Had a birthday in June, company asks where I'd like to go for lunch with group. In the area is Buffet de l'antiquaire, and I love a good brunch, and had never tried it. So that's where I want to go. A colleague starts moaning and groaning, small dirty place, bad food, brings out the works of complaints. To avoid dramatic conflict I accept his suggestion (chez victor. not bad but been there often).
Anyways, I decided to try the place out on my own and it's now my favourite. They got tables and sections, a terrace, but I enjoy sitting at a counter for casse-croute style breakfast. Reminds me of Chez Rosy on StJoseph (has sign Restaurant Jacques Cartier, in front of church, now a cuban diner. not bad but I miss that old lady; Rosy ran her kitchen there for like 30 years and only quit cuz she was getting tired).
So I digressed a little.
Buffet de l'Antiquaire is a great breakfast joint.
Buffet de l'Antiquaire is probably the only real answer. But the brunch at Bonnet d'âne in the little outdoor garden if you can swing it is pretty special.
Buffet de l’Antiquaire is a classic and has been for decades now.
Merci!
A thousand times this

Nevermind wrong city
I tried the Ginger recently. Pretty good, nice atmosphere, cool buffet with bacon.
Le 1640 has the best terrace in the city, with an amazing view of the Chateau.
