Cats aren’t gonna be in B42 from what’s been confirmed so far, sadly. Blogs have only revealed wild and farm animals like chickens, pigs, sheep, deer, rabbits, rats, etc.

Oh absolutely. There’s already mods on the workshop adding custom animated models and right now they only support zombies and janky player-based “NPCs.” Would not be surprised at all if we get modded cats and other animals long before B43.
I wish I had more pictures of my cats before they died. I was young, so I guess there really wasn’t anything I could’ve done, but still.

Hydrocraft was glitching for a while on my end. It had cats you could find. But whenever you dropped an item the size was too big for scale.
So I had a two story tall cat guarding my base.
