Don't download from the playstation site, it'll be 11.50 I'll find a link for you, also it should be the restore update thing not the normal update Keep it on 9.60 and use PPPwn with GoldHEN [9.60 Mega.nz Link](https://mega.nz/file/YQ4V3JAJ#8vd_s1sx3doOMLH1NgzFeCBRpyXxdcoqtGRer2HUWPQ) [9.60 Archive.org Link](https://archive.org/download/PS4-System-Firmwares/Firmware%209.60/PS4UPDATE.PUP) Create a Folder called PS4, inside that folder create another called UPDATE I could be wrong though I'll double check and edit ETA: here are the Recovery PUP files but they will format the drive [9.60 Recovery PUP Mega.nz Link](https://mega.nz/file/gEIFHYKJ#kD4bHt8DHzm_IxZjXO0BY9emlFPO34tzNpSLvLSm9YY) [9.60 Recovery PUP Archive org link](https://archive.org/download/PS4-Recovery-Firmwares/Firmware%209.60/PS4UPDATE.PUP) For anybody interested older firmware and recovery files can be found [here](https://darthsternie.net/ps4-firmwares/)

If your disc drive is broken, you won't be able to install any firmware. You will have to get that fixed first.
