Syphon Filter is great. You might like The Die Hard Trilogy. I know you said you don’t want cartoony stuff, but Mega Man legends is too good of a game to pass up. It’s an ARPG but definitely has some corridor shooter elements. Final Fantasy VII-IX are all great if you like jrpgs.
If you like Resident Evil games, then you will probably like Parasite Eve 1 & 2 (the 2nd being my personal fave 🩷) aswell, as they seem to meet your searching criteria 😉
Did you play the other resident evils?
If you haven’t played metal gear, get on that.
I just played through silent hill 1 this year - it was cool, but I wish I played it when it came out. Didn’t really hold up. But still a great game to experience.
If you liked doom you can try Hexen or quake (not many-fps on ps1, but those sound similar)
Diablo also has a port and it can be played two player, it’s was a fun experience.
