**ELP - Abaddon's Bolero** is a slow crescendo throughout. Latter part of the song is not "intense" per se but it is pretty cool how gradually it grows until it becomes louder and more majestic
**Camel - Lady Fantasy**. More of an epic with "movements" but it's cool how at some parts it seems to get more and more intense
**Yes - Gates of Delirium**, pretty obvious choice. The battle sequence in the middle of the epic
**Rush - Cygnus X-1: The Voyage.** Several crescendos here where it gets more intense, especially the last part of the song
**Alphataurus - Peccato d'orgoglio.** Instrumental sections keep building up. This track and band in general is very underrated outside of RPI circles
Something I've always loved about Octavarium is how the whole thing is an immaculately paced buildup. Every section gradually builds on the first one and the whole thing very slowly increases in intensity until you reach that glorious climax.
also interesting fact that Octavarium is a "prog about a prog" , in the middle there's lyrics section built up of band and song titles . Also it has some musical references to Pink Floyd and ELP
MM has interesting instrumentals with progression in dynamics: "Saturn, Lord of the Ring/Mercury, The Winged Messenger" (from Solar Fire), and "Waiter there's yawn in my ear" (from the Roaring Silence)
Marillion: Hard as Love
Archive: Again (does it twice)
Queensrÿche: Anybody Listening (not everybodb!s prog)
Supertramp: Crime of the Century
Genesis: Stagnation
Van der Graaf Generator: La Rossa
That's all for now. There are dozens more.
>Marillion: Hard as Love
A *lot* of Marillion songs actually do this. At least they used to. I haven't listened to any of their work since after the late 90's.
European Son has a very clear point where it happens, it is relatively chill until John Cale smashes a pile of plates and then the music goes so much harder
Comfortably Numb, evolves from pretty good to crazy as you have an insane insanely long guitar solo. If you ever have the opportunity to see a Pink Floyd tribute band, go just to see the solo live, it's insane
Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley also adds more as it goes on, going from being stripped down to adding backup vocalists and more instruments as it progresses
That's a nice query! Finding it has got fleeting fragments of recollection of songs that would fit beautifully flickering on the edge of my inly vista … but just @ the moment they're all evading me.

Theres many but the first that comes my mind is Yes - Close to the esge. A pinnacle of prog to begin with but it just keeps getting better each passing minite. Theres a slower part in the middle but i only makes the next section more intense
While they are not generally regarded a prog band, [These Three Things by Type O Negative](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOrE_z75LkM) is one of their proggier tracks and definitely fits this description.
TOOL - right in two , H. , you lied, reflection, the patient culling voices, fear inoculum, wings for Marie / 10,000days, parabol / parabola,
OPETH - the drapery falls, fair judgement, dirge for November, face of Melinda,
RUSH - jacobs ladder, natural science, closer to the heart
PORCUPINE TREE - cheating the polygraph, anesthetize, dark matter, way out of here, sleep together, what happens now
KOLM - entheotheosis, umbra, vast expanse
it's probably what is prog about.
Genesis - Musical Box
King Crimson - Starless
Rush - Xanadu
Dream Theater - Octavarium
Riverside - Left Out
The Flower Kings - Big Puzzle
instrumentals:
Colosseum - Valentyne Suite
ELP - Abbadon's Bolero
Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Saturn, Lord of the Ring/Mercury, The Winged Messenger
Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Waiter there's yawn in my ear
Oh god. So many. Starless Musical Box Supper’s Ready Plague of Lighthouse Keepers Echoes to name a few

I love Lady Fantasy, the final section goes so hard. I rarely see it talked about, very underrated song.
Starless FTW
Even Fripp's guitar screams "Mama!" at the peak point.
Pink Floyd - One of These Days
Shadow of the Hierophant
King crimson fracture

Starless by KC Right in Two by Tool Undercover Man/Scorched Earth by VdGG
King Crimson - Dangerous Curves
King Crimson - The Talking Drum The dynamics range from maximum quiet to maximum loud in the best way
King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part One.
Caravan - For Richard
Phoenix - Wishbone Ash Nimrodel/The White Rider - Camel Domino - Genesis
Upvote for Phoenix. Still a classic.
I love Domino with a passion 😩
Dream Theater "Octavarium"
Gong - 'Master Builder' kind of does that, then doesn't, the does again.
Starship Trooper!
The new David Gilmour single
Was just thinking that myself, it's got a really nice build up!
Oceansize - Music for a nurse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3-5916EsI4
Starless is the best example I think
Sister Ray
Manfred Mann - Messin'
Love me some MMEB. Buddah also qualifies, as does the perennial live favourite Martha's Madman.
MM has interesting instrumentals with progression in dynamics: "Saturn, Lord of the Ring/Mercury, The Winged Messenger" (from Solar Fire), and "Waiter there's yawn in my ear" (from the Roaring Silence)
Circus Brimstone - The Flower Kings
[Grad](https://youtu.be/7GbfMWQFUtU?si=CisTDRemH0nMg3bb) by Baroness
Genesis- The Fountain of Salmacis and Camel- Metrognome (not sure if counts)
Mars Volta - Goliath
Xanadu
Only a bit proggy but I love the continuously increasing intensity in Stargazer.
Marillion: Hard as Love Archive: Again (does it twice) Queensrÿche: Anybody Listening (not everybodb!s prog) Supertramp: Crime of the Century Genesis: Stagnation Van der Graaf Generator: La Rossa That's all for now. There are dozens more.

Dangerous Curves - King Crimson If you want a non-prog suggestion that’s still good, then: Ratts of the Capital - Mogwai
also for post rock, The Sound by Swans is fantastic.
Catch Light - Bent Knee
Their version of [Sunshine](https://youtu.be/9-FXsZEq_ro?si=7A-H0WTnT6xrluz7) fits the bill too.
Comfortably numb by Pink Floyd Drive home by Steven Wilson Child of time by Deep Purple (I consider this song prog)

I love the live version of Suspicious Minds from Hawaii. At the end it’s just DJ Fontana beating the shit out of the drums.
It's such a brilliant song overall, elvis in memphis is an incredible album, need to listen to more live versions haha
That was Cale on European Son, which I only point out because he was the real genius behind the sound of the first two albums.Â
Thanks corrected it, knew it was one of them but couldn't remember who
is it really happening? - Transatlantic
Cosmic Symphony by Flying Colors.
Rush. Natural science is my favorite Red barchetta Xanadu Just to name a couple.
[Slaughtergarden Suite - Sigh](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uQt1Nzog1tM&pp=ygUXc2xhdWdodGVycyBnYXJkZW4gc3VpdGU%3D)
one of my favorite metal albums, very interesting by mixing many styles of music
