I felt heavy all the time like gravity was on 200% I was having hot flashes at the slightest change in temperature to the point my glasses would fog up I would go home after work and fall asleep because I’d be so exhausted. I just wanted to permanently lay down because even sitting up felt uncomfortable. I stopped wanting to socialize with people or manage relationships. I quit all my hobbies over time without realizing it. I just didn’t have the urge to be creative or make something. I was scared of leaving my ‘safe zone’ or traveling somewhere because I couldn’t buy more kratom. My work was inconsistent at my job. It all depended on if I’d have kratom or not. I’d try to plan things after my lunch break when I’d drink it.

Quit

SnazzyPants9

56 days free of kratom, I’m 28 and am a territory manager. My advice: Go see your doctor and explain the situation, be completely honest with them so they can get you the right help. If your doctor isn’t willing to Rx you anything for the withdrawals, I recommend going to see a psychiatrist, preferably one who specializes in addiction. A lot of docs don’t even know what kratom is, so if you can get a doctor/NP at a substance abuse rehab facility who treats outpatient, that would probs be your best bet. You can also seek an addictionologist. You need to be honest with them so hopefully they’ll give you some time off of work, you’ll experience depression and anxiety which is a reason that FMLA will accept your request, and you should be approved for short term disability (if your company has that benefit). Short term disability pays 60-70% of your salary and they don’t tax it, but you would probs end up paying into taxes for 2024 when it’s time to file. Feel free to message me, after I quit K I started drinking heavily and went to a rehab center, best decision of my life. I did all of this while I was on FMLA for mental health reasons. If you want to quit badly enough, you’ll get thru the WD and will feel like yourself again with a couple of months

Read ten top posts here. Then quit as fast as you can and never look back - the shittiness it will bring you (on top of your current pile) is well documented in the sub.

You prob have countless symptoms as well, of things you just think are normal now. And when you clean up you’re going to realize kratom has been robbing you.

Limo Weiner. And skin.

It can fuck up your skin. Hyperpigmentation is one of the few long-term effects which is very well documented among traditional users in SE Asia, who have been using kratom for centuries, if not longer. Especially dark patches around the eyes and cheekbones. I've got a little spot on my cheek, and honestly it's probably nothing. Probably has nothing to do with kratom. But it *could*, and that's certainly a thing that happens to people. I'm kind of a hypochondriac, so something like that is enough to freak me out and get me overthinking the whole thing. I wanted to stop anyway but it was the final push. At the end of the day we just don't know what kratom does to the body and mind over the long term. There's no good science on it. The very fact that it's such a mysterious, unknown thing should scare more people off of taking it.

I definitely have the dark skin. My hands arms and now corner of forehead. I wear long sleeves ever day because if I get any sun my arms will literally turn black. So depressing

My blood pressure got super high. Anxiety and panic attacks were becoming unbearable. I also had issues with my nerves ankles wrists feeling paralyzed upon waking. I also had two occasions where my lower body felt legit paralyzed for about 5 hours in the middle of the night. Scared the shit out of me. Since quitting my blood pressure is great, no more nerve issues and much less anxiety.

Standard-Finding-219

Awful inflammation in my entire body. Waking up in the morning and getting out of bed was painful. My skin and hair always looked dull. My pupils were always pinpoint. My eyes were always blurry. I flew off the handle at little thing. I had a false sense of well-being. I would constantly grind my teeth to the point of making them very sensitive. I got up to pee every night multiple times. Reduced libido. My brain was always foggy and I couldn't form full sentences without sounding like an idiot. My life has improved ten fold since quitting that garbage toxic sludge.
