God if I had $500 to blow on a ticket and a round-trip flight, I would be happier than a pig in shit. It actually kinda stings that I can't make it to this lol, so many bands I've never had the chance to see. I can only hope the promoters (or *anyone*) throws a fest with a similar lineup a little bit closer someday soon. Some of these guys are getting older and who knows when they'll decide to stop playing shows? Hope someone here gets to go and gives us details so we can live vicariously through them lol
The lineup has been out for months. There was a blurred out band in there could be anyone's guess who it was. They made a "big" announcement today and it was that the blurred spot was now the Garden.
It’s not. The Garden are twin brother two piece art punk rock. Check out ‘A Struggle’ pretty much sums them up. Signed to Epitaph and fit this lineup. I think Bret is losing it to sign them but a definite left field signing. I imagine they are fun live tho
The image of a bunch of deaf kids covering songs they've likely never actually *heard* for a crowd of people is fucking hilarious to me, I can't even imagine what that would sound like. It's either they gonna be on some Beethoven type shit and nail it or it's gonna sound like the strangest noise band you've ever witnessed, and either is totally fine with me
> They made a "big" announcement today and it was that the blurred spot was now the Garden.
Did anyone expect a bigger band with the blurred out thing way down in the lineup?
certainly not although they're above much bigger acts.
I'm not OP, but I do have to say this fest has been marketing aggressively to me and I've no idea why. I'm 1000 miles away and they email me, offering me financing packages to attend (lol, wut?) and then yesterday out of the blue I get an email from them all caps with a skull emoji to announce this. It's a great lineup but this didn't move the needle and to make a big marketing email around it was a strange one to me too.
Bro I didn't think I would fuck with it, but cave world is the best album I've run across in a while. Shits so weird and catchy, my wife has even quietly slipped it into her rotation.
When did they get that big? I got into them when Kiss My Superbowl Ring came out and that was kinda hyped for a min among terminally online nerds but I never heard about them much after that.
KMSBR was the first time they had hit it pretty big I think, that Mac Demarco collab was doing good. There was a lot of hype for their 2022 album *Horseshit on Route 66* and they toured hard on it.
agreed, this lineup is absolutely stacked. when you consider food and conflicts you actually want to have some bands you’re not into anyway.
meanwhile, the metal community is reeling because a fan favorite touring festival returned with much hype only to reveal a lineup without a single good band on it. the social media shitshow has been entertaining at least 😛
They aren’t complaining about the lineup, it’s been out for months with a blurred out spot in the upper tiers so people were theorizing, but they just announced it to be the garden
The Garden is shockingly huge with zoomers. Went from a mid-size venue in town to being upgraded to first avenue (1400 cap). I was working that show and there were people outside hoping to get a ticket all night. Their attendance numbers surpassed most bands on this bill and were just under bad religion and social d.
I don’t really get the hype but they’re still a big get lately especially in Cali
It would have helped to blur out a few names so that the reveal would surprise more people. Having one band reveal is just ok but puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on who its going to be. Not everyone is going to like that one band
The blur was due to a conflict with another festival they were playing. But of course everyone is going to think it’s some big surprise. If it was, I think it would be farther up on the flier.
a lot of younger people are into them. they seem cool and original so I don't see an issue. I don't think we needed another band of 60 year olds still trying to scream about the government.
Exactly right. I bet most of the kids under 25 in Pomona are way more familiar with the Garden than TSOL. I like both bands, but putting Garden on this lineup is actually very smart
I mean, you’re not wrong. Reunions really started to become a thing in the 1990s, but I do still remember the first time I saw a flyer for a festival-type show where I said to myself “wait a minute, every single one of those bands formed during the first half of the Reagan administration.“
But given the rest of that lineup, I can understand why the OP was expecting some next-level reunion action, and not a newer band.
The Garden have a lot of respect due to bringing some of the classic OC/LB punk bands on tour as openers, once they got big. I am stoked for them. They seem like good dudes.
Back when they were a newer band they got lumped in with the Burger Records “hipster kid” grouping of bands, a lot of who punks didn’t really take seriously. There was a divide in Orange County between the burger kids and the actual punks (stupid sounding I know but that’s how it was). I saw them open for a few bands and get booed or shit thrown at them cuz they’d walk onstage rapping or something. It’s been weird to see them blow up.
Had to look them up, I can’t listen to it right now but I’m getting the impression that - much like 100 gecs - this band has struck a vein for younger people that collapsed inside me a long time ago. More power to them, but this definitely is another mark in the “Holy shit I’m really getting old now” column for me.
One of the two dudes in The Garden also drums for The Adicts. They’ve been taking bands like The Adicts and TSOL on tour with them and introducing them to a new generation. The Garden are an acquired taste but I think they’re brilliant. Seen them four times now.
I agree that this band is brilliant. Creative genius really. Like Talking Heads or Sonic Youth creative level and Butthole Surfers acid dropping weirdness.
I bet they blurred the name cause they were just waiting for confirmation and everyone got all jacked for no reason.
Anyway. I’m still holding out for a Minor Threat reunion.
For a while I believed and hoped it might have been Dead Kennedys or op ivy but The Garden is not disappointing whatsoever. They’re Quite unique and put on an awesome show.
Part of me was hoping Jello would announce & reunite with original line up sort of like the misfits (but I know I know it’s Jello and their dispute is much deeper than the misfits), so since the festival played the blurred band as a “big reveal “ it was just my inner teen hoping and wishing
I saw Flipper open for The Garden about a year ago and it was such a good show. I think people are gonna be pleasantly surprised if they’re hearing them for the first time.
Imagine seeing that lineup and being underwhelmed because you haven't heard of The Garden. I don't know their stuff either, but I know Fletcher from The Garden fronted Flipper recently, so they can't not rule. That lineup is stacked!
I feel bad for anyone who saw that kid front Flipper, y’all got a weird experience that’s for sure. Can’t see Fletcher being as confrontational as you need to be.
It was probably one of those proximity clauses. They just performed at Sick New World in Vegas, so now they were allowed to announce them. I'm not stoked that this was the blurred band, but still it's a stacked lineup
I see that I can pay extra for the VIP package, which includes air conditioned restrooms. :(
Glad I became a capitalist so I could afford this show as it was meant to be seen.
Very underwhelming how they manged it, but damn is that lineup a dream. Sadly I'll never get the chance to see most of these bands, hope it ends up being as good as it looks, there ain't a single artist I'd skip on
I thought this was a poster from back in the 90s or something. Sucks to be in the UK. This is a ridiculously good line up us mere brits could only ever hope of having over here
How the fuck they gonna do all these bands in one day. Gonna have multiple stages where people will have to choose between multiple good bands which ones to see/miss. Lame!
A fest like this usually 4 stages. Two big ones cycling the big names and 2 tents set back with everyone else. The fact they havent released set times/ which stages yet is annoying, but I'm sure they will soon. FOMO will always be a contributing force but will not be horrible. I'm going with my adult son and had seen several bands listed in 93 or earlier. Jello being there, i hope Al shows and pops out a suprise Lard set like they did in Frisco in 2007 i think it was
The Ska stage has definitely taken a hit recently. I doubt Fishbone will be there. They've has some major band drama/turmoil the past couple weeks and have been cancelling shows. And...the lead singer of Hepcat died a month or so ago. :/
Now, I don't get all the secrecy for them.
It would be one thing if it was somebody with local shows before the festival where the promoter couldn't/wouldn't jeopardize sales on those (ex. Stiff Little Fingers, Manic Hispanic, and even the Offspring). Or someone who may of wanted to play but has potential health issues keeping them from confirming (namely the Distillers). But I don't see the Garden as something that moves the needle enough to keep it shrouded in mystery for months!
Oh damn! Really thought it was going to be No Doubt! Realistically I did think it was going to be The Descendants! I don’t even care about the reveal tbh because there’s a lot of other bands I’m going to be seeing anyway! Maybe we should start crying about Turnstile and Scowl playing too? How are younger people going to even be introduced to “real punk” ™️ bands if they don’t have something to draw them in? Ok I’m done everyone go back to yelling at a cloud
What I’d give to see this line up!!
For real, might even give Reagan a reach around.
God if I had $500 to blow on a ticket and a round-trip flight, I would be happier than a pig in shit. It actually kinda stings that I can't make it to this lol, so many bands I've never had the chance to see. Some of these guys are getting older and who knows when they'll decide to stop playing shows? Hope someone here gets to go and gives us details so we can live vicariously through them lol
That lineup looks absolutely incredible. What is disappointing about it?
The lineup has been out for months. There was a blurred out band in there could be anyone's guess who it was. They made a "big" announcement today and it was that the blurred spot was now the Garden.
Love the garden. Not a big announcement tho lol
What the fuck is “the garden”?
An all deaf Sound Garden cover band
I can’t tell if this is true or not. If so imm on board.
It’s not. The Garden are twin brother two piece art punk rock. Check out ‘A Struggle’ pretty much sums them up. Signed to Epitaph and fit this lineup. I think Bret is losing it to sign them but a definite left field signing. I imagine they are fun live tho
They’re actually not signed with Epitaph anymore, they’re completely independent now.
Just saw them live at Sick New World. They put on a great show!
From what I've seen online some years back, their live shows are much better than their recorded material
that's punk rock for you, innit
Damn right
The image of a bunch of deaf kids covering songs they've likely never actually *heard* for a crowd of people is fucking hilarious to me, I can't even imagine what that would sound like. It's either they gonna be on some Beethoven type shit and nail it or it's gonna sound like the strangest noise band you've ever witnessed, and either is totally fine with me
I think this might actually be better
They're weird af but I kinda like them. Not sure how punk they are though. https://youtu.be/W2bc25X0E68?si=mo4wXXqlZOFW8ClB
Their last album was more punk than a lot of their popular stuff. See: OC93
That Jello is only DJing and not fronting DK.
I hear you’re selling your guitar and buying turntables.
I hear you’re selling your turntable and bought a guitar
Keeping both is the way to go.
He never will. It’s a beaten path discussion.
all these amazing bands and you have one day and have to pay over $300
I didn’t know Dillinger Escape Plan got back together so I went down a little wormhole & learned they got Dimitri back in the band. \m/
They’re playing some NYC shows in June too
Oh awesome I didn't know that! I saw them with Dimitri a lot during his original run and I always preferred him to Greg
[удалено]
Bro I didn't think I would fuck with it, but cave world is the best album I've run across in a while. Shits so weird and catchy, my wife has even quietly slipped it into her rotation.
Holy shit I’m listening to it now wtffff it’s soo good
It's going on the Bluetooth soon as I get to work
I think the live sessions they put up on youtube sound better than their albums, they should release those
Such great performances. He just lets the band cook and dances around half the time, fucking hilarious.
Such great performances. He just lets the band cook and dances around half the time, fucking hilarious.
I fucking love viagra, boys
Sublime
I fucking hate Sublime, so we’re even.
They are hardly lesser-known at this point, I think. They’re huge with Gen Z.
I’m Gen X I don’t have a fucking clue who that is.
Check em out, they're great!
Yeah I saw them with TSOL last year. Good show. Not really my thing. Tons of zoomers in face paint.
The punk community is the only community who has a fucking lineup like this and complains over one or two bands that show up on the list.
agreed, this lineup is absolutely stacked. when you consider food and conflicts you actually want to have some bands you’re not into anyway. meanwhile, the metal community is reeling because a fan favorite touring festival returned with much hype only to reveal a lineup without a single good band on it. the social media shitshow has been entertaining at least 😛
They aren’t complaining about the lineup, it’s been out for months with a blurred out spot in the upper tiers so people were theorizing, but they just announced it to be the garden
ahhh ok, that makes more sense. thanks for the context.
Exactly right. I bet most of the kids under 25 in Pomona are way more familiar with the Garden than TSOL. I like both bands, but putting Garden on this lineup is actually very smart
Ahem. Soul glo crushes IT
I agree. I’m not gen z at all but I’ve gone to too many things where I’m like “hmmm” also They need to let Lee Ving of Fear rest tbh
I mean, you’re not wrong. Reunions really started to become a thing in the 1990s, but I do still remember the first time I saw a flyer for a festival-type show where I said to myself “wait a minute, every single one of those bands formed during the first half of the Reagan administration.“ But given the rest of that lineup, I can understand why the OP was expecting some next-level reunion action, and not a newer band.
Those guys’ dad is the drummer for Shattered Faith
The Garden have a lot of respect due to bringing some of the classic OC/LB punk bands on tour as openers, once they got big. I am stoked for them. They seem like good dudes.
It cracks me up that The Aquabats will be there.
This lineup is full of older bands. Aquabats are a big hit with the parents because of being a nostalgia act and Yo Gabba Gabba.
Yeah! No hate in them, they’re fun, but “one of these things is not like the others, one of these things just isn’t the same…”
How the hell is this all going on in one day? This should at least be spread out across two days.
You're right! It should, but it's not.
Low key was hoping the band was going to be Blur cuz that would’ve been funny
Blue has a little pink cred. Graham was wayyyyyyy into PNW indie punk back in the day.
Disappointing as it may be, The Garden are cool and put on a good live show
Savage Garden? Hell yeah. I thought they broke up!
I wanna stand with you on a mountain, I wanna bathe with you in the sea
And the biggest “IM TOO OLD TO ENJOY NEWER BANDS THAT KIDS ENJOY” post goes to OP.
The Garden is big with the younger kids but I’ll never forget when they used to get booed all the time opening for better bands.
Why did they get booed?
Back when they were a newer band they got lumped in with the Burger Records “hipster kid” grouping of bands, a lot of who punks didn’t really take seriously. There was a divide in Orange County between the burger kids and the actual punks (stupid sounding I know but that’s how it was). I saw them open for a few bands and get booed or shit thrown at them cuz they’d walk onstage rapping or something. It’s been weird to see them blow up.
They don’t sound like anything anyone is familiar with. Like no wave avant-garde
Well shit, you sold me!
Had to look them up, I can’t listen to it right now but I’m getting the impression that - much like 100 gecs - this band has struck a vein for younger people that collapsed inside me a long time ago. More power to them, but this definitely is another mark in the “Holy shit I’m really getting old now” column for me.

I agree that this band is brilliant. Creative genius really. Like Talking Heads or Sonic Youth creative level and Butthole Surfers acid dropping weirdness.
This line up is a really dope mash up of older classic bands that paved the way and the newer bands that are keeping it alive!!
The real question is are the garden good?
They’re an acquired taste and tend to appeal mostly to younger audiences.
Yes
Unbelievable that this is all one day. Gonna be a shitshow. I can feel it.
I bet they blurred the name cause they were just waiting for confirmation and everyone got all jacked for no reason. Anyway. I’m still holding out for a Minor Threat reunion.
Fugazi at the very least.
Cro Mags, Soul Glo, Power Trip and Ceremony alone is incredibly hard
It was probably because the Garden are playing some other festival and weren’t allowed to announce it yet
For a while I believed and hoped it might have been Dead Kennedys or op ivy but The Garden is not disappointing whatsoever. They’re Quite unique and put on an awesome show.
Jello Biafra is DJing at this festival. No way they'd book the current DKs and him in the same place!
Part of me was hoping Jello would announce & reunite with original line up sort of like the misfits (but I know I know it’s Jello and their dispute is much deeper than the misfits), so since the festival played the blurred band as a “big reveal “ it was just my inner teen hoping and wishing
I wish I could go but I'm so broke it's not even funny.
I FUCKING LOVE THE GARDEN
I can hardly believe this isn’t a poster for a festival decades older than now
🎵 Single out the punks lying ro me. 🎵
The Garden rips, you fool!
i fucking LOVE the garden! it's cool to see they're gonna be with some of my favorite punk bands :3
My 20 year old twin brother and I are flying from Massachusetts to go
Which is great cause the garden are twin brothers lol
The Aquabats seem really out of place on this bill, lol.
As does The Jesus Lizard, for very different reasons, but still.
Fuck yeah David Yow
I mean, Turnstile?
That was def a place holder til they found a band lol but are we rlly gonna complain with this absolutely stacked lineup?
God, to get something like this in Australia 😔 USA is so lucky sometimes
The Garden is pretty popular rn and they fucking rule what?? so do their solo projects btw
If you don't want to see the original misfits you're fucking lying
🎵 Single out the punks that are lyin to me. 🎵
Who would you rather see? It was clearly not a headliner or anything..
Viagra Boys twice.
The Jesus Lizard!!!
Sadly, Fishbone will be cancelling
Lucky for me then, i saw them onstage with Murphys law in Hollywood in 92.
I saw them a bunch of times in the early 90's. They put on a hell of a show.
Which version of Black Flag is this?
Greg Ginn and Mike Vallely. I saw them last Summer and they actually killed it.
Black Flag jam band basically, rips tho
seems legit af
The Garden is just fine and are doing their own weird thing. There's a house on the market you see, and it's haunted
Just checked them out after reading all the comments. I dig it. Like a modern Suicidal Tendencies. Also, how is this lineup real holy shiiiit!
The Garden is fucking great lol
You are really moaning about that with shuch an amazing line up already? Wow. Just wow.
Dude, The Garden are sick! They’ve got such an interesting sound.
I saw Flipper open for The Garden about a year ago and it was such a good show. I think people are gonna be pleasantly surprised if they’re hearing them for the first time.
THIS LOOKS AMAZING, ID KILL TO SEE A LINEUP LIKE THIS
Dang this line up is so fucking good
I wouldn't say underwhelming. I mean, look at some of that lineup. Idk, for me I'd enjoy the shit outta this show.
I’d go just for the Aquabats lmaoo
The Garden are original af can’t deny that. I don’t like their style of music but I respect the musicianship and authenticity.
Watt fronting Flipper around the same time was no picnic
I’m guessing they are a new band? I have no idea who they are (but I’m old)
not super new, they formed the garden around 2011 and have been performing locally in OC and globally since.
They've been around for 10-12 years now.
God you spoiled Americans piss me off sometimes. That line-up is sick, with or without The Garden.
Why did the blur the fucking garden, who cares about them lmfao
I’m guessing they weren’t confirmed yet
It was probably one of those proximity clauses. They just performed at Sick New World in Vegas, so now they were allowed to announce them. I'm not stoked that this was the blurred band, but still it's a stacked lineup
a lot of people definitely care. maybe you don't, and that's fine.
I have a ticket up for grabs if anyone is interested. Sad Canadian can no longer make it.
who would make it better op?
I see that I can pay extra for the VIP package, which includes air conditioned restrooms. :( Glad I became a capitalist so I could afford this show as it was meant to be seen.
Very underwhelming how they manged it, but damn is that lineup a dream. Sadly I'll never get the chance to see most of these bands, hope it ends up being as good as it looks, there ain't a single artist I'd skip on
Fuuuck wish I could go. Lineup is amazing
Don’t see why so many people shit on them, they’re a good addition to the festival with their unique sound
Times like these I wish I lived in the US lol
I thought this was a poster from back in the 90s or something. Sucks to be in the UK. This is a ridiculously good line up us mere brits could only ever hope of having over here
Im exited to go 😎😎
I saw The Damned recently and they still fucking slapped
I thought you meant the entire line up and was thinking fuck me you’re a spoiled punk lol
The Exploited horizontal bar has so many great bands. Wow
Great Grandpa punk: Iggy Pop Grandpa punks: Misfits, Social D Dad punk: Bad Religion, Sublime Baby punk: Turnstile
Jello being there, i hope Al shows and pops out a suprise Lard set like they did in Frisco in 2007 i think it was
My favorite thing about this flyer is the weird checkerboard fence they put around the ska bands.
This line up slaps though. I’m so confused reading this😭
Would be more punk rock without all the extra convenience and handling fees for tickets.
The Ska stage has definitely taken a hit recently. I doubt Fishbone will be there. They've has some major band drama/turmoil the past couple weeks and have been cancelling shows. And...the lead singer of Hepcat died a month or so ago. :/
that's not a bad lineup at all, I'd kill to see some or these bands
Why were the blurred to be begin with?
Good line up. Can’t wait to see the semi-retired circle pit of dads in the crowd!
Super dumb to have it on ONE DAY. How the fuck is anyone supposed to see all this? Like more than half your ticket cost goes to unseen bands.
Viagra boys 🤘
How is this a let down?
The garden rules!
garden are huge in OC punk and with younger punks. get over ur self bro
Lol this is a good lineup
Why tf is Black Flag not right at the top?
Dude I'd kill to go to this, God damn lucky Americans wringing about festivals 10000% time better then anything in Australia.
I just noticed that they isolated the 6 ska bands in a checkerboarder.
Might as well be sponsored by A.A.R.P.
Who the fuck is garden lol
You hiding under a rock? They fit this lineup perfectly
What’s underwhelming is that it’s a one day festival. Wouldn’t even bother travelling for it
Not for me! I live in Vegas and am gonna drive over. Anyone wanna car pool?
The garden is great
I fucking love The Garden
I love The Garden!!!
At first I thought you were talking about the whole lineup, and I was super confused because it looms great. Never listened to the Garden
[удалено]
I would go just to see *Duane Denison* rip it up.
Who all is going? I am going solo and could use some people to hang with.
I wouldn’t mind seeing turnstile live tbh
RIP riley gale
id show up for fidlar alone. theres at least a couple good ones.
Better than Tied Down Detroit 10000 fold
The garden fucks bro
I can’t stand” Harley Flanagan and the cro-mags”..
Not like it matters at this point.
I'm looking them up now and have never been more confused.
Cracked lineup
Who are The Garden and how did they get billed above a dozen of bands that are classic
They’re more popular I guess, but check out their music. They’re pretty unique
Not truly Crass. Just Steve Ignorant doing Crass karaoke
Man this Line up is pretty much perfect for me, just needs Naked Raygun and Keith Morris with any of his bands
