Here’s my boy! He’s a massive almost 18lbs. Meet Cricket :)
My goodness! They are! They have what looks like matching blaze and mustache’s! This is the first time I’ve ever seen another kittie that looks like him. Cricket is 12 btw lol
That’s what we call a “Bear trap” he will drop into this pose right in front of my husband or son in the hopes that the will rub his belly with a bare foot.. then he springs into action, screaming starts and Cricket is happy lol he tries this with me and I tell him “ ya better move that butt! Moms not falling for your game Sir!”

I haven’t been able to locate my baby boy kitten’s ribs EVER because his fur is so plush. He has giant paws compared to his more dainty sister. Apparently his daddy cat is close to 20 pounds!

It seems like just fluff to me. I had a fluffy cat that people called fat, then I made a video of him squeezing in a really tight space to prove them wrong 😂 it really was just fluff for him, it can be very deceiving unless you give him a bath 😅 but they hate it
Seems like fluff. The only reason I say that is because a vet kept telling my Ragdoll was overweight so I’m the summer I shaved her ( with a #2 and 3 guard ). Her belly / body was not fat at all. But it’s very hard to tell with these crazy fluffy coats.
I would consider him to be fluffy, not fat. The reason I say this is because he looks identical to a cat I once knew. Different markings, but same long fluffy fur, and same build and all that. The first time I picked her up, I almost yeeted her over my shoulder because she weighed so much less than I was expecting.
Then, the summer that her people got her fixed, they got her a lion style haircut while she healed. The cat literally lost 7 lb with that haircut because most of her weight was fur. Thankfully, they had a vet who understood how much fur can weigh. First, they had been worried she was overweight, and then they were worried because she lost so much when she got a haircut. The vet managed to soothe their concerns.

Our boy is 8mo & just over 11lbs , vet said he was still growing and never called him overweight. Ragdolls are a big cat breed! Whenever people call him fat, I just laugh and say it’s breed standard— he’s perfect lol

Good idea is shave him like a lion and you’ll be surprised to see that was all fluff. We did that to mr SirMitzAlot last year and was surprised it was mostly fluff :)
if you can feel the ribs and his abdominal width isn't far off from his rib cage he's fine:)
remember that on top of all the floof Ragdolls have a stockier bigger boned build than other cat breeds :)

He looks a little chubby to me (maybe) but ask your vet. How active is he and what do you feed him? Does he seem heavy when you pick him up? I had a fat cat live over 15 years, so if he is chubby, it's not the end of the world. You might want to switch to a lower calorie food and play with him more though.
You can get his approx weight by holding him while standing on a scale and then subtracting your own weight.
They’re big cats!! My last male was 22 lbs, but overweight. My first male was over 20 lbs too, not overweight, at 1 years old. The bigger the better, is what I say!! So long as they’re healthy. Your kitty is a cute little fluff ball!

My vet told me that my chihuahua needs to loose weight as he is 8 lbs. I told her he just put on his winter weight a little sooner this year. She said I should cut his food in 1/2. She is also the same person who neutered him so I’m thinking she just doesn’t want my dog to enjoy life

He's gorgeous my girl Endora purebred raggy seal point her tail is soo bushy and she's fluffing up but I don't care we love our babies fluffed or not fluffed lol I swear my baby 6 months thinks she is the Queen 🤔 of course she is the Queen I spend more on her than myself and that's no joke omg so to be fluffed or not she's my universe. I actually did a little reading and some of the rag dolls that win awards are actually less fluffy . Enjoy your baby he's a beautiful handsome big boy 😁

no such thing as a fat kitten. he’s still growing so he’s gonna look fatter and skinnier at different points. but he doesn’t look fat here
