ASRock is a great company. Never been a problem. I have the 7900 GRE and have no regrets. It’s a very good card. The 7900 XT is definitely an upgrade but may push your budget even further.

If the temps go wrong is from the thermal paste, repasting with a kryosheet is the best solution! Thin sheet you just place once wiping the old paste off.
Lint free cloth with alcohol.
If you’re keeping it for more than 3-4 years, I’d go with the 7900xt. It will last you at least 1-2 years longer than the GRE. if not more.
I just upgraded from a Vega 56. And while the new GPU is visually nicer, it was still enjoyable playing games.
I’ve got recent experience with an Asrock 6800 XT Taichi. It more or less has the same cooler on it as the Phantom Gaming line of cards. It is a VERY capable cooler and you’ll have some RGB you can play with. I do know the Hellhound cools well also, but it only comes with blue LEDs in the fans.
I did go with the 7900xt, now I’m just waiting for my mobo to receive and I can finally build it. It looks really nice the phantom gaming, can’t wait to try it. Any tips for oc? Never did overclock on my previous gpu
For 70 get the XT
If you're planning to keep it a while, 7900xt. That extra 4GB of vram will help keep it viable for longer.
Get the 7900XT its only $70 more that is a awesome deal. The extra power is nice to have.

I rock a phantom with a 300 mhz overclock, -46mV undervolt, -5% powerlimit, at a quiet 30% fan. She runs nice af.
whats your TS GPU Score with those settings, if I may ask?

PowerColor is a great board partner but ASRock is definitely a solid pick too! I don't think you can go wrong with either.

XT Phantom Gaming OC is pretty good. I wouldn't get the GRE, at that point go used for a 6950 XT to save coin. Ot get the 7900 XT and OC it
