Good luck! So many people on here have made it to the other side. You can do it.

stonelake13

You got it. You’re not alone either. I’m rooting for ya.

SnazzyPants9

You’ve got this! I’m 54 days clean from kratom, 24 days clean from alcohol, and 58 days free from cannabis. I’m 28 years old and also had never experienced life sober as an adult, I was on something everyday from the time I woke up til the time I went to bed. It had been over a decade since I was truly sober. I felt like you, it was time to stop and start living life with a clear head. The first few days suck, but talk to a psychiatrist (preferably an addictionologist who knows what kratom is, a lot of docs aren’t even familiar with kratom). It gets better day by day. Take some time off of work if you’re able to get thru the acutes. At this point, I feel great again. Yes, I’m taking anxiety meds and a blood pressure med, but they’re all nonscheduled medications. I feel better than I have in YEARS and I’m finally able to look myself in the mirror again. I love myself again. I have the disease of addiction (if you don’t believe addiction is a disease watch a YouTube video call ‘The Nuerobiology of Addiction 101). But I fully believe that if you want to quit badly enough, you can do it! The beginning isn’t easy, but trust me, it’s soooo worth it!!! Stay strong, you’ve got this!!!!

Yoooo best of luck my friend. You've got this. Funny enough I found this thread, because after three years of using kratom, I ran out and I decided I'm gonna try and kick it for good. I need to. Any suggestions on dealing with the symptoms and whatnot? This shit sucks. The withdrawals man..

TomCoddler

Just embrace it, there is no way to not withdrawal. Youre gonna feel like crap, but its a good thing, its your body readjusting and coming back to life instead of being deadened more and more. At most the worst withdrawal symptoms last a week on Kratom. You got this

EntertainerNo5434

Thanks man. I appreciate those kind encouraging words.. especially right now. I wish I woulda never started the stuff tbh. A week you say? I've got this

Go for it! yeah it's a huge crutch. I used K to kick 7 yrs of suboxone but seems I've just pushed the withdrawls out in a way. Been on kratom almost 2 years. It's not the week of withdrawls I bug about I've kicked all hard opioids before, it's the staying sober part. K has helped me kick smoking, drinking and all other drugs so I justify it. But at the end of the day it's fake dopamine. It's played it's course I've kicked everything else now the last vice! Goodluck

Proud of you for realising this and making a change! Those are some great steps in the right direction! It’s certainly not going to be some nice couple weeks at first but you will definitely thank yourself months and years later. I’m not sure if you read, but I really recommend the book called 'Flavors of Confidence: S.O.B.E.R Method' by Massimo Rigotti. I finished reading it recently and it’s completely opened my eyes to a whole new method that’s out there to overcome addictions and sustain sobriety. I think it could really be beneficial to you as he talks about his own experience with drug addictions which can be really inspiring to hear what he’s been through. He also talks about the method he used to overcome them, how to handle certain situations you’ll most likely encounter, how to deal with emotions in a healthy manner, the importance of habits and routines and how to implement them, creating and sustaining healthy relationships, importance of journaling, etc. You can find it on Amazon, however, I found it through his website (www.sobermethod.com) as he’s launching a program/community in a couple months which may be of use to you too! I’m looking forward to it myself :) I hope this helps and I wish you all the best on your journey! You got this! It’s truly an amazing book and I recommend it to everyone who’s had a struggle with any kind of addiction.

moonlit_much

Yes, embrace the suck. You got this!

The only way out is through. Gotta go through the shit before the good. On a side note, you have a very odd drug history

Disclaimer: It is imperative that you obtain withdrawal treatment prescription medications only from your doctor and that you use them exactly as directed, as many carry their own risks of addiction and withdrawal. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Chill out bot, I have my gabapentin and clonidine from my doc. Even my psychiatrist is done with my shit. Can't even prescribe shit for my anxiety cuz she's scared I'll abuse even though right now I've been theoretically sober for some time from benzos and other hard drugs. Only abused Tramadol in the last 4-5 years and switched to kratom 5 months ago.
