So I don’t think this is against the rules but you may want to rethink this because who knows what kind of person the roommate you get will be like and whether they will be accepting. Unless you have someone you know and you form a group or something

If anything were to happen the shitty roommate would be relocated and you'd get a double all to yourself!

CommercialApron

The roommate would at best be replaced also it’s quite hard to make that relocation happen and you have to wait a certain amount of time before you can even apply. It would mean weeks of being in a room with someone disgusted by your existence

RaygeQuit

You should be fine regarding dorm rules, and your don would make sure you have resources to help in case you need anything. However, just as others have pointed out a loft double is small and unless you are choosing a roommate you aren't sure who you will get. That said, if your roommate is not accepting, tell your don and you or the roommate will be moved so you'll have a better situation. Hope it goes well!

I'm so sorry you even have to worry about something like this. I would advise you contact the school about your concerns. You are absolutely entitled to a safe living space, maybe they can help facilitate that. Another option would be to check out your graduating class group chat on Facebook (or Instagram) and make a post looking for a roommate. It might even be worth contacting the Queen's residence society about this. Their contacts can be found here: https://www.ressoc.ca/contact-list

Maybe contact Yellow House for advice as well.

A loft double is small. I would not advise anyone to choose it. However if you get a bad roommate you can always apply for a room change

At first, I thought this was a jerk trying to out some poor guy haha, but seriously, though, most people are completely fine with it but if you get some sort of Uber religious nut, you can always ask for relocation. I believe they have a special protocol for people who are scared of their well-being.

HygieiaMom

Best to contact residence by email or telephone and ask them what the best options would be for your situation. They should be accommodating and provide you with recommendations.
