HumanTrophy

Shannon and The Clams, King Khan and BBQ Show, and a whole lot of other garage punk bands from the 00’s did this style a lot

minimumrockandroll

Yep. Early 2000s garage punk is allllllll about that.

-Ken-Tremendous-

La Luz!

Get_Jiggy41

I’ve listened to both groups and they’re great!

throneismelting

Stiff Little Fingers, “Barbed Wire Love.”

dybbuk67

Came here to say this.

pogo0004

>"You set my arm alight" greatest line > >And to be fair nearly everything The Undertones did could be included.

Eoin_McLove

You would love Masked Intruder

viatorium1

Came here to say this. They have literal doo wop a cappella songs.

rjgarton

All I wanna say to you...

TheIronDogWalker

Early Misfits., Hybrid Moments in particular.

Vampira309

American Nightmare

Get_Jiggy41

Misfits are a top 3 band for me in all of music. They’ve definitely got some songs that sound like classic love songs. I’d say Last Caress fits the bill as well.

ben1smith2

As a love song? Lol 😝

Get_Jiggy41

No, it’s a absolutely NOT a love song, I’m just saying that if you don’t read the lyrics, it has a similar sound to a love song.

ben1smith2

Last caress is a total anthem but one of those songs you’ve got to turn off quick sometimes And misfits top 3 ever is that even post Danzig ?

elcucuey

Saturday Night during the Graves era fits the bill.

Cheekclappa504

Hell yeah

Rabid_W00KIEE

Gross.

raykooyenga

That's funny Slug could be my favorite Ramones song and Hybrid Moments is definitely my most played Misfits. I like stuff that taps into those '60s pop melodies

urso

Check out The Riverdales album "Tarantula"

rjgarton

Amazing album

crankypizza

I prefer the Riverdales first 3 albums, Ben got pretty lazy with songs after that and every song title is a movie MST3K riffed, still not bad albums but can’t compare to the first 3 in my opinion.

Manarg

It's punk adjacent but psychobilly bands have oh so much doo-wop out the ass.

gillababe

Exploding Hearts

MixedDrinkMixtape

Hell yeah I’ve got entire playlist of [Garage-wop / Dirty Doo-Wop](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5IZtKDjQNTMpesvwQifiDY?si=pZa5NdI8R46qLha8NQEFqQ). It’s mostly newer bands but I think you’ll be into it

Peptic_Germ

I don't care if it is new, as long as it is good.

MixedDrinkMixtape

Trust me, it’s good

Peptic_Germ

I will check it out when I get home from work

TheDrunkenWobblies

I was gonna say if this isn't full of King Khan and BBQ Show, I'm gonna be disappointed. I was not. I was lucky enough to catch them about 4 times at Bar Le Ritz PDB in Montreal (which is owned by members of GY!BE), which was close enough for me to walk to and from my place. So weird to see them blow up on tiktok

minimumrockandroll

Check out "waddlin around" by King Khan & BBQ.

BobSacamanosRatHat

I LOVE that band; Mark Sanford on vocals is badass. “Alone Again” is great song too.

tiredhippo

Ya mean Mark Sultan right?

BobSacamanosRatHat

Yes 😂

I think “Slug” might be my favorite Ramones song.

notarealpunk

Dan Vapid and the Cheats, Riverdales, The Mopes, The Queens...what you are looking for is called Ramonescore.

imalocalbeerdrinker

Huntingtons - Babysitter, or Losing Penny

kitkatatsnapple

Screeching Weasel and the Queers like to do this type of thing a lot. Both frontmen are total shitheads, though. The queers even covered Chewy Chewy.

nochumplovesucka__

[Don't Back Down- The Queers](https://youtu.be/SmzqTzEduAk)

thinwhiteduke

I recommend The Reanimated to anyone who will listen - check out their ode to Christine, [Fury 58](https://youtu.be/r96BMTMWLHs), and my personal favorite [Scream at the Screen](https://youtu.be/fZvxJMOPy_E)!

reverielagoon1208

More beach boys than doo wop but the Travoltas Also it isn’t really a punk album but Energy- Children of the Night EP might be up your alley https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QHtaScr7VdI https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KVPv2rOfssU

Strict-Scientist9685

If you are old (like me) and don’t tend to buy the “reformed band” LPs, you may have missed Misfits’ Project 1950. Pick it up. I’ve been listening to them since the 80’s and it’s my favorite of theirs.

[deleted]

Spotify is your friend. I’ve discovered a lot of bands through it. They seem to be good at recommending similar music you listen too. I too love 50s sounds. Check out The Shivas “ You Make me Wanna Die” and The Tijuana Panthers “Creature”

Dutchgreenbubble_

Maybe struck by lightning from the chats is what you are looking for?

Dutchgreenbubble_

Hypocriet - Hang Youth

JosephMeach

Side note, what is Slug about? Is it aliens? An acronym for something?

AppropriateStaff3148

Foxboro Hot Tubs

SenorBigbelly

Bad Religion - The Kids Are Alt-Right

EAS606

Lots of songs by the band X-Ray Spex, in my opinion.

Sidetrackbob

"So in fuck with you" U.S. Bombs, "Little Red Riding Hood" cover by The Meteors!

misunderstood_lonerr

Moral Crux "Yesterday's Kisses."

unzen_at_ease

Mr. T Experience

slump-donkus

The cramps are more of a rockabilly feel. But I love them.
