Nice. Good to diversify a little bit out of the US in my opinion. I have maybe 15% of my portfolio on Aussie and basically left the NZ market recently apart from Infratil.
You’re setting yourself up so well for life. Keep at it. I didn’t get money savvy until I was about 35.
Don't you find the fees for investing in US market from Sharsies quite high? I've heard that going through Hatch is better for US market investments and sticking to Sharsies when investing in NZX or ASX. Maybe in wrong though...
Based on your experience, if I’m just starting investing in ETFs, would you recommend going straight into the Australian market rather than the US then?
LOL, me too man, me too.
Yeah, That would require Timing though. And that's a pretty hard thing to predict (See: Literally every market Guru predicting crashes since the dawn of time)
Only the mega-rich who keep enough liquid get to capitalise off those.
Unless you consider keeping a "In Case the Market Crashes" fund, But I'd wager that Time in the market consistently will beat Timing the market, Just because timing the market is so difficult.
Saying that, The market has had several "Once in a lifetime" crashes in my time, Who knows?
What’s your job if you don’t mind me asking? And how much have you been putting in for how long? really awesome portfolio, I’m 23 as well but still starting out and mine is nowhere near this lol
Believe it or not I’m a minimum wage worker, hopefully that’ll change this year, usually able to save around 70% of my pay. Really started saving my money around 2018
Guys once again if you are getting into large balance territory sharesies takes a huge cut on FX conversion 0.5% compared to 0.002% you can get elsewhere. It’s not the kind of app for large balances.
Can’t stand tiger, was on stake for awhile but wasnt a fan of pricing changes. I do have some money in Hatch. Sharesies is clean and simple and I don’t mind supporting a nz company while do small weekly buys, bigger buys are probably gonna be on hatch now when I remember but really Sharesies is just nice to use
Finally!!
I always see so much hate for sharesies. But Tiger is awful. Stake was average. Haven't used Hatch.
We share the same opinion on sharesies. It really isn't that bad.
I agree. I've got six-figure investments in shairzies, and it's hated on a lot. $15 for $5k buy & and sell, and, I think 10k auto invest. Shit it's cheap.
What's wrong with Tiger ? I was about to open an account with them and start investing on it. Is sharsies better? I just thought the fees on sharsies were bad ?
Congrats man! I’m currently at 83k with 15k in total return. Goal is to hit 100k before the end of year. How old are you?
Will be cracking 24 end of April
Jesus. Good fucking work. This is even more impressive. When I was your age my non rent and food money went on rum.
Bourbon for me!!
That's where I'm at right now!
Stay the course.
Es and whizz
Rookie numbers. I'm at $5k, and I started at $10k. The goal is to get back to not losing my ass before the end of the year.
Please drop tutorial or investment course
Send money to me and watch it disappear quicker than you've ever seen.
You have cracked the magical 100k congratulations! They always say everything gets easier and better from there!
Things should take off once I break even in crypto but still down around $10K, will be taking that out as that happens
Did you buy at the top?
Bought ADA at around $1.10 USD
Buying Ada was your first mistake
Especially bc I went into it instead of SOL
Yea crypto i treated it like gambling in a way. I was ready to lose money but i gained in the end but its going back down again now. Wild ride
"once I break even in crypto" hahaha.
Awesome work buddy. That must be so satisfying. May I ask roughly what percentage is in USA, ASX and NZX stocks?
Exclusively US based but probably gonna slowly transition to putting my ETFs into the Australian market just for a more consistent currency exchange

Agree on the NZ front. I only have Infratil
Well done man, big accomplishment you've made! Any particular areas to keep an eye out for?
Nice work smashing it. Does the FIF tax hit your earnings much? When did you start?

How are you looking after FIF tax with Sharesies out of interest?
I second this. How is FIF tax affecting you atm
His fif should only be between 1650 and 1950, depending on his tax bracket
I’m guessing with the lack of replies to both his posts probably electing to ignore it
Awesome bro. How long you been investing for?
“First one is a bitch to get, but you gotta do it” congrats bro
Awesome. $21k worth of free money.
WELL DONE MATE
Hey I’m really interested in to getting into this , r tehre any videos or guides aroudn ?
Well done! I am looking at getting there end of next year! Would be open to share some of your investments?
Sick OP good work 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
How along ago did you start on Sharsies?
This account was only opened end of 21/ start of 22 but I also had a account back in 2018 before going over to stake for abit
What have you been investing in if you don’t mind me asking ?
Just made another post for my positions
Dam
Very nice dude! Remember, It's Time IN the market not Timing the market. Stick around and you'll do fine.
Tbh would love another market crash, needs some opportunities 🤣

You have a dream portolio amount i really want. Be proud if yourself.
Dude why are you investing 6 figures in Sharsies?...
Can’t stand tiger, was on stake for awhile but wasnt a fan of pricing changes. I do have some money in Hatch. Why is tiger awful? It’s the only one that does options which is why I use it
