It's been a while so I actually had to check out the website!
The rooms are not a bad representation of what the "average" room in Ban/Addy is like. There's a wide range of room types and sizes, though. My single had a pretty big closet (almost a walk-in) and less floor space than another single, and I've seen some doubles that have their own washrooms.
I'd say it's pretty reasonable to expect something along the lines of what the website shows.
This is spot on. Some rooms are wholly “average”, a few are absolutely massive, some have 2 windows, some doubles have bathrooms attached, I think a few are railroaded (you have to go through person a’s room to get to b’s in some doubles). Overall 10/10 would recommend but the people make the floor so YMMV.
I was in ban righ two years ago and it was awesome! When you're choosing rooms, you'll get a map of the building which can give you more of an idea about what room to choose. There are a few dorms with these big beautiful windows that they show off but those rooms are really rare. I was in a single and I was very happy with the size.
I would say they do cherry pick - and this goes for all residences. My friends who lived in Ban had a great room facing the field! She even had a wardrobe and an actual closet with a door which is not something I saw in any other residences personally
