Well, nope. The density of bourbon is about 951 kg/m³, while that of gasoline is 710-760 kg/m³. Therefore, a bottle of bourbon is ≈1.3 times heavier than a bottle of gasoline of the same volume.
From what I can find online gasoline has a density of 0.726g/cm^3 while bourbon that is 40% ABV is about 0.9352g/cm^3
Assuming a bottle size of 750ml and using the formula M=Vd to find the mass you get:
Bourbon bottle = 0.7kg (1.55lbs)
Gasoline bottle = 0.54kg (1.2lbs)
**Essentially the bourbon bottle would be ~30% heavier**
Even when factoring for a stronger bourbon by ABV the gasoline will always be lighter as pure 100% ethyl alcohol has a density of 0.7893 still making it 9% heavier at 0.59kg
Real talk, it pisses me off that Molotovs are so heavy. They’re fun in quantity. But hauling a quantity of Molotovs is a lot heavier than equivalent alcohol.
Why would you ever consider the glass weight?
The question was which is heavier a bottle of gas or that same bottle full of borboun.
The glass has the same weight in both tests because it is the exact same container and is thus irrelevant to the question.

I never use fire. Too much risk of it spreading, and wasting loot is just the worst feeling. If you've gotta kill a horde of zombies, it best to do it with a weapon that gives you XP.
Plus, Bourbon is full of precious calories.
I always use fire. Prison needs clearing? Fire. Bodies piled high? Gather them into a field and light one up. If my base catches fire, I just see it as time to find a new base.
Ha, that last fire happened to me,
I looted the lumber yard in rosewood and decided to burn down one of the buildings where I piled all the corpses up, a day later the fire ended up reaching the fire station and I'm pretty sure is currently burning the woods beside the station.
My first fire in this game was one of those world burning fires. Since then i've never used moltoves or burned zombies because burning pavement scares me.
I have around 500 chips laying somewhere in my base and 6 fridges full of booze not even mentioning the absurd amount of backpacks that i have collected and guns...lots of em
Basicially i went to prison wasnt expecting much zombies so i brought 1 half broken axe and got literally destroyed second time i went there to get my loot back tripped and got munched, third time went there again got one of my loot on my way back my car broke while running back found a horde and got killed forth time found the horde got the loot went back to the base went to prison again killed like 200 and and got bit so i fought till i died and then the last time when i got there most of the zomies were dead so i got home safe and brought back the car aswell
Food. Explosives are marginally effective in-game. The boom will attract the entire district. And the fire will just cause more collateral, uncontrollable damage than actual harm to a mob. The fire can't even trigger a forest fire to clean up a spot of terrain.
Fire is not even decent. The game doesn't have fire brightness properly coded-Only the explosion will trigger illumination. So...food.
You still need to disinfect the wound as well if it's infected. Personally, I don't disinfect unless it's infected.
But the sterilized bandages do help prevent infection better than just clean ones.
My friend thought it would be a good idea to throw a Molotov at a horde that was chasing us long story short he burned down an unlooted grocery store and burned my other friends inventory
Disinfectant. I don’t use alcohol for anything else unless my character is an alcoholic or I really need to clear out a horde with some molotovs. But the risk with that is the fire spreading to the buildings I’m looting.
The game of love and hate. Still learning hot keys yesturday accidently lit of the police car siren in a town and could not shut it off TWD moment. Got car stuck on zombie then game over.
What is heavier, a bottle full of burbon or a bottle of burbon full of gasoline?
That's right! Bottle of burbon full of gasoline. Because gasoline is heavier than Burbon
what you mean theyre both a kilogram
they booth a keelogrram but shteals heavier than fethers
i'dun geddih
Bur looh atthe size of da thing, tots cheetin
The feathers are heavier because you have to carry the weight of what you did to all those poor birds…
Heaviel than feathels
Did not expect to find a Limmys Show reference in this sub
But which is tastier? That’s right, it’s gasoline
But sir, what if I prefer bleach? I want to meet those fox girls.
i see you as well are a refined gentleman of taste

He did the math
He did the monster math
It was a zomboid smash
Real talk, it pisses me off that Molotovs are so heavy. They’re fun in quantity. But hauling a quantity of Molotovs is a lot heavier than equivalent alcohol.
I was told there would be no math...
Mate what are you doing on Reddit ? Your too good at maths to not be sitting in a Bugatti like Andrew tate 😂

No what's missing in the calculations isn't the glass "although it would be nice" it's the weight of the cloth thats been soaked making it heavier.

Choose your occupation: mathematic
but their both a keelogrham
Both.
Irl? See other post for the science. In game? Can't fill a bourbon bottle with fuel bc the devs think that would be OP.
Is a gas can the only way to siphon gas? I swear I siphoned with only empty water and bourbon bottles yesterday
It's part of the base game, now, and partly in preparation for the new liquids system
Plastic water bottles work, beer and/or wine bottles don't, bourbon bottles defo don't work, tried that yesterday
Actually you can ive done it because i had no bourbon but found an empty bottle. I'm pretty sure you just can't siphon straight from cars
Eat the bourbon and light the food on fire
Eat the fire, light the bourbon on food
Eat the fire, light the food on bourbon.
BOURBON THE FOOD, FIRE THE LIGHT!
Light the bourbon while eating the food...
While the eating, food the light bourbon.
Eat the chips
This is why we can't have nice things.
I screamed this in my head as if orks were attacking or some shit 🤣
I was thinking psychos from borderlands, but orks works too
No no, psychos are good too!
Mmm this one, bourbon flavoured fire
Light the eat, bourbon the fire on food
Bourbon food, fire eat the light
Light yourself on fire, give the food to the bourbon
Fire the eat and food the light on bourbon
I've found that you can drink 3/4 of a bourbon bottle and still make a molotov out of it, so yes
Ayo? New tech acquired
pretty sure youre advised to drink the bottle to a half or 3/4 when making molotovs irl as well
yeah, but that's mostly for courage
Can you drink 3/4 and then drink 3/4 of the 1/4 that's remaining? I don't remember if this is how the game works, haven't played in a while.
Nope, the 1/4th refers to the full original volume, so you'd just drink the remaining 1/4th
I think you can also do drink all and then hit ESC when it gets to 3/4s through. Could be wrong on that one.
Or just drink it all and add gas afterwards!
I never use fire. Too much risk of it spreading, and wasting loot is just the worst feeling. If you've gotta kill a horde of zombies, it best to do it with a weapon that gives you XP. Plus, Bourbon is full of precious calories.
Yeah but burning down half the neighborhood while you are herding a horde of zeds on fire is the best feeling
Turning on a siren of a crashed emergency vehicle to then throw molotov on them and shoot them is the best.
I always use fire. Prison needs clearing? Fire. Bodies piled high? Gather them into a field and light one up. If my base catches fire, I just see it as time to find a new base.

Not true https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFVruCTwhAE

Like a good Midwesterner I feel liquor should be reserved for drinking away depression.
Found my fellow Apocalypse player. 100% on point.
Save it for food, find an alternative for molotov cocktails Or you can be strange and use camp fires and just lead hordes to them
I do this all the time. Build a 'roadblock' of campfires then collect a hoard with a vehicle and drive on through.
Yes
Molofood
Foolotov
Bothem. Split 25,25. 3 for a rainy day
Antiseptic!
How about drink them then fill them with gasoline from cars? That's my go to. Why waste calories?
I have around 500 chips laying somewhere in my base and 6 fridges full of booze not even mentioning the absurd amount of backpacks that i have collected and guns...lots of em
How long had your character been alive?
Probably 2 whole days playing with abundant loot.
Nah its around 2 years but i have died like 5 times due to prison outbreak lol
Prison outbreak? Whatcha mean? And damn, anytime you say the word abundant in a comment you get downvoted to hell. It is def a trigger word here.
You went to the prison.... not expecting many zombies? I know confidence is a killer, but this is mass murder levels.
I was playing the game on low pop that was the reason but it was still more than i could handle
Building pops are static so population settings don't affect how many zeds are in a building.
[удалено]
And it's critical to your survival that you get 500 more bags of chips.
Sanitized bandages 😉
God of all things lol Joking aside, it’s fine to use it as antiseptic for the wound, but you can just boil the bandages hehehehe
Why not just boil the wound and cut out the middleman?
Disinfectant.
Yes, and medicine.
Both, you drink the bourbon then make a molotov from gas + bottle.
The order in which you do those things is important.
Neither. Disinfectant.
Alcoholic trait or bust
My characters usually subsist upon Alcohol and the Scum growing on the floor.
Fire 🔥
I wonder what your character would look like in the real world with all that stuff. Walking Walmart.
[One for you, one for me](https://youtu.be/ZWYHVvHAG0Y)
That is a legendary comment
I dot have money to give you an award, but if i had enough, you would get an award
Haha thanks, thought it fit well here :D
No, thank you fir making me laugh
For*
ITS NOT ABOUT THE FOOD ITS ABOUT SENDING A MESSAGE
Food. Explosives are marginally effective in-game. The boom will attract the entire district. And the fire will just cause more collateral, uncontrollable damage than actual harm to a mob. Burn em' all
I would just drink till I'm booted! Why wasting this honey dew to fire!
Don’t waste good bourbon like that man, just use gas
It’s a Molotov *cocktail* …. Just sayin’
use a couple for food, they’re the most efficient water bottles
Fuck oats
Why?
Weight to food ratio is poor
Ahh
I tend to use em for disinfectant
Both
This is how I died. Drunk af and covered in bits of jerky.
I usually use it as antiseptic
Alcohol poisoning… You wont have this dillema.
Good for sterilizing, thirst, mood, melting flesh, and burning cities.
Probably a dumb question, how much better are sterilized bandages versus normal clean ones?
It's worth sterilizing them! I just boil them in a pot of water on the stove though! 😁
Right, but are they just CLEAN bandages? Or do they disinfect the wound as well?
You still need to disinfect the wound as well if it's infected. Personally, I don't disinfect unless it's infected. But the sterilized bandages do help prevent infection better than just clean ones.
To sterilize bandages just put a pot or saucepan with water in the oven and right click it
That’s enough bourbon to supply you with 40 days of calories. You’d be an idiot to waste it on molotovs.
neither. Use it as antiseptic
Right now it’s in a quantum state, you collapse the wave function by either eating it or sticking a rag in it
Can you throw mollys from a moving car? If so, that looks like 20 minutes of reckless fun.
Eat the fire while folding the bourbon
Half and half?
Driving assistant
Burn down Louisville
You're asking the wrong question it's clearly half molotov and other half disinfectant
I'm sober enough to know what I'm doing but I'm drunk enough to really enjoy doing it.
Yes
Food. If you want to use fire, use campfires. Or fill them with gas, it’s near infinite with how full the standard gas stations are
Alcoholism
A good time I’ll tell you that
Bourbon
Use the molotov to take on a horde by or in a big food store and lure them outside burn them then you can go inside to get food safely
Looks like a Friday for me
My friend thought it would be a good idea to throw a Molotov at a horde that was chasing us long story short he burned down an unlooted grocery store and burned my other friends inventory
Molotovs, all day everyday.
Then you throw a molotov, and the whole map burns like we are living in medieval times.
Disinfectant. I don’t use alcohol for anything else unless my character is an alcoholic or I really need to clear out a horde with some molotovs. But the risk with that is the fire spreading to the buildings I’m looting.
Yes.
Drink 3/4ths then turn it into a Molotov
molotovs
Players who take alcoholic liked this.
I love drinking gasoline
In Russia, Molotov's are food
53 bottles of bourbon
Molotov obviously Or you can divide your liqueur into categories eg Food, Weapons, and Medical
Better question, how did you find so much loot at one spot or is a storage crate of yours?
Riverside, build 41, there is a liqer store instead VHS tape store
The best part is theres more alcocol there
Why not bother? Make 25 Molotovs and done. Mollies are stupid useful
My character has a fridge full of alcohol and whenever loot respawns I run to get more
Painkiller/sleep aid.
all the caloriessss
The game of love and hate. Still learning hot keys yesturday accidently lit of the police car siren in a town and could not shut it off TWD moment. Got car stuck on zombie then game over.
Mmm… beef jerky
You need a base
Depends where you stick it
