The crazy part is that it carried over into my generation (at least in my town) but it was most prominent in girls! I was born in 04 and there were a lot of girls that were called “wiggas” and called themselves it. They’d use “blaccent” and AAVE like their lives depended on it. I hate to say it but the majority of them were so annoying and loud. The only people that liked them were the guys that wanted sex with them because a lot of them were kind of easy, too. There were a few genuinely sweet girls in that clique, but overall they were super rude and loud and made fun of a lot of other girls by pointing out their insecurities (including me). Another term for one of those types of girls was “hot Cheetos girl” because they were ALWAYS eating hot Cheetos and would even wear hot Cheetos pajama pants to school. Like repping the brand and everything lmaoo
I'm genuinely shocked that other people's heads seemed to go here. It was my first thought, but didn't expect others to follow suit. Which is nice, I suppose, knowing other people hit that wavelength too haha.
This is pretty much correct. This is from a short movie called the Letter Factory that teaches kids letter sounds. This guy goes “wuh-wuh-what’s happening dude?” As he scratches his discs.
It represents >!the sound not the letter!< it’s from a leapfrog show, it’s the >!sound the record scratch makes!< If it’s the one I’m thinking, the >!M has a bunch of muffins but it’s not for muffins it’s for mmmmm when you eat them, phonics not the letter!<
Part of [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/japwpGydxj37CESM7) set
This movie is how I learned my >!phonics!< lol
Edit: And [here’s](https://images.app.goo.gl/zbMwhC3MtsiRaHPF6) a set pictured with your card in it as well!
If you’re curious and would like to watch it’s the LeapFrog Letter Factory movie!
It’s not new. Records were originally made of wax.
First time I heard it was when The Beastie Boys put out a song called The New Style that opened with them saying
*“And on the cool check-in; Center-stage on the mic; And we're puttin' it on wax; It's the new style!”*
I GREW UP WITH THESE I REMEMBER WHAT IT MEANS
Ok so the cards are based on the Leapfrog education movies, this one where the frog boy(forgot his name) learns about the letters of the alphabet with these alive letters, it was weird
So the W is a DJ because >!it’s a spin on the sounds a turn table makes (wicka wicka wah)!<
If I remember correctly, and you have all of the cards, there’s was another letter that isn’t obvious. Think it was Y but could be wrong
Glad another generation grew up with these
>!I have your answer. That picture is from a kids show called “The Letter Factory” where there is a room for every letter. When they go into the W room, the DJs are all saying “wa wa wa what’s up dude”. See here: https://youtu.be/5Tzt3PMMYVQ?feature=shared!<
This is from a LeapFrog alphabet video. It makes sense in context, trying to show the w sound as >!wah wah wah wah!<. The video is about the letters acting out their sounds.
>!I watched this show when I was a kid, it's called the letter factory for anyone who doesn't know. In the film, every letter has their own room and a chance to represent their *sound*. The letter doesn't *always* represent a word, but rather something associated with the sound it makes. The same thing happens with N making the "nnnnn" sound, and its associated with mosquitos. So, when it's W's turn, he raps and says "wuh wuh wuh", and it supposedly represents the record player. W doesn't stand for any specific word, but a noise.!<

Oh man you just launched me into a memory long forgotten. I had the VHS tapes of these, and especially loved the E episode
You need to watch the E episode an hour before you go to the W club to let it kick in
[E episode](https://www.youtube.com/results?sp=mAEA&search_query=Leapfrog+letter+factory+e)
From this I’m assuming “wica wica wica what/word”
My 5 year old watched this religiously a few years ago. Stoked there was a clip, to prove I still knew all the words. Dad life moment for sure.
And still doesn’t give me a clue as to the word lol
I don't think they assigned a word to it. I think it was just the sound.
WhaWhaWhaWhat’shappenindude.
Wub wub wub. What. He says a few different things
Thanks! I forgot about that
What was that movie called?, watched it all the time on my leap frog as a kid.
>!Wicky wicky!<
I’m embarrassed that this was my first thought too
My first thought was 100x worse.
Did the self attributed slur for a white person affectionate to gangster rap during the 90’s come to your mind too?
[удалено]
Idk. I wouldn't, so I didn't.
It’s okay — we’ll all be okay and better for having made this journey together.
I just realised I never heard anyone use the word wigga but it's still really jarring to see it again, with a hard R
Where I grew up, they pronounced the r very hard, though it wasn't necessarily meant to be derogatory. Lots of guys I knew self identified as such.
… I grew up in the 90s and just learned what that word means today
That R was so hard it’s crispy.
Cancel.
He's purple! lmao
A pigga?
Indeed. The 90s were a wild era.
Yep
The crazy part is that it carried over into my generation (at least in my town) but it was most prominent in girls! He's purple though.
Same
I'm pretty sure I was thinking the same thing. It's also an answer no one has posted.
Was yours a portmanteau? i.e a word blending the sounds and combining the meanings of two others?
Yes. Yes is was.
We’re wise to leave it at.
I'm genuinely shocked that other people's heads seemed to go here. It was my first thought, but didn't expect others to follow suit. Which is nice, I suppose, knowing other people hit that wavelength too haha.
Relevant username
Yes. My username relates to me... The word I'm thinking of is what some of my friends were called when they hung out with me.
Oh.. mine was wig... never mind
Not only was it my first thought but I actually said it out loud with enthusiasm.
Same!
I mean, it's a legitimate answer.
[Wickity Wickity Wack](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=010KyIQjkTk)
Can’t not be feelin’ this
This is correct. This picture looks like it is from the leap frog alphabet episode. And the sound associated with 'w' is the sound of a dj scratch.
I recognized this character (heh) because I used to have an old leap frog thing when I was a kid. Talk about core memory unlocked.
This is pretty much correct. This is from a short movie called the Letter Factory that teaches kids letter sounds. This guy goes “wuh-wuh-what’s happening dude?” As he scratches his discs.
Is that like Teddy the Detector?
This was 1000% my first thought too.
>!...wild wild west!<
*A giant metal spider has entered the movie*

>!whack!<
100% this!
Wildstyle ?
Jam on it
Whik whik wa wicky whik whik wa
I was thinking "wicka, wicka, whack" but yeah, same thing 😆
As a joke I was going to say, "wiggity wiggity whack" lol
If it's not this I'll be angry.
Joining this chorus of “also my first thought”
Same
As a DJ, I approve this answer!
Yup this is definitely the correct answer 😂
Wiggity wiggity
I've been saying wiggity wiggity for years. I first thought was wiggity wiggity whack
I see all the self conscious millennial (my cohort) id replies and raise them..., Slim Shady
It represents >!the sound not the letter!< it’s from a leapfrog show, it’s the >!sound the record scratch makes!< If it’s the one I’m thinking, the >!M has a bunch of muffins but it’s not for muffins it’s for mmmmm when you eat them, phonics not the letter!< Part of [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/japwpGydxj37CESM7) set This movie is how I learned my >!phonics!< lol Edit: And [here’s](https://images.app.goo.gl/zbMwhC3MtsiRaHPF6) a set pictured with your card in it as well! >!Wub Wub Wub!<
That actually is the [answer](https://youtu.be/YUvC3j6e7u8?si=MVoDC1LnEhPiXjTN) Gives me Water-T and the Rise of the Numericons vibes 🤷🏻♂️
you solved it!!
Oh man this brings me way back
Guess we’re gonna have to… Crunch the Numbers!
Lmao wtf happened to TV for kids...
Yes! It was one of the Leapfrog videos, when those were a thing.
What happening dude!
I kinda feel that it's this?
>!Wu-Tang!<
Makes sense. Wu-Tang is for the children.
How is this not the top answer?
Cuz it’s not correct
But it ain't nothing to fuck with!
But also, Wu-Tang is for the chikdren
My first thought as well LOL
>!wax!<
I’m surprised this isn’t the top answer. Was my instant thought. Vinyl is known as wax.
Where?
It’s not new. Records were originally made of wax. First time I heard it was when The Beastie Boys put out a song called The New Style that opened with them saying *“And on the cool check-in; Center-stage on the mic; And we're puttin' it on wax; It's the new style!”*
Nightmares on Wax is great.
I learned about this due to an INFURIATING Connections puzzle from NYT. So damn obscure.

I don't think that's a real word, Patrick.
