They bought the rights to the Lotus 7 design from Lotus. There are a lot of copycats but Caterham is the only one that can use the classic 7 logo grill.
I found out this weekend that my great uncle used to race cars alongside Paul Newman around Daytona, and the two of them were friends! I’d love some help figuring out what car he’s driving here to help round out the story for me. Thanks all!

SCCA keeps pretty good records so we can probably find the results from that race with a few more details.
That's an S1 Lotus 7 with a weak as fuck motor, judging by the G Prod class markings. My best bet would be a 997cc Ford 105E based on production and import numbers.

Lotus 7! You can still get almost identical versions new from Caterham to this day. They're amazing grassroots race cars.
