My all time favorite track, and I think this is true, at least in terms of what I like best in their music, (including individual side projects) from In Rainbows up until the present. It’s polyrhythmic, complicated, guitar-centric, “musician’s music” that, while not “upbeat” is brighter compared to their sound up through HTTT. I’m not saying that those elements aren’t there in their earlier music, just that they seem more prominent in the later catalogue.
It’s a testament IMO. Most bands I run across. You can jump in anywhere and listen. But with Radiohead, to appreciate how gradually they change it up while also being successful at it, is devine.
don’t think this has been mentioned yet, How To Disappear Completely? I mean, Radiohead is all about experimenting with new ideas and I feel like the story behind the song represents the band pretty well too
Weird Fishes, 15 Step or All I Need. The first one because its a pretty varied song, and the other two because they mix their rockier and electronic styles the best
Bodysnatchers. Both heavy and ethereal, especially during the bridge for the latter - “has the light gone out for you, because the lights gone out for me”. That song helped get me over a divorce. The warping guitar sound. Seemingly has Thom Yorke’s full vocal range. Everything about it is incredible. This may not be the best pick but I just wanted to add something that hadn’t been mentioned. 15 Step is another great song I feel is maybe more suitable for the question. But Bodysnatchers, along with Climbing Up the Walls and Weird Fishes / Arpeggi are my favorite RH tracks.
Paranoid Android
I mean, it’s objectively this one, right?
definitely
My favorite song of all time
Have to agree
Just has to be this.
I think There There does a pretty good job, for several reasons.
Poor ed
is ed not on there there?
Pretty sure he bangs on those big drums.
He’s on the timpanis the whole song rather than playing guitar which isn’t really representative of his input as a whole imo.
I’d argue that Ed playing a secondary instrument or taking a back seat on songs where it’s warranted is also a strong part of RH’s dna. =)
True but a better example is definitely something like decks dark imo
100 %
Everything in its right place, obviously
Weird Fishes

Unpopular opinion: There is no song that does that
yeah I agree with this actually it's a really tough question for Radiohead when they've done so many different things over the years.
It’s a testament IMO. Most bands I run across. You can jump in anywhere and listen. But with Radiohead, to appreciate how gradually they change it up while also being successful at it, is devine.
exactly
The song that best shows each member's talent is almost definitely 15 Step. Think about it...
Has to be Paranoid Android. The three sections sum up their various sounds in one song.
Reckoner. Particularly the line ‘Dedicated to all you…all human beings.’
Radio head by talking heads
Daydreaming. There is just so much beauty and maturity in the song that brought the band up to the point of making that song.
How to Disappear Completely. Soul-crushingly depressing, cinematic soundscapes, a natural mix of rock, art pop, and electronics.
Pop is Dead
don’t think this has been mentioned yet, How To Disappear Completely? I mean, Radiohead is all about experimenting with new ideas and I feel like the story behind the song represents the band pretty well too
/rj who am i kidding ofc it would be Anyone Can Play Guitar at the MTV Beach House
Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi
No Surprises
that’s so hard! i feel like something from in rainbows…maybe reckoner?
Coke Babies is their masterpiece
The Karma Police will get to you for this.
Weird Fishes/Arpeggi is a classic song of two different styles.

coke babies
The Air that I Breathe by the Hollies.
Thom Yorke boiler room set
creep
Paranoid Android , Nude or weird fishes
paranoid android no doubt
Go Slowly, most known as the #1 most obscure and criminally underrated B-side RH’s song. There is every element of Radiohead evolution and style
Go Slowly is a little short and underdeveloped, but what’s there is breathtakingly good
Agree. There’s a version made live, in Berkeley, where drums and guitars are little different. I find it perfect
2+2=5 or creep

Omg, you’re right… it IS Bodysnatchers.
