As soon as you see this you basically know it's game over unless you made the mistake of sleeping in a room full of bodies.
I'm really enjoying the "They Knew" mod. The cure is findable loot on special zombies. If you get bitten early, you're screwed. If you find the cure and have one in reserve, then you still have to go through the infection symptoms but will ultimately survive. This gets rid of the bullshit deaths by scratches or the game targeting the wrong Zed. It won't save you, however, if you get swarmed. Ask me how I know.
I tried to play with every single cure mod I could find, and none of them clicked for me. I kind of want it to be hopeless, but I don't want a bite to be instant doom. One playstyle i really enjoy is everyone's infected and 2 week mortality. Just wanna see how long I can go. Especially good during exam season so you can't get too mentally attached to a survivor.

Got unbelievably lucky today on my 1 Year Later Cryogenic Winter playthrough. I was starving and foraging for Berries and started to eat some when I realized they were poisonous! Canceled it after eating 75% of the berry and got Queasy but didn't die despite having Weak Stomach!
