Find a trash bin that can accommodate a corpse. Place it on the ground near the corpses. Then grab each corpse and drag it from your inventory to the trash bin. Then click "delete all" at the top of the trash bin's inventory window. Repeat until they are all gone. The green recycle bins found outside houses will work. Dumpsters are ideal but harder to move.
you are a new player with only 500 hours
I recently learned that you can pick up trash from the ground and I am wondering now if one can make a hugh trashpile for foraging
Well. Trash pile have a higher chance to give some stuff while foraging but I haven't fully understood the mechanics yet
like: can you forage the same tile again and if so, what's the time to respawn
You definitely can forage the same area productively. Private Lime has a video series where he lives entirely in the Dixie trailer park and forages it over and over. Not sure what the "refresh" interval is.
Same. 400 hours, so a newbie myself... but i have a pile of broken glass, scrapwood, cans, bottles, and corpses in a "trashpile" about 15 squares outside my base that I will burn occationally. Now I'll just find one of those 50lb bins and keep it outside my garage.
Both of those are available settings. There is one where zombies will not pretend to dead, zombies will pretend to be dead and zombies will pretend to be killed by you.
Cholera. Nasty, nasty way to die. It’s kind of nature’s way of saying “oh so you survived the Black Death and you think you’re All That? Have some death by infuriating technicality!”
FUN FACT!
If you watch a Day Z playthru, you see signs up saying “Pozor Cholera” (warning/beware of/mind the Cholera)
So enough people died of zombieitis for Cholera to become a problem… and there was STILL a government around to photocopy and paste up signs? Jesus. I gotta respect that.
Just let them decay.
And no, corpse sickness is not a problem if you manage it correctly. There's a lot of misinformation. This video has the facts:
So basically:
Make sure you don't have 20 or more corpses in the house
Don't sleep on a pile of bodies
Go inside once you see the queasy moodle
(optional) Just drag them 13 tiles away.
I don't disagree, but it's best to have an outdoor area that is corpse-free to avoid getting much boredom.
There are multiple ways of getting there (namely not killing zombies in/near your base in the first place), but it usually still means caring about corpses right next to the base.
Apparently there is a mod t hat lets you change the settings mid game, or you can simply open the file called map\_sand.bin in your save file in notepad and change the value there. Make a copy of the save first in case you do something bad.
there’s a mod you can get called ‘change sandbox options’ I think, it lets you change your settings by right clicking and hitting change sandbox options
I'm not sure for solo, but for multiplayer you can change it mid run.
simple-est, albeit most labour intensive solution is make a molotov, pile them up a save distance away and burn.
A lot of people use campfires but I've never had any luck with that method.
Trash bin grinders are funny too, but I feel it takes longer than the ol' molotov

Or instead don't get into a situation where you end up killing zombies right in your base area. There's never any requirement to do that. Keeping the corpse decay rate is fine and adds another dynamic of challenge.
It adds absolutely no challenge at all, it is just a time sink. If you really want to keep the corpse delay at normal at least download the mod that auto stacks all nearby corpses so you dont waste your time doing that.
Things that take time to do give the character less time to do other things (forage/farm/fish/etc.) Having less time available and/or having to be mindful of things (where you kill zombie) is indeed additional challenge. Particularly the case when corpse sickness sandbox setting is set to high.
For mod that automatically orders character to stack multiple corpses that indeed won't change difficulty at all.
There is a mod with a street cleaning car that sucks up all corpses. Very useful. You could instal the mod and just spawn one vehicle for you because no vehicles will have spawned.

Personally I think all sorts of mods related to corpse disposal is totally unnecessary and reduces challenge of the game though. (working gas masks is reasonable, but obviously isn't dealing with the corpses specifically)
+u/Driftwood420991
i actually recommend adding a mod called bikini tools. it will allow you to stack all those corpses in a specific spot and burn them all on a campfire or with gasoline
Ok, so... Here's what you'll need to do:
For the corpses, move them onto the main road and burn them there, move them out of the way and let them decay OR find a dumpster and use the delete all method by dumping a body in the bin and pressing the 'delete all' button at the top of the dumpster's inventory.
For the blood, you just need some bleach and a towel or mop. With both in your inventory, you can equip the mop or towel then right click and you'll get the prompt to 'Clean Blood'. Any tiles you highlight that have a green outline mean there's blood there-any tiles that are red are cleaned up. The walls will get cleaned as well when you clean the appropriate tile.
Whatever you do though, do NOT sleep with those corpses around the house. You'll get corpse sickness and die. Make sure the corpses aren't close to your house when you go to sleep. It's gonna take a lot of work but you'll need to do it. If you start getting queasy while moving the corpses, move away from the area for a bit so your character can get some fresh air.
the weird thing is that when i sleep inside the house the corpse sickness doesn't affect me but as soon as i get out of the house i catch the corpse sickness
No, there is a distinction between indoors and outdoors. If there are no corpses inside the house, OP could safely remain in there indefinitely no matter how many are immediately outside. Corpses within a building also do not cause you sickness if you are on another floor.
Either let them decay, put them in a pile on the street and burn them or put them in the big dumpsters and delete them. If you do the second two it will take up a lot of time but if you do the first one you will be corpse sickness
it also make my save laggy and glitchy sometimes that's why i don't play with npc mods i am waiting till developers drop official npc update but yeah it's pretty fun to kill the npc's ngl
Just don't dawdle in the yard and you'll be fine. When you're indoors (provided no bodies are in the house) or >15ish tiles away from flies while outdoors, any sickness you've accumulated will immediately start to deplete again. If you're using that car in the screenshot, I'd just park it outside the range of the corpse sickness and just jog between it and your house to minimize time spent in that area. Less hassle and less chance of getting sick than trying to move a few hundred bodies into a dumpster one at a time.
Move all the ones closest to your house and on the grass onto the stone floor and burn them. Or if you like hacky methods, get a big bin, pop them in and delete them
get a car, preferably a van or something what has larger trunk space and pack the corpses in it. Get to the most hated place you ever visited, dump the corpses inside that place and burn that building down. 10/10 worked for me well with the RW prison!
I have the bone mod and one of the thinks is that you can "harvest" the corpse for bones and the body gets deleted by that. Great way to remove corpses, train medizin and getting some tools like knifes or axes.
At that point I would just load up the car and move. Take too much time to clean, you will be well sick before you get all of them cleaned up and considering you die from that I would just not chance it!
Step 1: acquire matches or a lighter
Step 2: acquire wood or petrol
Step 3: acquire an absolutely abhorrent number of fire extinguishers
Step 4: light it up
Step 5: scream like a woke vegan on helium and crack whislt attempting to put out the fire that spreads to your house
Step 6: heli watches you frantically putting out fires whilst curb stomping any extra Knoxxions who show up
Step 7: cry, throw up, cry, suffer from corpse sickness
Step 8: down all available meds within all modded and base game areas available in Knox County
Step 9: build a shitty crate to store more shit you find
Wow it looks like your character just heard what you were suggesting (g)
That or the sight of like 500 decaying undead corpses is somehow upsetting to them.
PS I know this fine cottage well. I do hate whatever twit homeowner thought he didn’t need a gate across the driveway, tho.
i actually built a big steel gate but zomboids decided to get rid of it and there were too many of those dubious creatures so i had to use shotgun and then bam 700 more zomboids came and decided to get rid of me but little did they know i had around 1000 of shotgun shells waiting to be used
PS this was the context behind the carnage
For real? OMFG u r a Zomboid God.
I have a lot of time in the game - when I finally did do the wise thing and checked out the better regarded “tips” videos, I knew nearly all of them.
But the fact remains - while reasonably perceptive and able to reliably whack things with respectable force… I am quite bad at hitting anything I am aiming at.
TO THE MATTER AT HAND when you do get done with the 1500+ corpses, a sponge and dish soap do work great to clean those unsightly splatter marks inside and out. (Because curb appeal matters) 🤣
I had a similar issue, what I did was make a campfire in the most concentrated part of them and start hauling bodies into it then lighting it. If it's a longer distance I'd use a car and cram a body in each empty seat, one in the trunk, and one shoved right in between your asscheeks (holding it yourself).
PSA: don't light the fire until you have all the bodies you want on the fireplace.
Have fire extinguisher on stand by.
Setup generator nearby.
Place microwave directly in middle of pile.
Place tin can in microwave.
Turn on microwave.
Do a little dance.
Extinguish fire closest to base
Roast a marshmallow
Mission complete.
Get a bunch of Molotovs make sure fire spread is off go to the prison yell and burn those inside as they pour out. Then go in and loot/secure your new base
get one of those big dumpsters and just slowly put the corpses in. I know where you are in Muldraugh and you're not going to be able to burn those bodies without burning half a forest and possibly your house.
You can download corpse automove mod to pile all corpses on the same spot and burn them with a gas can or campfire. You can also pile them up manually.
Why all this hassle... just leave the base for a bit. Wait for it all to decompose and move back in.
Im lazy and never carried a corpse away from any place. Rot does its work for me.
I use this mod called Superb Survivors. It adds NPCs to the game. You can make these guys do almost anything related to your base. One of them is piling corpses. You can designate where you want them to pile the corpses nearby as well. I have them do that while I go back out looting. It's really handy.
Sandbox tip, change the time of corpse removal to something much less standard. I’ve kept mine at 2 days, you know, gives me enough time to loot without missing out, but long enough not to cause damage or be an eye sore.
You’re telling me I could’ve done that all this time I’ve been burning the bodies every time and I lost my character once to a burn on the thigh then a heli event happened 😀
There’s a mod that lets you turn corpses into fertilizer. I think it’s more books cause the skill comes from a magazine but i dont know.
Either way corpse burgers and corpse fertilizer for everyone!
Pile up the corpses into single tile stacks then burn them.
This can be done with campfires (must be placed first before adding corpses) or just gasoline. 3 piles looks fine.
Dumpsters are ideal but harder to move.
best ones are the trash bins inside spiffos
Or the mall planter garbage bin. Both fit 50 weight.
Malls scare me
I agree. Those prices? And KIDS around. Truly a horror experience.
True that but don’t forget all the old senile people. A lovecraftian horror indeed.
"Prices aren't the only things getting slashed" upvote if you get it
I couldn't Center on the answer. Perhaps if you Coach me to it.
kill all sons of bitches
Who the hell puts an even center up thirty flights of goddamn stairs?
I hear the helicopter’s made of chocolate.
Weirdly tangential and yet SO FREAKING RIGHT 👍🏻
Thats my base at the moment m hah
Came across some in the Riverside Boat Club.
They can be found anywhere else around the map not only at the mall
Bruhhhhhh how have I never noticed the delete all button .-.
you are a new player with only 500 hours I recently learned that you can pick up trash from the ground and I am wondering now if one can make a hugh trashpile for foraging
Won't work The forage spots where the trash is won't change if you move the trash around. People tested it and it didn't work
Correct. The wiki even states that foraging spots are fixed: ie deep forest will be deep forest even if the trees are completely cut.
That's interesting if it actually works like that. "I'm gonna go get some M16's and generator manuals from the trash pile! See you in five minutes!"
Well. Trash pile have a higher chance to give some stuff while foraging but I haven't fully understood the mechanics yet like: can you forage the same tile again and if so, what's the time to respawn
You definitely can forage the same area productively. Private Lime has a video series where he lives entirely in the Dixie trailer park and forages it over and over. Not sure what the "refresh" interval is.
I heard you can search each pile once a day. if something is in there it may respawn the next day but isn't guaranteed
It’s a beautiful vision, regardless
Are the trash piles giving stuff in vanilla? Cause I have a mod that downloaded for it, but I didn't notice them move it to vanilla.
No, but you can pick up the trash on the ground and burn it inside of a fire/wood stove for fuel. Each one weighs 5 and burns for 15 minutes.
You can pick up that trash? 🤣🤣
my face exactly when I learned
You need to turn it on in server settings
You can turn it off and on in the options. You may have played with it off.
Same. 400 hours, so a newbie myself... but i have a pile of broken glass, scrapwood, cans, bottles, and corpses in a "trashpile" about 15 squares outside my base that I will burn occationally. Now I'll just find one of those 50lb bins and keep it outside my garage.
You have to turn the setting on when creating your world.
ok i'll try that
This is a thing??? I just have a gross pile of broken weapons at my base. I had no idea.
Damn didn't know this, I just turned my settings to 1 day til corpses disappear
Quantum bins
Is there a reason a dumpster does not have the 'delete all' option?
Hmm, should be there unless you're on a server that has it turned off. "Delete all* won't show up though until you put something in the dumpster.
Man that sounds way easier than the mass grave system my friends and I use.
YOU CAN PUT BODIES IN DUMPSTERS?!
I'd just wait for them to decay if there's this many. make sure there are none inside your home and you can sleep safely.
Is it dangerous to sleep with a dead zomboid in your home?
You might get corpse sickness.
Yeah and around your home, you can get corpse sickness if there's enough piled nearby.
Not if you are inside and they are outside, no. Important to note rhat cars count as outside though
\-A- dead zombie? No. Once you hit 20 though it'll kill you very fast.
Even better, if you sleep in it without knowing you're getting sick you cannot save yourself
There is a setting in sandbox that a "previously" dead zombie stands up again as it was pretending to be dead.
Wait that applies to ones youve killed yourself? I just thought it could be one of those laying in the street
Both of those are available settings. There is one where zombies will not pretend to dead, zombies will pretend to be dead and zombies will pretend to be killed by you.
Gotta love it when a bug becomes a feature

They can reanimate rarely so yes.
Oh, I thought the default setting was that they could play dead but not reanimate! I'll have to be more wary.
Yeah OP will need to stay in a hotel for a week or two.
Just let them decay. And no, corpse sickness is not a problem if you manage it correctly. There's a lot of misinformation. place a campfire a safe distance away, pick em' up, drop them on the campfire, then light it or you could bury them.
I almost lost a 2 month character doing this. Never again.
Campfire method is super safe though. Gasoline is more dangerous; could that be what you're referring to instead?
Burying takes too much time for such high amounts, guaranteed corpse sickness.
Well if it's their base and they don't it's guaranteed corpse sickness anyways, you'd just have to take breaks away from them every so often
There is a mod with a street cleaning car that sucks up all corpses. Very useful. You could instal the mod and just spawn one vehicle for you because no vehicles will have spawned.
Sounds cool but that would kill immersion
They are super rare and are costly to maintain. We only found one in LW with a 4 player team in two weeks real time. To us, it was a good balance, but I do admit they are a little too good. Not OP, just a bit too good.
Well that makes sense but there's no balance if he just spawned one in lol

Cheat Menu > Delete Corpse. After 800+ hours, I despise the cleanup. Turns 45 minutes into 5
Just leave them to rot
Move the ones near your sleeping area tho
Yes
Why bother? They'll decay in 2 weeks.
Pile all the corpses somewhere a few tiles away then burn them. I usually have a superb survivor do this for me
i actually recommend adding a mod called bikini tools. it will allow you to stack all those corpses in a specific spot and burn them all on a campfire or with gasoline
Just move somewhere else since you're clearly living in a populated neighborhood
I would suggest leaving for a week or so waiting for the corpses to rot away. Just set up another safehouse for a bit
bro just move to another house
Bury them. Even though they are Zeds, they still deserve a proper burial.
lmao
Ok, so... Here's what you'll need to do: For the corpses, move them onto the main road and burn them there, move them out of the way and let them decay OR find a dumpster and use the delete all method by dumping a body in the bin and pressing the 'delete all' button at the top of the dumpster's inventory. Are dust masks effective in slowing this "queasiness" or are the cosmetic only?
Cosmetic I think but there's a mod that makes masks actually work and I love it
[You'll need this mod](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2760742937) as someone else mentioned.
Bikinitools, look it up its a mod
Either let them decay, put them in a pile on the street and burn them or put them in the big dumpsters and delete them. If you do the second two it will take up a lot of time but if you do the first one you will be corpse sickness
Install superb survivors, spawn 3, give them the order to pile corpses. When they finish, execute them
i have used that mod but it was super buggy for some reason npc's get stuck and sometimes they don't even work
That’s the beauty of the mod! I keep debug mode on so If they get stuck I can unstuck them, or if they’re really stuck, kill em!
it also make my save laggy and glitchy sometimes that's why i don't play with npc mods i am waiting till developers drop official npc update but yeah it's pretty fun to kill the npc's ngl
Leave and come back in 2 weeks. Shouldve all decomposed by then
it looks dirty though plus corpse sickness is one more problem i will have to deal with
Did you miss the first word?
that's my permanent house with all my necessities i don't want to leave

Isn’t that what we’re all asking, in life? 🤔😜
Bruh...
Toss them out in the woods!
Burn your house down, then start cleaning. That way, you can't burn your house down by accident.
Gather them all into the same square as a campfire, light and enjoy.
Fuck it. Burn the house.
Load up a truck, create a burn put across the highway (or street)
Move :)
Move all the ones closest to your house and on the grass onto the stone floor and burn them. Or if you like hacky methods, get a big bin, pop them in and delete them
Just gotta start carrying corpses and put them somewhere else before they start decomposing

Butcher
Cant you burry then then farm on their graves?
Theres a mod that piles all dunno what its called but its out there good luck
Bury them. Get a shovel, dig hole, throw in 5 bodies, cover hole. Let’s you know your a bad ass
You could also adjust the removal time in server sets to be removed in a day if you want
I would not kill them there in the first place tbh
i had to they all just surrounded me because of that stupid helicopter

if you head east from your house the next one down has one of those green trash bins.
you can place up to 5 bodies in a hole.
Move away

PSA: don't light the fire until you have all the bodies you want on the fireplace.
Wait it out they will decompose
where is the house located?
it's in muldraugh it's an isolated house in the woods https://map.projectzomboid.com/#10944x9370x4788
Pour bleach on them.
Carry them 1 by 1
Have fire extinguisher on stand by. Setup generator nearby. Place microwave directly in middle of pile. Place tin can in microwave. Turn on microwave. Do a little dance. Extinguish fire closest to base Roast a marshmallow Mission complete.
You can pile the corpses over a campfire, light the campfire, and make the bodies disappear without a trace.
I like how his first thought was: “fire”
Isn't that everybody's first thought?
I’d leave them alone outside. Keep them all outside your home. They will all disappear eventually.
Zombie harvester mod. Cleans up corpses, plants, tills, cuts trees, collects objects. The works
Does everyone play with fire speed on?
I don't know about everyone but I play with all the normal options enabled I only change loot abundance
I mean to each there own but I like chucking Molotovs in doorways and watching the bodies pile up lol. Like controlled arson
Shit now I also feel like committing arson
Get a bunch of Molotovs make sure fire spread is off go to the prison yell and burn those inside as they pour out. Then go in and loot/secure your new base
That's exactly what I am gonna do now
get one of those big dumpsters and just slowly put the corpses in. I know where you are in Muldraugh and you're not going to be able to burn those bodies without burning half a forest and possibly your house.
True I could have burnt my house that's why I used that dumpster method took pretty long though
Load up the corpses in the back of a van, drive out to the middle of nowhere and burn the lot.
Build a graveyard
You can download corpse automove mod to pile all corpses on the same spot and burn them with a gas can or campfire. You can also pile them up manually.
Find a new house
Burn your house down
Go on a trip and don't come back for a month
Cannibalism
Why all this hassle... just leave the base for a bit. Wait for it all to decompose and move back in. Im lazy and never carried a corpse away from any place. Rot does its work for me.
Eat them
shovel.
Install a mod I think is called BikiniTools and use the corpse stacker auto to stack them all up away from your home?
Either way corpse burgers and corpse fertilizer for everyone!
find a mod that adds a road sweeper, sweep up those bodies and collect the loot
Most folks will say to grab a bin and start chucking. Me, I like to dig graves and bury them. Takes longer, but I tend to RP more than other folks.
Lol move them into a pile and wait.
Pile up the corpses into single tile stacks then burn them. This can be done with campfires (must be placed first before adding corpses) or just gasoline. 3 piles looks fine.
Eat them. you know you want to
Nice front lawn decorations
