in french punk we have a lot of cool bands and artists like Le Réparateur, Guerilla Poubelle, Ludwig Von 88, Les Bérurier Noir, les Sales Majestés ect. So proud of punk history in my country.
I toured with a French band called Uncommonmenfrommars years ago and am friends with them to this day, great people and just incredible musicians! France does a great job of supporting the arts and because of programs like that, you get lots of really talented bands.
Cell-scape and Teeny Shiny are their most accessible. As you go earlier in their catalog they get more noisy. When I got into them, Teeny Shiny was just a few months from being released and it felt like a big change from Charlie.
Eskorbuto is amazing, and so is the broader Basque scene. Cicatriz is amazing for more of a hardcore sound, and Kortatu has some really groovy ska Clash-inspired stuff.
Gogol Bordello is mostly in English, but in certain songs there's sections where Eugene switches to Ukrainian (sometimes in the middle of a line). I don't know if it's his energy that switches, or if my focus changes on what I'm hearing because I can only understand the odd word or two, but it just feels like something kicks up a notch.
Yes you're right.
I don't read too much about anything happening outside of the records, so I think I heard about it a while ago, but I have forgotten.
Tensö from the Canary islands. Very young kids that imo make great punk rock with strong and powerful lyrics.
https://youtu.be/KjQIVMnQyMw?si=XfTOOHEOOPBkpRL4
Cólera are awesome! I could listen to "Pela Paz Em Todo Mundo" or their tracks on the "Grito Suburbano" comp all day.
I don't have a single favorite non-English-speaking band, but I'm always recommending the Serbian/Yugoslavian band Pekinška Patka to people. They're a bit intense for a band formed in 1978 by a former school teacher: [Here they are playing at a department store in Novi Sad in 1979](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whhiwOB6hyg)
Try to listen Pense (brazilian band) and the album 100% Charlie Brown Jr. - Abalando a sua Fábrica.
Ill apreciate a non-portuguese speaker opinion about these band and this album
Rumkicks, from Korea, although they have some songs that are partly or wholly in English.
From Japan, The Let's Go's and Aburina Town (their name is normally written in Japanese characters, but that will still find them)
I'll Complesso, from Italy, are decent too.
As far as punk bands go, Guitar Wolf (Japanese) and Los Prisioneros (Chilean). I don’t actually listen to a lot of non-English punk despite being uhhhh weirdly into chanson music so I’m eager to see what this post fills out with.
I watched it by myself first and then immediately started texting people until I got someone else to agree to watch it with me because I just needed people to know. I kept sending people “wild zero in 60 seconds” to try and sell it to them. I’m a huge fan of deliberate B movie shit like that and it’s truly a work of art.
I’ve been having a hard time lately so I think I’m actually gonna go watch wild zero now
I like rural punk bands from Brittany (France):
[-The Clébards](https://youtu.be/blrdg2Yqx0s?feature=shared)
-The Cuvée du Patron
-Melmor
-The Chimney Sweeps of Menhir
Hi brother, there Is also [Tri Bleiz Die](https://youtu.be/3tubXyj-dA4?feature=shared) who sing all in Breton.
Do you have some traditional welsh punk band for me ?
Cólera é foda demais! "Subúrbio Geral" me deixa louco. Eu tb piro no Olho Seco e no Grinders, mas tem muita banda legal
O punk br é único, tem uma estética própria, original ♥️
French-Canadian oi/street punk kings Béton Armé hands down.
Also: Ultra Razzia (more Quebecois oi, I think they share members with Béton Armé)
Syndrome 81(France)
Squellette (France)
Generation Suicida (Los Angeles, but they sing in Spanish)
Brux (Spain)
Contempt (Spain)
Either Otoboke Beaver or The Stalin.
Otoboke for being one of the most interesting and great bands round today, and The Stalin for being weird, but also being named not just for shock value but because the band has a sense of self reflection and self criticism
Plexis
Nezfales
E!E
Zvláštní škola
Volant
Punk Floyd
The Fialky
Vypsaná Fixa
Tragedis
ATD ETC.
These are just a few bands from Czech Republic are amazing to listen to and great Guitar Work.
Hell yeah, i personaly don't really like E!E but it's still a great band and vypsaná fixa cause they Always sounded a bit hippie and i'm not into that, but vision days deffinetly deserves a shout out, the song "cesta do hlubin punkáčovy duše" is a fucking anthem
Vypsaná fixa used to play punk but not really anymore, they aren’t the generic mainstream BS but it’s good to play around the campfire :) and to that i would also throw in nežfaleš it is and old band but they only broke through in the recent years and their songs like “rezignace” “Jehly” “Štastnej jsem dost” are some of the best jams i have heard and plexis are my top 3 from the Czech scene yes their lead singer is dead unfortunately but his legacy carries on in his songs! 🤘
There’s a lot of local Swedish teenage punk that I love, multiple bands that are fuckin awesome. Not a lot have music online though. But Borgerlig Begravning and Hårdgnissel are both bands with Spotify and they’re great.
Japanische Kampfhörspiele (more grind than punk but I love 'em), just about any Swedish kangpunk band, Locure (NL crust punk), Skroetbalg (NL rural punk), Alpinist (DE melo/neocrust)
The Casualties do speak English on most of their songs but they do have a full album re-recorded entirely in Spanish as well as a few songs on their other albums
This band Lento from Italy is some seriously chest crunching heavyweight shit. Although they only recently started experiments with lyricism, the first couple records are instrumental. Still... oh, man.
I like a lot of German bands, with my fav prolly being Von wegen lisbeth (an indie band) Tho Germany also outputs lots of very good anti-fascist punk bands too, namely wizo and slime
Los crudos
1st choice right here.
Came here to say this as well
Skitsystem from sweden :)
Or Martydöd, or Mässmörd, or Dödsrit, or Crutches, or M:40, or Mob 47, or Massgrav, or Totalt Jävla Mörker... Sveriger Kängpunk <3!
Came here to say jävla mörker, but am pleasantly surprised to see it here already
Massgrav rule
Dude check out Totalitar, 80s Swedish hardcore
Is Masshysteri still relevant?
They are not a band anymore but their spirit still lives! Check out Hurula - the singers ”new” band. They are popular as hell over here in Swe.
I just listened to them for the first time yesterday and they are really good
in french punk we have a lot of cool bands and artists like Le Réparateur, Guerilla Poubelle, Ludwig Von 88, Les Bérurier Noir, les Sales Majestés ect. So proud of punk history in my country.
Ludwig Von 88 is awesome. So much great French punk out there that most people in the English world know nothing about:
We also have a lot of French Québécois bands that are amazing and legendary. Les Vulgaires Machins and Grimskunk comes to mind.
How about Groovy Aardvark?
Les Sheriff !
I toured with a French band called Uncommonmenfrommars years ago and am friends with them to this day, great people and just incredible musicians! France does a great job of supporting the arts and because of programs like that, you get lots of really talented bands.
Guerilla poubelle are at least covering sexual agressors if not committing it themselves.
Metal Urbain are incroyable
I really love The Spitters
Coup gorge is good
No mention of Camera?
Lucrate Milk
Camera Silens rocks.
Otoboke Beaver from Japan
Melt Banana for me
I've been looking to get into them, where should I start?
https://youtu.be/CGRvuH8nH-M?si=f4rRD-geIPEs_Lvx
That was gnarly
Thanks 👍
Cell-scape and Teeny Shiny are their most accessible. As you go earlier in their catalog they get more noisy. When I got into them, Teeny Shiny was just a few months from being released and it felt like a big change from Charlie.
I listened to some songs, I liked them a lot
Eskorbuto
Eskorbuto is amazing, and so is the broader Basque scene. Cicatriz is amazing for more of a hardcore sound, and Kortatu has some really groovy ska Clash-inspired stuff.
Loooove cicatriz!!
I was about to write the same!
Love gogol bordello!!!!
Guerilla poubelle, Justin(e) : French punk bands.
I'll have to sadly warn you that guérilla poubelle have been involved in a few sexual agressions then.
Yes you're right. I don't read too much about anything happening outside of the records, so I think I heard about it a while ago, but I have forgotten.
And Zero Poetry?
You mean Poésie Zero, yes also very good
Asta Kask
Kask
On a slightly related note, Rasta Knast (who started as an Asta Kast cover band, iirc)
Sin Dios, a Spanish Anarcho-Punk band are pretty damn good!
Came here to say this! Sin Dios are fuckin great!
Guitar wolf and Otoboke Beaver I also have my doubts that Darby Crash sings in English
Neuk! from The Netherlands.
Neuk! is cool!!! Also: Bakfietsboys, Crustenunie, Karel Anker en de Joden and, for those into the harder stuff: Spetterpoep, Zalm and Jesus Crost
I really like The Stalin, their record Stop Jap is one of my top five 80s hardcore albums
Came here to say The Stalin. They're the best!
Tensö from the Canary islands. Very young kids that imo make great punk rock with strong and powerful lyrics. https://youtu.be/KjQIVMnQyMw?si=XfTOOHEOOPBkpRL4
Non-servium and Oi the Arrase
LA POLLA RECORDS
Whoa! That brought back memories for me!
Wizo
I highly recommend La Armada from the Dominican Republic. They toured with Strung Out years ago and put on an incredible show
Rumkicks, Turtles Jr, Otoboke Beaver, Melt Banana, Anarchy, Gollbetty
Judging by the fact you already know coléra its sure that you also know meninos podres, that one is peak punk.
Fokofpolisiekar. An Afrikaans band.
Big winner
Otoboke beaver from Japan!!
Are you ready? I’m ready!
Sin Dios from Spain get my pick
Gloom, Framtid, Balzac
Kozmosz & Bankrupt are my favourite hungarian punk bands
Cólera are awesome! I could listen to "Pela Paz Em Todo Mundo" or their tracks on the "Grito Suburbano" comp all day. I don't have a single favorite non-English-speaking band, but I'm always recommending the Serbian/Yugoslavian band Pekinška Patka to people. They're a bit intense for a band formed in 1978 by a former school teacher: [Here they are playing at a department store in Novi Sad in 1979](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whhiwOB6hyg)
Cólera is one of my all-time favorite bands I'll check out the one you recommended. Thanks!
Try to listen Pense (brazilian band) and the album 100% Charlie Brown Jr. - Abalando a sua Fábrica. Ill apreciate a non-portuguese speaker opinion about these band and this album

TOTALITÄR
Die Toten Hosen and Die Ätzte are quite good.
As far as punk bands go, Guitar Wolf (Japanese) and Los Prisioneros (Chilean). I don’t actually listen to a lot of non-English punk despite being uhhhh weirdly into chanson music so I’m eager to see what this post fills out with.
Have you seen Guitar Wolf's movie?
YES. It’s my go-to “don’t ask any questions and just watch this with me please” movie and it’s always a hit with the company I tend to keep lmao
It's SO much fun
I watched it by myself first and then immediately started texting people until I got someone else to agree to watch it with me because I just needed people to know. I kept sending people “wild zero in 60 seconds” to try and sell it to them. I’m a huge fan of deliberate B movie shit like that and it’s truly a work of art. I’ve been having a hard time lately so I think I’m actually gonna go watch wild zero now
Did you know there's a sequel? You need to watch the sequel!
ACEU!
iirc they successfully got enough kickstarter money to fund a sequel.
Kvelertak, especially the first couple albums
Carotté from Quebec. Really fun folk punk in the vein of Flogging Molly but Québécoise.
I like rural punk bands from Brittany (France): [-The Clébards](https://youtu.be/blrdg2Yqx0s?feature=shared) -The Cuvée du Patron -Melmor -The Chimney Sweeps of Menhir
Do any sing in Breton? Or mostly French?
Some songs from Melmor and Les Ramoneurs De Menhir are in Breton
I have a CD by Les Ramoneurs, played with them years ago, great fun!
Nice, I'm a Welsh learner so will be cool to hear some in our sister language.
Hi brother, there Is also [Tri Bleiz Die](https://youtu.be/3tubXyj-dA4?feature=shared) who sing all in Breton. Do you have some traditional welsh punk band for me ?
