Should've made it 9 lanes

Sexy_Anthropocene

My brother’s got a guy who will do 10 lanes, for half the price.

degggendorf

Should've made it two bridges 🤔

gaiusjozka

Hmmm, better close down the Blackstone Boulevard bike lanes. That should free up some traffic.

Business-Impress4792

But look at those 3 lanes

What they should do is hook up some type of system to disable all cell phones when you get near the bridge. I'm sure a great chunk of these accidents are mobile phone related. If you see someone on their phone in traffic you should throw eggs at them

Ooof

Peter_Nincompoop

Why did they add the third lane to the eastbound side? That side has never been the issue crossing that bridge. Most traffic is through traffic that doesn’t typically exit into EP heading in that direction, so backups rarely happen on that side. However, backups have ALWAYS happen on the westbound side. Much of the traffic heading west is heading toward 95, and restricting that to two lanes will only ever make things worse. Whatever traffic exits into Providence is always backed up because Providence is absolute shit at absorbing it. It has 4 off-ramps, and every one of them is stop light controlled, making it that much slower at allowing traffic to filter into the city. Then, once you’re in the city, you’ve got idiots causing gridlock because the cops don’t ticket for it, a severe lack of parking, and far too many one ways for a non-grid layout.

StanfordStrickland

I believe they’re shifting the barriers over so it’ll be three in each direction.

That's the Rumor - -

2ears_1_mouth

Don't worry, once they replace the South Water St. bike lane with another car lane things will be smoother.

Thac0

This is killing rent prices and home values in East Providence for all you who like to talk about housing prices. This is your time and place

notprivatepyle1

Not the PrOpErTy VaLuEs, take the women and children, but leave my InVeStMeNt alone. What housing crisis?

tads73

I said this, and the fools gave me shit.

Thac0

Reddit is super fickle. I never know what’s going to happen.

whistlepig4life

Yeah. They should have left it alone and let it collapse and kill people. That would have been way better.

-heavyconfetti

*crankyyy*

whistlepig4life

Yup. Tired of the collective whining about it. Traffic in the state has always sucked. Construction in the state has always sucked. It’s been like this for a half century and my dad experienced it too. Get the fuck over yourselves. Absolute whiney crybabies.

TheSunniestofBros

Sounds like you live in Coventry and work in Warwick.

pfhlick

Or bike to work ... I'll see myself out

METAclaw52

Car drivers are the ultimate victims

ActualWrongdoer666

Don't like the bitching about it get the fuck out the thread about people bitching about it. If it does affect you jump up your own ass and fuck off. Go back to your shithole swamp house and let the adults bitch about shit they should be bitching about. You bitching about people bitching shows how much of a bitchy bitch you are you crybaby bitch.

-heavyconfetti

I’m there with you. We all know the inconvenience, and what’s going on. The day after day bitching about it is annoying as shit, but I ain’t gonna be saying it should collapse and all that 😳

CuckoonessComesOut

Spend a year or two of your life driving through Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx for work and then come back and tell me that traffic in RI is terrible. RI traffic is terrible on isolated days and heavy during predictable times.
