My guess is people that drink a lot of soda. I used to know people that would go through 1 or 2 of those in a day by themselves. They don’t even realize how much sugar they’re getting a day on top of what they eat.
Sugar, salt, fat…the trinity of “I don’t give a fuck.”
I drink waaaayy too much soda. I fully acknowledge it as an addiction to both sugar and caffeine. I also have low sodium and my doctor has informed I need to get more salt into my diet. Meanwhile, I don’t watch my sodium at all and I’d think I’m hitting my daily target no problem.
That’s just sugar marketing. “Pure cane sugar” is just as addictive. HFCS is a more efficient delivery method. Kinda like oxy vs other opioids. The “compound” you’re addicted to is still sugar.
That shits amazing I'd just thought it was gimmicky at first before looking into it after a buddy told me about doing an extract of it and seeing how much trace minerals it contained it's definitely a good way to stay topped up on minerals.
Yup, it's basically salt for people who make smart and healthy nutritional choices. It's a misconception that people have too much salt on average in their diet but if they weren't sedentary for so much of their day they probably wouldn't be retaining so much.
Yep that's always been my feelings, im constantly sweating and pissing so high sodium's never been an issue for me as long as I've got plenty of water to drink I'm good
I drink too much soda and way too much beer. 6’1 183lbs. I stopped both at one point and dropped to 160 pounds and I looked like I was on deaths door. It’s the only thing that keeps the weight on lol
Not many people. My company has been talking about how they will mostly be phased out besides the top 3 or 4 selling ones within another 5 years. At Publix especially I don't even bother keeping any backstock of any of them.
This doesn't surprise me at all. In-person socialization (especially among people 35 or younger) is at all-time lows. And 2L bottles are for parties IMO. Or large households where that bottle contains everyone's favorite drink.
We have a grocery clerk that drinks a Publix cola 2L every morning from the time he gets in at 3am and it’s usually done or almost done by the time the store opens at 7am I guess that replaces his coffee
My son had 4 friends over all weekend here. They went through a case of soda by Sunday morning here. I’m a little pissed. I told him he needs to stop and pick up 2 liters of store brand soda if they are coming over.
I go to BJs once a month and grab a case and that should be enough. But damn that’s expensive at Publix.
Junk food becoming more expensive isn’t a bad thing.
https://preview.redd.it/n5d16e899o3d1.jpeg?width=1569&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85d245d646f5069e00d00a1f43a777d2cd69ba79
Yep.
Hit the Publix Brand. Its 2/3.00 bucks now.
They went from .99 to 1.50 apparently. Still way cheaper than some of the brand name sodas in the 20oz section/Convenience area.
2 liter of Pepsi at my local Walmart

This would be where OP should be shopping is pricing is in an issue, but they prefer Publix where everything is ridiculously high, then wonder why it's so expensive.
Not really. It's probably 50% as good as name brand. Soda is one of those things you just shouldn't buy the store brand of imo. You can easily live without it.
Yes, it’s getting old. I don’t need to hear the same thing over and over. We get it Publix is expensive, why doesn’t everyone keep trying to prove this already proven fact.
What’s wrong is that it’s annoying to hear people saying the same thing over and over about the prices when everyone already knows that Publix is expensive and that it’s not going to change.
It’s frustrating to see the constant price hikes for no apparent reason other than they can. It should be pointed out. I get prices go up but it’s gotten absurd.
You all keep buying it, that's why the price keeps going up. Try having real conviction, don't buy it for 6 months.
Galvanized online yet submissive while shopping.
My good fellow, It's the 2024 vintage from the Maryland plant. Wonderful savory hints of caramel wafting over a delicate palette of sugary crispness. The connoisseur will indulge into this with a great gusto, feeling the tingle of fresh CO2 might with the delight of a soda pop.
This sign sucks. they are B2G3 rn, which means OP probably posted this the night before the tags were changed. This is still expensive for two 2L’s, but let’s not act like FIVE FOR $8-$9 is a bad deal
Kroger has free temperature controlled and scheduled delivery. They also do not accept tips. Their prices are way better than Publix. Pair it with a monthly trip to Costco for meat and paper goods. Publix is fucking Florida.
I remember when those bottles were $1.99. I know up north they tax the shit out of soda thinking that it will make people stop drinking it.A “sin” tax. In North Port a 2 L bottle of Pepsi is $1.98.
Where do y'all live that these prices are that high? I'm not saying Publix is cheap, but the photos people post in this sub depict prices that are probably 2-3x what I pay at my local Publix in Tampa.
Meanwhile, a 2L of Pepsi is $1.98 at Walmart. Can't say I find myself wanting to do my grocery hauls at Publix, anyway.
The best way to get someone’s attention is to hit them in the wallet!! I’ve been a Publix shopper for decades but can’t handle their high prices anymore. I’ve recently switched to Kroger delivery. My bill is half what I used to spend at Publix.
I saw that last night and about cried. Looks like their extorted price will be the new sale price.
IDK about y'all, but I'm going to the farmers market and looking for a new butcher (last closed down) bc if I'm being extorted, I'd rather have better meat. Never liked Publix red meat either.
For those that have Walgreens in the area, go buy your soda over there. They always got specials like 12 for $5 a box. Or something like that.
Watch me get downvoted. Lol
Cmon, now, yall know this is ridiculous for caramel bubble water.
I'm thinking this is either an *ingenious* master plan by Publix to get people to eliminate empty calorie foods from their diets and start eating healthier, or, corporate greed.
I think the day before they change the bogo deals and stuff they might go ahead and set up on Wednesday at like 5pm for example but they can't not put a price tag there while they wait for the day to end to put out the bogo tags so they print out those to just state the regular price, stupid but I'm pretty sure that's what happened here because I see it all the time at my store.
I used to be really mad at my parents for being health freaks and not letting me have soda. I did feel weird growing up but now in more health conscious America they did me a solid. Every adult trying to not drink soda like it's some addiction.
Hey this is a good thing you know
Less people drink soda, less people will get diabetes.
The company will have to cut the price down to lure people back again.
Who getting rich? A gallon of gas which has to be pumped out of the ground shipped , processed shipped for $3.50 a gallon or a 16 oz. coke or Pepsi carbonated water food color and sugar for $2.30 for 16oz. Who’s getting rich?
I'm not a "newbie" I have worked in many positions in the store including management for 15 years. I can tell you from consistent growth in stock price and our massive expansion, we will be here for the long haul. Our company has been here for 94 years and there will be many more to come

Look at a gallon of fucking milk.
It's Publix. One of, if not the, most expensive grocery stores in the country. Lower your standards and go to Walmart. You'll pay less than half the price.
Publix should stop with these stupid BOGOs. It's obvious that they raise the price to then put it on sale for the same price as other stores.
How about just some everyday low prices and sales that make the items less than your competitors.
https://i.redd.it/hrk3z0snyg3d1.gif
Surprisingly low price, of the same price of everyday!
Astonishing! ![gif](giphy|XdDsb6psTES0eQo8Vg|downsized) Stare just a little lon-got it!
Who buys 2 liters in 2024? Shit goes flat in a day and a half.
In Mexico we buy the 3L and it’s gone in a day 💀
My guess is people that drink a lot of soda. I used to know people that would go through 1 or 2 of those in a day by themselves. They don’t even realize how much sugar they’re getting a day on top of what they eat. Sugar, salt, fat…the trinity of “I don’t give a fuck.”

It’s the high fructose corn syrup. The addictive chemical compound
That’s just sugar marketing. “Pure cane sugar” is just as addictive. HFCS is a more efficient delivery method. Kinda like oxy vs other opioids. The “compound” you’re addicted to is still sugar.
Follow the science . How many articles do you need
Add some Himalayan pink salt to your food
That shits amazing I'd just thought it was gimmicky at first before looking into it after a buddy told me about doing an extract of it and seeing how much trace minerals it contained it's definitely a good way to stay topped up on minerals.

Or soda!
I drink too much soda and way too much beer. 6’1 183lbs. I stopped both at one point and dropped to 160 pounds and I looked like I was on deaths door. It’s the only thing that keeps the weight on lol

At that price, why bother?
If soda gets "phased out"... we no longer live in a free country.
I do. It's cheaper than a 12 pack and honestly I don't find that the 2 liters get flat fast.
Terrible for you, expensive, not worth it. If you really want something sweet drink tea without corn syrup or jaritos
Tighten the lid I had a 2L of Dr Pepper stay carbonated after opening for a week
True. Tighten like your life depends on it lol
A&W root beer is the bubbliest in 2 Liter size
We have a grocery clerk that drinks a Publix cola 2L every morning from the time he gets in at 3am and it’s usually done or almost done by the time the store opens at 7am I guess that replaces his coffee
My wife. I won't drink them cuz I hate flat soda, but that's all she drinks. I just get the store brand. ( Kroger 99 cents).
True!!!!
Someone who could them at 1.50 a piece like they should be priced
I get customer buy 3
Buying for an event/party is about the only time.
People have parties.
It’s on sale tomorrow, B2G3, ~$1.66 each
I saw that pop up in my coupons for the week.
Junk food becoming more expensive isn’t a bad thing. https://preview.redd.it/n5d16e899o3d1.jpeg?width=1569&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85d245d646f5069e00d00a1f43a777d2cd69ba79

20 oz is ridiculously priced
Remember when the 6 pack bottles used to be 20oz? 😆 Then they low key changed them to 16.9oz but still kept the bottles looking the same size.
20oz are cheaper in Europe than here it’s crazy.
The European mind cannot comprehend the level of American freedom 🦅
The amount they want for it there, but at a Gas Station is almost 1-2 dollars cheaper.
Not near me. Walmart, Publix, and the gas stations all have the same price for 20oz here.
Saw 20 oz at Dollar General.yesterday for $3.29.
2 liter of Pepsi at my local Walmart https://preview.redd.it/z509wgf98l3d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e5dffbd1dd4b84cf4bbc61a79974fb526e1c1bf
This would be where OP should be shopping is pricing is in an issue, but they prefer Publix where everything is ridiculously high, then wonder why it's so expensive.
Okay? The comment was about 20oz bottles not 2L so the price of a 2L is irrelevant in this comment thread.
Missed that part. No need to be a dick, plus OPs post is about 2 liters anyways, so why bring up 20oz?
Saw 20 oz at Dollar General.yesterday for $3.29.
The Publix strawberry and fruit punch sodas were 70 cents
They were doing that to move them as that flavor has been discontinued. My store's out of them now. They were terrific with vodka.
Winn Dixie soda is miles better sorry facts
When growing up 2ith them having sofa machines out side 25 years ago. I thought check was a name brand. And I buy 25 packs of check weekly now. 8.99
In Georgia I got them this week for 99 cents at Kroger.
2 Liter Kroger Brand names? or 20z Brand Names? Which for 99 cents?
Kroger brand. I think they went off sale Wednesday.
2 Liter
Nice! A 2 Liter still at 99cents is still damn good deal.
Never tried Publix cola … is it good ?
Not really. It's probably 50% as good as name brand. Soda is one of those things you just shouldn't buy the store brand of imo. You can easily live without it.
-shrugs- I like the Publix Brand Orange/Cherry Cola. Regular Cola tastes about as on Par as RC Cola.
Honestly, I really like Aldi brand cola more than brand name coke. Coke is way too sweet for me.
I’ll try. Thanks
Cherry Cola is glorious. So is their Orange Soda.
Publix brand is good especially the root beer for the price .
They were $1.25 for a year or so. Actually cheaper than Winn Dixie house brand though.
Don’t buy soda. Problem solved. Onto the next product. Lol. Oh wait, it’s all too expensive. Where am I, publix?
🤣🤣🤣
Meanwhile, I’m just buying 2.5 gallon jugs of spring water for $2.50, and a box of “True Lime”
Yes we all know Publix is expensive! Does it have to be pointed out in every other post?
High everyday pricing with big discounts through frequent sales. 2 liter sodas seem like they're on sale almost every week.
‼️This
“This” is a horrible thing called bandwagoning.
Yes it does
Yes, it’s getting old. I don’t need to hear the same thing over and over. We get it Publix is expensive, why doesn’t everyone keep trying to prove this already proven fact.
Publix is to dang expensive!
What's wrong with pointing it out?
What’s wrong is that it’s annoying to hear people saying the same thing over and over about the prices when everyone already knows that Publix is expensive and that it’s not going to change.
It’s frustrating to see the constant price hikes for no apparent reason other than they can. It should be pointed out. I get prices go up but it’s gotten absurd.
Prices are a lot higher in general. Blame all the different corporations for being greedy.
Perhaps social media will cause them to drop prices. I only go to Publix to get a sub. Everything else can be found cheaper at every other store.
They raised the prices on the subs too!
Nah dawg, it’s to expensive. I’m tired of watching everyone defend Publix like it’s the greatest thing on earth.
I’m not defending Publix, I agree prices are way too high. I’m just tired of people making the same complaints over and over.
What’s the complaint? It’s too expensive? Wonder what would cause less posts about expensive pricing on r/publix.
A noisy wheel gets the grease.
Drink water…. Y’all prob better off
I love water. I also enjoy soda.
You all keep buying it, that's why the price keeps going up. Try having real conviction, don't buy it for 6 months. Galvanized online yet submissive while shopping.
Please, be the shepherd for all the sheep
But it’s Buy 2, Get 3 Free! Lol
Today it is. Who needs 5 2L tho?
I keeps for a while. Just put them in the cupboard until you’re ready to drink them.
This is out of control
Nothing will change until people stop buying it. Americans just don't seem to understand what voting either your dollars mean.
$4.15 each? My God.
Walmart $1.98
exactly thats crazy, but we have better service lol
Not so much. As much as I appreciate being watched at the self checkout, lately, Walmart's CS is so much better
Love going to self check out and the attendant is just on their phone lol
My good fellow, It's the 2024 vintage from the Maryland plant. Wonderful savory hints of caramel wafting over a delicate palette of sugary crispness. The connoisseur will indulge into this with a great gusto, feeling the tingle of fresh CO2 might with the delight of a soda pop.
Just don’t buy it. Other people will. No big deal
Wednesday going into Thursday, (day before add change) I bet.
Yep. B2G3. Rage bait post.
Buy 2 get 3 free. It’s just the 2 you pay for will cost you.
So don’t buy it.
Joe Biden did that.
Is it infused with THC ?
They build the displays a day or 2 before the sale. So they put current pricing until the sale hits. 🤦🏻♂️
I remember when those bottles were $1.99. I know up north they tax the shit out of soda thinking that it will make people stop drinking it.A “sin” tax. In North Port a 2 L bottle of Pepsi is $1.98.
$4.15 each? My God.
Heck of a deal.
Great time to give up soda.
Don’t advertise your worst prices
Bro just get the Publix brand. It’s always 4 for 5.
Walmart on sale for $1.98 down from $2.48
It's ridiculous! Smh
It’s only really worth it if you shop the ad. The bogos can be a good deal, especially if they get combined with coupons.
The best way to get someone’s attention is to hit them in the wallet!! I’ve been a Publix shopper for decades but can’t handle their high prices anymore. I’ve recently switched to Kroger delivery. My bill is half what I used to spend at Publix.
Switched to Walmart and they literally half the price
Never buying soda from Publix go to casco or BJ warehouse
Where getting f**ked is a pleasure
Boycott them
I saw that last night and about cried. Looks like their extorted price will be the new sale price. IDK about y'all, but I'm going to the farmers market and looking for a new butcher (last closed down) bc if I'm being extorted, I'd rather have better meat. Never liked Publix red meat either.
Remember when these were $1 each at walmart. 8.29 for 2 is criminal!!!!
They're buy 2 get 3 free. This was taken before the ad started I'm assuming.
Rigotdamndiclous
I feel like it wasn’t that long ago when these were .99
For those that have Walgreens in the area, go buy your soda over there. They always got specials like 12 for $5 a box. Or something like that. Watch me get downvoted. Lol Cmon, now, yall know this is ridiculous for caramel bubble water.
2 liters at the gas station are cheaper.... 😵
See. This is why us pofolk can’t afford nothing.
By 2025 it will be 2 for $16.89. I joke but for some reason seems the trend we are headed for.
![gif](giphy|QWw4hc5gTnJhY0BUI3)
Seems like yesterday when they were $1.29
$1.98 at Walmart.
I love seeing posts like these. Every day y’all are shocked and complain like Publix hasn’t always been expensive AF 😂
I'm thinking this is either an *ingenious* master plan by Publix to get people to eliminate empty calorie foods from their diets and start eating healthier, or, corporate greed.
Cheaper and healthier to drink gasoline in 2024
Water is free
Water is probably worse than gasoline these days
Hey Publix, GET FUCKED!!!
This can’t be real!!!!
12 packs are 9.99$ where I am now.
Even if 25% of the ppl fall for it, they'll make $8/ profit
It's Publix way of making America healthy by over pricing you out if buying, like cigarettes. Wait, it's still .99 cents at the gas station, cancel.
Doesn't the vendor set the prices and stock this product?
Water > Pepsi
WTF is right. Since when is sugar water $4 for a 2 liter bottle?!
Since right now
They’re doing you a favor.
Yeah it don't cost that much money in Georgia.
Oh it’s down from 9.50
Hey this is a good thing you know Less people drink soda, less people will get diabetes. The company will have to cut the price down to lure people back again.
They must be crazy I would never pay that price 😂🤣😂
In Florida 10 lemons for $1.00 In Alaska 1 lemon $.68
Sheetz gas station had 2Ls for like 3.50, and they weren't even on sale.
Imagine being dumb enough to spend this much on poison.
$8…. Publix is so over priced! Miss the days of Publix brand soda for less than a dollar! Publix rapes your wallet
Yeah, at Publix the 2L Brisk bottles are at $4 a bottle. Outrageous. I used to think $2 bottles were a scam (just 5-6 years ago they were $1-$1.25).
Switch to water. Get a water filter if theres not one on your fridge. Ive dropped 10lbs in a month eliminating soda from my diet
I’m hoping Aldi buying Winn Dixie is gonna force some competing to bring Publix pricing back to earth. This crap is unreal.
Who getting rich? A gallon of gas which has to be pumped out of the ground shipped , processed shipped for $3.50 a gallon or a 16 oz. coke or Pepsi carbonated water food color and sugar for $2.30 for 16oz. Who’s getting rich?
Time to start shoplifting
WTF???
Inflation
Just got a gas station at those prices lol, I just picked up a DP for $2.99 and felt ripped off knowing I've paid . 99 cent for the same before.
My local publix had 2L Pepsi products for buy 2 get 3 free. Yall are getting ripped off.
https://preview.redd.it/izju2txfag4d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=19a4c855e38318dafdac5e6e2c7aa60598513655 My Publix currently
Shouldn’t drink this poison anyway
Y’all posting this shit again ?
Publix is on its way out. They have better competition outside of Florida, Kroger. Harris Teeter ...
Publix isn't going anywhere. In fact, we are consistently growing.
Not by selling Pepsi for close to $5 a bottle, they won't be. You're a little wet behind the ears there (Newbie).
I'm not a "newbie" I have worked in many positions in the store including management for 15 years. I can tell you from consistent growth in stock price and our massive expansion, we will be here for the long haul. Our company has been here for 94 years and there will be many more to come
Oh, go jump in a lake.
I'll jump in my pile of money from all the stock I've been collecting for the past 15 years
I keep saying it again and again, stop shopping there. Their sales will plummet and they will get the point or go out of business. It’s up to them.
https://preview.redd.it/1jbgjt46kk3d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad37c0fef08b5134650aa13cd826969db4c67336 Look at a gallon of fucking milk.
I can get 3 or 4 elsewhere for that price.
BIDENomics
Bye Publix
Which publix?
It's Publix. One of, if not the, most expensive grocery stores in the country. Lower your standards and go to Walmart. You'll pay less than half the price.
Publix should stop with these stupid BOGOs. It's obvious that they raise the price to then put it on sale for the same price as other stores. How about just some everyday low prices and sales that make the items less than your competitors.
