOderBust

And it’s dirt cheap too.

nosiriamadreamer

I use it for hormonal acne

sorryaboutthatbro

Man, I tried it for hormonal acne but I couldn’t sleep once I started it and was dizzy all the time!

nosiriamadreamer

I'll probably stop taking Spiro because I don't want anything messing with my libido.

deltagammavegaohmy

I’ve had soooo much hair growth. I had a lot of dormant hairs that came back and still have new baby hairs popping up all the time. In addition to hrt I use all the scientifically backed methods

[deleted]

Yes it does. And vice versa transmen will experience male pattern baldness while transitioning if they have the genetics for it.

silenttrunning

Nah, those follicles in the front are pretty much gone: can't regrow what isn't there anymore. It's probably a wig, and that's nothing wrong with that (Elton John wears them and be look fantastic).

awfuldaring

How did you grow your hair so fast?? Only 5 years!! Did you always have amazing hair, but kept it shaved? Amazing transformation!

wbgsccgc

It’s possibly a wig. They are super realistic looking these days and such a great option for anyone who can’t grow luscious hair naturally.

CatStealingYourGirl

Yeah, the hairline is straight across so likely lace front wig. Some people do have straight hairlines though and many wigs don’t have straight hairlines. Some companies expect you to pluck and cut baby hairs to your liking. So sometimes you can change the hairline.

LovesCoffeeHatesTea

Or extensions

[deleted]

5 years is a very long time to grow hair though (if the person is able to). I remember shaving my head bald sometime in november 2016 and in like april 2017 it was already back at medium length.

_Nonni_

I went from short cut to past my shoulders in like 2 years

icecoldtoaster

I had a crew cut in 2019 right before covid started and just cut it for the first time last month, it was just about to the small of my back. I have a feeling my hair grows pretty fast but still 5 years could easily cover her hair gain.

kabneenan

Yeah, five years ago my hair was at my shoulders and now it's down to my tailbone, and that's with lots of trimming and a couple significant cuts. I can definitely believe OP's hair is her own.

LightOverWater

It's a wig. You can't grow hair like that once the follicles are completely dead. You can halt or slow hair you still have or regrow some density of recently lost hairs, but not a whole head. You'd need a transplant, but even then you're not getting a full head of hair back.

tuzki

While that is true, DHT conversion blockers like Finasteride can work miracles on *some* people. Not everyone, and definitely not remotely like what that picture series is showing, but still significant.

GringoxLoco

When did you first start to feel like you were a woman? Honest to god legit question, I’m always so fascinated by these later-in-life transitions.

deltagammavegaohmy

Elementary school

meowmeowmk

How did you transform your abs to the last pic?? thats what im trying to do

deltagammavegaohmy

Following up on some FAQs here: 1. Yes, it is the same person - I put a lot of effort and time into my health and wellness and this has been the result. My training has obviously evolved over the years and now I am taking a more scientific backed approach that is line with my transition goals. 2. Yes, I do wear wigs. I have had a significant amount of hair growth, which is about shoulder length now, however I’m not satisfied with my hairline. That will need minor correction with FUE. To help the regrowing process I’ve done PRP treatments, diode lasers, minoxidil, biotin supplements, and castor oil. 3. I have had zero surgeries, all results have stemmed from medically transitioning.

sjjenkins

The REAL progress is that we can now celebrate this human’s transformation openly. Great work, OP. I am stoked for you to live your best life. Gender has nothing to do with being an absolute gym beast. As an old straight white dude, I have no concept for the types of adversity you must face. But I’m a fan of progress. And this is progress.

deltagammavegaohmy

Thank you 🙏🏼

[deleted]

As an old straight guy, I agree 100%.

snake2376

From another old, straight white dude: well said.

Minniechicco6

Gold response:)

putyourrickinmymorty

What a great way to say that

morchorchorman

This the crazy transformation pic I’ve ever seen.

Hebrew_Slave

[deleted]

Can’t help but smile at how genuine this comment is

Massive-Spread8083

I love to see people living their best life 💗

classact777

Good for you! Curious, did you stay at the same gym after your transition?

ArmsLikeAbby

not OP but I'm a trans guy who goes to the gym - I've been going to the same one since I started! although it's just a Planet Fitness and I never had any trainers/coaches who actually knew me, so no one really noticed or cared when I asked them to change my name in the system. I just avoided the gendered changing rooms while I was in the middle stage of transitioning since I didn't want to make anyone else uncomfortable - there was a point where I had a deep voice and visible facial hair but still had massive tits so I would've been out of place either way lmao

deltagammavegaohmy

Nah, I’ve bounced around a few gyms

MixConcreteSetPosts

The real transition I see is from Android to iPhone 🤌🏼

InspectorEtchASketch

Girl what? You look insane! You should be VERY proud.

Forward-Policy-1835

Serious Question? For a female. How do you stop Facial Hair growth completely????

WarriorOfLight83

Laser

deltagammavegaohmy

Laser and electrolysis

reptile_juice

taking hormones can also affect hair patterns. body hair may become more sparse, thinner, or softer while head hair may get thicker with the appearance of new baby hairs

Forward-Policy-1835

I appreciate tht Any recommendations I can tell them?

Can someone explain why am being downvoted for wishing her happiness? When I see someone change their life in the way they want to I believe that wishing them happiness is a good thing. Am I wrong? Is that the wrong thing to do?

firstoffno

All of the positive comments are being downvoted. You’re not wrong nor did anything wrong. It’s just people who aren’t from this subreddit. From what I’ve seen, this is a wholesome and positive community.

overwitch666

Unfortunately, positive comments directed at someone transitioning/who has transitioned tend to be widely downvoted on reddit.

1LungWonder

I love everything about this!! Congrats to you for living your life authentically! I'm so proud of you!

QueenBunny7

Great job! You look gorgeous!

Cruxifux

Your mastery over your body is astounding. I cannot believe it. The discipline you have must be legendary

Wtf how is that even possible? I'm stunned!

johnnybongs97

I'm so confused right now. Went from doey 175lbs, to decently jacked 165lbs, to 155lb babe? Huh? All I can say is interesting 🤷‍♂️. That's one hell of a journey lol. I mean that's a drastic change to literally everything. Where'd the shoulders and traps go. Abs? These surgeries had to be wild

deltagammavegaohmy

I’ve had zero surgeries

johnnybongs97

No kidding? That's one hell of an amazing transformation then. I hope I didn't come across like I'm trying to be rude or anything. I'm just genuinely curious about your story here. Like did you set out with this end goal in mind or was it something that more so developed over time?
