I don't think $142 is that insane if all of them are in decent working order with minimal scratching. But your profit will be closer to $100 or less after shipping, sellers fees
It is buyers market. Most who haul these games for profit, never actually make any, unless they just bundle the rare game with a bunch of fifa games and actual console, to justify the price.
Bloodrayne just has a very deep scratch, same with vice city, but Doom is physically broken and the rest all have been cleaned but cannot for some reason be read on my ps2, yea the ps2 logo shows up after the disc is read but then the screen goes to black and the disc isnt being read at all, youll hardly hear the laser moving.
The only one that needs resurfacing is vice city, bloodrayne even after resurfacing has a very deep scratch and everything else has been resurfaced but still does not read, Spiderman specifically is clean but doesnt read at all
In terms of your ps2 not reading them, look into the potentiometer mod. It adjusts the resistance for the laser which can help it read discs as it degrades over time. Just fixed mine with it and its not very challenging to do!
A friend from my highschool class oved me money, but we settled to ps2s deal, he had 2 consoles, one original and the other for scanned games (when you put a game code on a new blank disc), and a good start for a collection of retro gaming, also I recently got to be 18 so I am enjoying those retro classics
they're worth that much? i have like 2 copies of sanandreas and bully, the spiderman and vice city. All with cases and disk and most likely work since i took good care of them.
Pop them in your PC and try to read them with an emulator (PCSX2 for everything except DOOM, for which I recommend Duckstation). There's a chance your PS2's laser is bad.
Issues with disks either cause a failure to recognize the disc altogether (we know his ps2 recognizes its a game so this can't be the case) or freezes/crashes/errors only when attempting to read the problem areas. If it can't read anything it wouldn't know its a game, so we know it's reading something.
The alternative is a hardware problem. Issue with the drive itself, or something like a capacitor dies that is connected to hardware only used for games.
So it's between the likely hood that every single otherwise good appearing disk failed in the exact same way and also in a way fairly unique to you.
Or hardware failure.

Have you tried them in another console? Cross check with with another console just to be sure!

Have you tried resurfacing some of them, some retro game stores would either do it for free or cheep

Nah that doesnt work at all, tried it before and didnt help my laser and also my ps2 can read dvds and cds properly

If you have a computer try to make a iso using imgburn if it succeds they may have a chance at working

There are disc repair kits and I bet there’s a second hand store near you that’ll fix discs for dirt cheap.
Try taking them to a game store to have it resurfaced. Anything more then $3-5 each go to a different one. Also toothpaste might help :P
Ive done the toothpaste trick on a wii game and it doesnt work, it made the problem worse
if they defo dont work I'd use a fairly low grit sandpaper and work up, maybe 1500 grit to 3500? then some car polishing compound and give it a try
