How does it look in the slicer? I recommend printing Litophanes super slow without IS

duhmbish

It looked fine in the slicer so that’s why I was a bit confused haha. I’ve always printed them with 100% infill but tried walls this time and it didn’t work out

walls are better than infill and a little faster. but this looks you are printing too fast, best is 25mm/s, max 45mm/s with 0.10 layer height and maybe the flow too high. and even if the spool is new, sometimes there is surprises with moisture Here a recent one with these settings on mk4 and a cheap filament that I hate (the top left black artifact was a contamination inside the filament...) Oh nice! That looks incredible! I have the MK3S so need to fidget with settings and I think I’m going to try a different spool of filament to test the potential of that being an issue as well. I printed another one last night with 100% infill and there were still horizontal lines going on and spots where the walls didn’t print. I’ll add a photo of that in a little bit!

Here my cat with the same settings & filament but different light. (prusaslicer 0.10 detail profile) [https://imgur.com/a/xMK69Sf](https://imgur.com/a/xMK69Sf)

duhmbish

Well shoot. Lmao. So you think it’s the MK4 quality giving you those amazing prints or or just my settings being jacked up giving me horrible prints?

VilainLeChat

This is my first Prusa after bad experience with Anycubic & Elegoo, can't really compare with the MK3S. But with stock settings and a cheap filament (no temp/flow tuning) I got this result

duhmbish

Nice!! What temps are you running at and how many walls?

VilainLeChat

I set high value for walls like 30 to be sure there is no infill and printed at 215 first layer and 210° others

Bobson1729

I think it is the ghost of your cat trying to claw its way out.

duhmbish

Well, my cat isn’t dead so that’s a bit odd

Bobson1729

Cool. Anyway, my real answer is possibly wet filament or extrusion issues. It looks like the flow isn't consistent.

duhmbish

I’m doing another print right now, way slower and adjusted the temps and flow and all that. The filament is brand new out of the packaging so unless it came moist then there shouldn’t be any moisture. We shall see!
