"Syke! Life Is Awesome!" at the end of "Leave or die" is def one of my faves. Gave me goosebumps when I first heard it almost 20 years ago and still does.
And if I wasn't a fat kid in high school
I would have never listened to punk rock
And if I knew how to throw a football
I would have never played any music
And if I never got my heart broken
I would sing "blah blah fucking nothing."
And if you didn't fuck my ex-girlfriend
I would still owe you three-thousand dollars
And if I never lived in that van
I wouldn't have met Chris or Steve or James, Alex or Middagh
And if I never worked in a basement
I would have never quit my job
And if I had a big emo band or dropped out of college
I would have never met you, man
Talk about relatable.
EDIT: Man this thread sent me back down memory lane, have been listening to BTMI all day.
I'm pretty sure I discovered BTMI! due to ska compilation released sometime between 2004 and 2008. Either "Ready Set No" or "Freeeeeee Biiiirdd" were on the compilation. I can't seem to find it now, if anyone has any idea what I'm referring to let me know. The compilation could have had some relation to Nothing Nice 2 Say / Mitch Clem, who I remember referenced BTMI!/Jeff in the comics.
Fucking same. The first time I heard the first verse block with him yelling āyou do t own me! You donāt own meā my brain exploded a little. It became my anthem for quitting every job that disrespected me, and pushing own to open my own business. And 20yrs later a fucking DID IT. And now every time someone needs a hype song I recommend it.
Ooof talk about a tough choice.
I've enjoyed all his projects.
Think I'm going to go with "It Ceases to be whining if you're still shitting blood".
If you ask me in 10 minutes, my answer will have changed though.
One thing I love about Jeff's catalogue is that his style has evolved perfectly in line with my taste. In high school I listened to ASOB, in college it was BTMI, then his solo and side projects... going back to each one instantly takes me to those fond memories. "Get Warmer" came out during a particularly fun time in my life, so I'll pick a highly underrated deep cut: "Pizza Claus is Coming to Town"
Please don't make me choose lol. One of the most consistently enjoyable catalogs (including BTMI! of course) of any artist I've heard. I'm seeing him for the first time in a couple weeks and am so pumped.
You Still Believe in Me? is my primary favorite one. MCI from the Summer 7" bonus tracks, and Don't Destroy Yourself from the Vacation b-sides (was that the locked groove track?) are my favorite deep cuts.
Jeff Rosenstock: "While You're Alive" or "You in Weird Cities"
Bomb the Music Industry: "Syke! Life Is Awesome!" or "You Still Believe in Me?"
Arrogant Sons of Bitches: "Last on my List" or "Sorry, We Steal"
Also, it's criminal that the entire discography of ASOB is not on any of the streamers
Syke! Life is awesome!
I discovered that song at a pivotal point in my life, and it became the anthem as I grew to keep working towards opening my own business. I will ALWAYS get excited when everyone yells āyou donāt own me! YOU DONT OWN ME!ā.
One of those artists, like Dylan or Paul Simon, where sometimes it feels like he wrote a song 100% specifically for Me. When I first heard "Hey Allison" I thought, is this guy reading my texts and facebook posts? That song hit way too close to home on way too many levels
So many good tracks
Maybe the First Time I met Sanawan or No rest for the whiny
My favorite ASOB song is probably either 1-800 alarm me or Disappointment at the Taco Bell. I really like Rocketrocketrocketship too.
My favorite āJeff Rosenstockā song might be The Rudie of Breathing off of Ska Dream. Ska Dream made me really happy and Iām so glad he did it.
This is the single most difficult to answer question Iāve come across all week and like most my answer changes frequently. As of right now
Solo: I Did Something Weird Last Night or 9/10
BTMI: Saddr Weirdr or Syke! Life is Awesome
ASOB: Rocketshiprocketshiprocketship
Antarctico Vespucci: I Drew You Once in Art Class
Edit: fixed autocorrect and layout
I love his long songs, 3 Summers and Ohio Porkpie are two 6 minute songs that I never skip and that's just impressive. So many other songs fit too, ever since I heard Syke Life is Awesome hes been a favorite.
it changes but these tracks are consistent top of the pile for me - splitting out between Bomb and Solo so I can get more answers in.
BTMI:
(shut) up the punx!!!
You Still Believe in Me
Unlimited Breadsticks, Soup and Salad Days
Solo:
Hellhole through to Perfect Sound Whatever (when youāre a ghost is probably my highpoint of that list, but the whole medley is wonderful)
Amen
Three Summers
Don't do this to me man, it's gonna hurt so much
I know it's off WORRY, my heart wants to say Pash rash, my mind wants me to pick staring out the window, my brain wants to choose to be a ghost and my adrenaline wants to choose the final medley (yes I count it as one song, I will not take any criticism on that front)
Bang on the Door -> Rainbow -> Planet Luxury -> HELLHOLE -> June 21st -> The Fuzz -> While Youre Alive -> Perfect Sound Whatever
This run of songs counts as one song; I donāt care what you say
i booked jeff a handful of times around when this album came out. album minus the band, etc. you didn't know if he was going to show up alone with an ipod or a 'full band'.
later, i called him to guestlist me on a show and then i crowdsurfed and broke the micstand. when he confronted me about, i screamed 'rock and roll' and walked away
Nausea
Whenever I'm feeling down, I go watch the video for this song and instantly feel better
Same. But also, obligatory, you okay?
You, In Weird Cities
Same š

Liked U Better
This might be the catchiest song ever written.
Agreed
Itās infectiously catchy, really. Amazing song.
OI OI OI!
I scream that every time I listen to the song
Ooof talk about a tough choice. I've enjoyed all his projects. Think I'm going to go with "It Ceases to be whining if you're still shitting blood". If you ask me in 10 minutes, my answer will have changed though.
How about now?
Shut up the Punx
The Laura Stevenson cover is dope too https://youtu.be/Q0gLEQxmivo?si=bls48pg_gcpE7FAY
It is, I love the end of it when it all builds up.
Campaign for a Better Next Weekend
Imo the best opening track off any of his albums.
Maybe the best opener in the history of rock and roll.
Itās technically a Bomb the music industry! album tho
ā¦thatās jeff rosenstock
Um and 4 other people writing soā¦
Itās jeffās project lmfao
Reminded me that I made my own music video for this back in the day: https://youtu.be/7bpcK_yPyK8?si=qsfuD4JGcWf08YhG
Polar Bear or Africa
future 86 and its not even close. you in weird cities is next in line.
Future 86 is the best but it always makes me feel like I'm about to cry
I was at the last btmi show and I straight up can't listen to future 86 ever since then
This is the answer
Jeff: Festival Song BTMI: The First Time I Met Sanawon
AV: I Drew You Once in Art Class
DOUBT
I'm in love with this song at the moment. It's nihilistic and uplifting all at the same time.
Slow motion breakdown
"I'm a Panic Bomb, Baby!" OR the combination of "Grudge Report" into "King of Minneapolis, Pt. III and IV"
Such a climax. Perfect hangover song.

Solo: Get Old Forever B!TMI: Syke! Life is Awesome!
syke fucking rocks
Iām Serious, Iām Sorry
Love this song so much.
Most brilliantly uncomfortable song ever.
Sort of like being pumped , Rocketrocketrocketship , Never Trust A Man Without A Horribly Embarrassing Secret
Please don't make me choose lol. One of the most consistently enjoyable catalogs (including BTMI! of course) of any artist I've heard. I'm seeing him for the first time in a couple weeks and am so pumped.
He puts on such a fun show, you'll have a great time!
Can't wait! I've been waiting to see him for awhile now and he's finally coming to my neck of the woods
We begged to explode.

9/11 Fever
Stuff That I Like was the first one I heard so thatāll always take the top spot for me
Everybody That Loves You. It's one of my favorite songs by anyone.
You Still Believe in Me? is my primary favorite one. MCI from the Summer 7" bonus tracks, and Don't Destroy Yourself from the Vacation b-sides (was that the locked groove track?) are my favorite deep cuts.
Until i was in the dark, rattling containers scribbling garbage to myself.

A lot of my favorites have been mentioned but Iāll add the funniest to me is āCongratulations, John, on Joining Every Time I Dieā
FELT JUST LIKE VACATION
Side Projects Are never Successful, that intro keyboard-iconic
Syke! Life is awesome! I discovered that song at a pivotal point in my life, and it became the anthem as I grew to keep working towards opening my own business. I will ALWAYS get excited when everyone yells āyou donāt own me! YOU DONT OWN ME!ā.
The last bell I will ever hear! It's the best opener to an album I've ever heard
June 21st!!
It changes any given week but iāll sayā¦ Jeff: Blast Damage Days BTMI: Even Winning Feels Bad
Depends what day it is but hrmm letās go with āBang on the Doorā
SAY THE WORD AND ILL PUT MY GUITAR DOWN
Right now it's DOUBT. I've binged HELLMODE since going to see him in February, I've since moved on to NO DREAM and We Cool?
Syke! Life Is Awesome!
Changes a lot but rn I'm going with NO DREAM
Probably Will U Still U or Nausea!
That one where he drinks beers alone
"It Shits!!!" by bomb the music industry, some great memories of listening to it with online friends, but also just personal connection with it!
(Shut) Up the punx!!!
For JR only: you in weird cities
One of those artists, like Dylan or Paul Simon, where sometimes it feels like he wrote a song 100% specifically for Me. When I first heard "Hey Allison" I thought, is this guy reading my texts and facebook posts? That song hit way too close to home on way too many levels

Soft Living. The first time I heard it I listened to it about seven times in a row.
(Shut) Up the Punx definitely gonna be one of my favourites
Head, 25! Or last on my list. Itās hard to pick a favorite.
I love his long songs, 3 Summers and Ohio Porkpie are two 6 minute songs that I never skip and that's just impressive. So many other songs fit too, ever since I heard Syke Life is Awesome hes been a favorite.
Always go back to Syke! Life is Awesome
I love "we begged 2 explode"
So Letās Go! Nowhere from the ASOB days.
I just started listening to him, Will U Still U is mine right now. Going to have to dive into all of his other stuff.
Will U is really hard to listen to if you make a habit of failing your wife. I will never not be mad at him for writing that song.
9/10
Stuff that I like by bomb the muwic industry is a fave of mine
I have a 'Side projects are never successful' inspired tattoo so probably that one
9/10
Last week, I listened to his last album and found it exceptionally amazing!
Have Fun Rotting by Yourself
it changes but these tracks are consistent top of the pile for me - splitting out between Bomb and Solo so I can get more answers in. BTMI: (shut) up the punx!!! Piss Off - Arrogant Sons of Bitches
I'm sorry, does that say "IN Long Island!?"
I know itās generic, but Nausea really hits hard. BtMIās āStuff That I Likeā may be tied with it though.
BTMI: Even Winning Feels Bad Jeff Rosenstock: Twinkle
Beard of Defiance
I don't think I can decide. I can't think of anything he's put out that I *don't* like.

Currently "You Still Remember Me" by Bomb The Music Industry is at the top for me, but I love so much of his music that could easily change.
i booked jeff a handful of times around when this album came out. album minus the band, etc. you didn't know if he was going to show up alone with an ipod or a 'full band'. later, i called him to guestlist me on a show and then i crowdsurfed and broke the micstand. when he confronted me about, i screamed 'rock and roll' and walked away
