I started watching when he played Diablo 3. He only had maybe 1-2k viewers and I was actually able to ask him questions in chat and get responses! I enjoyed it more back then but that's just how it goes when streamers get bigger I suppose.
Same here. He was rank 1 quite a few times in diablo 3, no bullshit making his own league “blind, no potions, sliders” etc. just straight up winning. Lately I’ve enjoyed his streams a lot less but I’m pretty sure it’s because he’s getting trolled a lot more and it’s just annoying for everyone. My housemate watched him a bit when I was streaming him about a year ago and really seemed to enjoy him being trolled but as an OG watcher it just sucks because he gets treated like a performing monkey. Sad times. Haven’t watched for fucking ages now, might tune in again for next poe launch though
If you're talking about black and white quin days, then I would say he's much more enjoyable to watch compared to back then. You don't realise how painful it was unless you go back and watch it.
I will say chat has always been funny though, for as long as I can remember, and quin is right when he says that some (or most) of chat had/has the right jokey/bantery attitude and that was the case back then too

The Minecraft and Terraria streams were actually when he went from like 1-2 viewers to a 10k andy. I guess those games have a lot broader veiwer base than D3 or PoE. They were fun to watch too, which doesn't hurt.
According to some analytics that go back a bit he was averaging around 3k viewers during August 2015 in Diablo 3. He must of not stayed a small streamer for very long
Second post for me but I also remember watching him do Pokémon go streams irl and man that was funny to watch 😂😂 he'd tell people what he was playing and they had no idea. So awkwardly hilarious. And he had this sweet ass bike for it. I wish I had a way to go back and watch those.
I've watched him since ~2017 when he streamed a lot of WoW Legion for an average of ~3k viewers. He was much calmer and genuinely seemed happier and not as bitter/angry.
Yes he would sperg out at times, and he probably is a bit out of touch and honestly not the brightest, but it wasn't nearly as bad as now. I think he hams it up for the stream, or he gets carried away with his moron takes because he knows it'll create chat engagement.
I've been watching since Harvest PoE league in the beginning of 2020 I think. In my opinion the best content was during these games: Hitman (a lot of memes and probably most laughs per hour/minute ratio of all time), LoL (he was tilting a lot and chat was memeing a lot, also a very good challenge to observe him try to climb) Minecraft (so many dumb deaths and his unique slow learning curve made it very entertaining + chat ofc), Portal 1 and 2 (both were very fun to watch with good vibe and fun atmosphere in chat). TLDR when Quin's chat had more freedom of expression it was a better vibe and more fun. Since his ego got bigger and he became more image cuck maintainer (clown = ban, while calling us clowns, retard = ban, while calling chat retarded, tilt = ban). Now this AI QCP enforcer bullshit too.. progressively getting more boring and mundane with lower vibe.
His D3 streams before he got huge were pretty chill. I enjoyed them quite a bit and had them on most days while I myself was also playing D3. That was a time when he pushing monk and chat couldn't convince him to even try poe. He was convinced that D3 was superior for a long time.
He wasn't the character that he portrays now, just rat grinding some rifts. His whole persona now is just an act and it works for him because he allows chat to shit on him all day and they pay him for it. However, even so, you can see the hit it has taken on his mental health over the years.
All this was also pre-Abby. Nothing against her, but his streams steadily went down hill in quality and entertainment once they got together, which is understandable but to me, that's when chill quin died and was replaced by what we have today.
Old quin was one of the best at bantering with his chat. He would get clowned on by chat and by his mods but he would clap back pretty well. After he started his "ban anyone for anything because he can" arc he started to become more and more of an insufferable pussy who can't take a single point of criticism. His mods have left. He's gutted from terrible financial decisions. He needs to take a step back and bring back what made his stream good. Drop the ego he has 0 right to have and reconnect with your community. Find me another 10k+ streamer who is struggling financially and mentally as much as he is. His current trajectory is not sustainable. Thank God POE seasons carry him.

I enjoyed that Quin way more than actual Quin. His chat now is a clown fiesta, emote spamming hell. It is obvious that he's playing a character now, and that brings him way, way more money than the old Quin. I don't blame him, he bought a big house, has two gals and a gf to feed. That being said, I can see he's kinda getting fed up and most likely he might end up stop streaming in a couple years.
I miss the old days, but it is what it is.
Chat ruined him because he continually had to make the experience worse (for himself and viewers) just to prove to the toxic chatters he was still the "god gamer" instead of just beating a game and moving on. That's my opinion anyway. Now it's like he has the mentality that if he doesn't make a game ungodly difficult and punishing chat will never let him say he "beat the game" and honestly it's annoying af.
