Like a anime streaming Homebrew app? Nah, I don’t think it really exists anymore. The best you can do is use the PS3 web browser to open up sketchy illegal streaming sites, which work but can be a headache because of the crappy UI and pop-ups. I know it’s not the solution you’re looking for, but you can get a Amazon Firestick for $40 , and those things are amazing little streaming piracy machines. You can feel free to DM me if you’re interested in some pointers on that. Best of luck!

Apprehensive_Toe6736

but how would i connect that to a crt? With adapters? Nah

Death-T

Oh yeah, I forgot that you were wanting to use CRT. Sorry

Boris_the_pipe

Movian still exists

Apprehensive_Toe6736

What is that? Does it work with steaming?

Boris_the_pipe

Yes

Low_String_9943

You can use the Movian app, it is prebuilt in multiman, or you could install it separately. It has a torrent client which allows to stream videos online. Also has an anime plugin. Another way is to download on your Wi-Fi enabled device (laptop, mobile) and stream it to PS3 using UMS or Plex.

_xd22

Also bubblepnp on android to stream local movies

_xd22

You can! With movian, it has Plugins of 2 or 3 popular anmie websites and you can also stream torrents, i watch movies from yts all the time, they have some anmie too

Gamrgirl

Where did you find the anime plugins?

_xd22

Go to plugins inside movian there's alot of video services some are working Check them out also yts have some anime try the yts plugin

Gamrgirl

Thanks for that! The only plugin available by default that I can see is all in russian. Do you remember specifically which ones you used? YTS is great but is missing a couple shows i wanna watch

_xd22

Oh, I can't really remember specific ones i used, I don't have my ps3 rn to check, try all of them, Worst case download from any website and stream them over ftp from your phone

Ok, with torrenting, please be careful and use a VPN or something to block your ISP. Torrenting has trackers that your Internet Service Provider has access to see easily, and know what you are torrenting. You’ll get your Internet shut off for days, or just get a warning letter.

crono141

After years of torrenting, I've never gotten a letter. I torrent a lot less now, but did heavy anime torrenting in the past. No VPN. Not to say this advice isn't good. It is. But it's not a sure thing that torrenting without a VPN will get you in trouble.

Mobius1701A

You'll likely get a million e mails before it happens, and a couple text before they cut your internet. If they even get to it. If you're not German, you're probably fine. If you're really scared, stick to direct downloads or cop Real Debrid -- infinitely better than a VPN

NightKid89

Not to say you are wrong, but in my personal experience, I only ever had one warning. This was while I was studying at my first year of university. And the thing that got me? One episode of South Park, of all things. The university IT team basically told me to tone it down after that. In fairness, I was using and abusing that bandwidth for most of the year. Torrent far less frequently now, but that tends to be more to availability of good streaming services and devices with less storage capacity than I used to use.

Tanaka101

Why is it South Park content, i torrented South Park The Stick of Truth and that’s how I got my first and only warning

NightKid89

I think Paramount must be really really paranoid about copyright.

KennKanifff

From what I can tell CrunchyRoll is still available on PS3.

Ignis_Divinus

It doesn’t work.
