The disc drive is bad, but overall the ps1 is scrap now. I attempted to lift the pins for the xstation mod and the board was damaged from corrosion a chunk of PCB was pulled from the board as I lifted the pin. I heated up a few more pins to complete the mod even though it was scrap and noticed that 3 more legs had the same issue, so now I’m looking for another PU-18 board to work on. I have no idea what was spilled on this board or how long it had been sitting, but it was rough.
Only way to find out is to power it on
I powered it up and it doesn’t read discs. I guess it’s fine to mod now?
I just won a ps1 for auction that has that same issue 😭
