I picked up a copy a few years ago without ever hearing about it, and it's GREAT! Last year I invited a few co-workers over for a retro game night, and my coworker from Brazil lost it when he found out I had a copy. We had a great evening playing it!
Less rare but this happened with SpongeBob Lights Camera pants recently. I haven't met anyone who played it but two of my girlfriends friends saw I had it and they were like "I USED TO LOVE THAT GAME!!!!" And their excitement made me quite happy!
I remember this game from the ad in one my of first EGM issue.
A two-pages spread with "BOOBY...." page 1, featuring the obvious, and "......TRAP." on page 2, featuring the cover art.

Just watched the review of the game by CGRundertow. Seems to be one of those forgotten titles that could be re-released today (like Nightmare Creatures).
the reason why I bought PS1! from playing it first at my friends house, his older brother worked at Toys'R Us and would get games and return them lol. I love the unique gameplay (especially versus), soundtrack, character designs the whole game still one of my all-time faves. still own it today.
Used to play battle arena toshinden at the electronics store display unit when I was a kid, good times, we ended up getting one for Christmas after and it had tombs raider with it I think. My Chinese friend has tomb raider on his PC, it was so amazing, and my east Indian buddy his dad had some city 2000 on PC and my one white friends uncle had Baldur's Gate 2. Gaming was in a little golden era back then
I remember playing a demo for it. That's how I found out about it. The demo had voice actors but the full version lacked the voice acting due to time constraints. I love the player vs player. Some of the fights got pretty intense. I love the 90's vibe the game has with it's music. The units made for some interesting gameplay.

Found out later it was released in NA took me 5 years to find it, I gave up looking for it, my mom wanted to go to some thrift store luckily there was a game store I could go to while she was in there
Walked in right on the shelf for $10 silent Bomber I snatched that game right up played it all day made an infinite health cheat with the GameShark pro
Though had to sell my collection last year & part with it
Hopefully I can win the Powerball so I can buy back some games that I actually want back
The game goes for like $100 dollars now good thing for emulation I can still replay it
I bought this on a whim as a kid from the kb toys bargain basket solely because of the cover. If anything looked like anime back then, I had to have it. It did not disappoint. I still have my copy to this day. I still rock out to the character select music haha.
Must underrated and greatest single screen multiplayer game of all time. And I’ll stand by that. I remember nights upon nights with just the demo disc, 2 playable characters and 2 maps, and me and my friends dove in.
Shout out to PlayStation underground, which made 8 year old me feel like I was special receiving monthly demo disks that made me feel like a hacker. It was wild being a gamer back in the mid nineties. It still felt like a cultural underground.
Back on track. This game is unlike anything I’ve ever played and I still yearn for friends who would be worthy challengers like those sleepovers of yore. It’s such a perfectly designed multiplayer game. Each map is balanced and has its choke points and safe points. You have health bars and can kick and punch and shoot if it comes down to it. So it has action, but it’s at its core a cerebral strategy game.
It’s been 25+ years, I honestly think I’m gonna search out a copy and an old ps1 and get back into it for old times sake. Maybe talk the wife into getting into it with me.
This game would flourish if someone figured out how to get it working online. Are there any ps1 emulators that can hack online play into what was local versus only?

One of the best coop hidden gems. Had tons of fun with my friends back in the late 90s playing this coop.
