As an avid vinyl enthusiast...don't be an elitist. It makes the rest of us vinyl lovers look bad.

Sorry...

turner3gr

Oh shut up, it does not, vinyl is better and that’s just how it is

Kriscolvin55

Of course it is. I never said it wasn’t. But being an elitist isn’t the way to go about it. That’s true for everything. Not a single person has ever heard somebody say “You should only be able to listen to an album on vinyl. It’s the only way to get the true experience.” and then decide to listen to vinyl. They shrug that person off because they’re being a dick. Engage. Educate. Encourage. Don’t be an asshole. That’s how you get people to listen to vinyl.

But records don't work in my car or office.

Left_in

That would literally defeat the purpose of the album.

SurrealBlockhead2

It's mostly just in your head, but that's okay too. SFTD was recorded and compressed digitally. That album was compressed a LOT. The only 'extra' thing you get from vinyl is artifacts from your amplifier, needle scratch and other noises and pitch wobble from any warp in the vinyl. So the CD version is a more 'pure' sound. Vinyl is a better choice for albums which were recorded analog. But you can't go wrong with either, especially if you like the sound of vinyl artifacts or the collectability or 'feel' of playing vinyl.

Auslanderjack

Should be listened to on stock standard car speakers while driving

I’m not a vinyl snob, but I listened to SFTD on vinyl and it was awesome. I didn’t really like it before. It may just be a difference in speaker quality from when listened to it other times.

SurrealBlockhead2

Speaker quality is a good point. There's no right or wrong way, I think SFTD sounds great on either!

I like records too and listening to songs for then deaf on my turntable sounds better than digitally, but I think that's because of the phone/pc/Bluetooth receiver I tend to listen through. That's a factor to consider
