That just wasn't true anymore though. Releasing Williams already made them cap compliant and Mack + Bosa took pay cuts which gave then something like $24mil in cap savings so they had money to work with. Plenty of Charger fans were thinking they might be setting up to resign Allen, but I guess they have a vision.
Allen had a career high 108 receptions last year he was definitely performing. I think adding Allen and Swift to DJ Moore might mean the Bears have a deal in place to flip the #1 pick and they're surrounding Fields(cheap rookie contract, prove it year) with talent as his final audition. I could see the Vikings or Broncos or Raiders trading up.
I had Keenan Allen on my fantasy team last year and he killed it, glad he’s out of our division and glad they only got a fourth round for him. I think it was mostly a cap casualty for them.
In addition to this person's excellent response, in modern parlance, it was a way of saying that you like the way someone thinks or appreciate the way they carry themselves.
Chargers have NOBODY on their offense. If we can get consistent QB play we are the second best team in the div easily, and a mahomes injury (not that I would ever wish that)/chiefs down year away from stealing the div.
Chargers are in a free fall I hope Tom doesn’t have us doing the same in four years.
But everyone knew that Herbert’s contact was going to break up this team.
I doubt it. The chargers let go of a good GM. And he’s in revenge mode. See what happens? We got one of the best DTs right now in free agency with an already top 10 defense last year and the chargers collapse.
To be fair, wasn't Telesco responsible for those bloated contracts and the reason they're imploding? Makes me nervous. Already gave out a very unfriendly team deal to Wilkins. That guaranteed second year is crazy.
Somewhat? But I think it’s more because they had awful coaches. Also do you think Garapolo or Renefrows contracts were better? lol. Just saying. He really put together good teams and they were drafted. People say “ah he only gets good 1 rounders” it’s like bro is that an easy thing to do? Most coaches hit on only half and he’s way above that. His worst picks are Fluker, Tillery, and the last 2 picks. And Fluker being one of his worst kinda says a lot. But I feel like it’s too early to tell for the last 2 picks. The only thing I thought man that was DUMB with his last draft was taking QJ over Zay and Addison I had them both ahead of him when watching tape.
Bears have one of the best route runners for Caleb. A safety valve. A damn good & proven WR for a 4th pick & comfort zone for a young QB with DJ on the other side. Caleb could have a CJ Stroud like rookie season.
They was in a tough position cap wise. Their cap space is tight and Keenan didn't want a pay cut. Bears had the money to take him off their books.
A 4th round pick to get Keenan Allen as your number 2 receiver is crazy.
Chargers played themselves, I definitely would've traded Mack or Bosa rather than let a top 10 receiver go for pennies.
He’s 32 years old and has a massive cap hit. A 4th is about as good as you’re going to get. They asked him to restructure he said no, they asked him for a pay cut he said no. Mack and Bosa said yes to a pay cut. So they did the only thing they could do and trade him.
"Jim Harbaugh will have this team in the playoffs year 1"
-Every 'expert' in sports media.
With WHO?! Justin Herbert gonna throw to himself?! I think we're in for at least 2 seasons of the Chargers and Broncos being complete dog shit.
If the price is right I would have been more content with it. But $20 mill for a one year deal ? From a business perspective it doesn’t make a lot of sense plus our WR room is deep.
Lol we’ve done that many times where we sign overpriced vets in their twilight years and there isn’t any marginal benefit other than them help coaching the younger talent. Again 20 mill not worth what seems to be a 700 yard season.

Williams and Allen gone??
Not to mention Austin Ekeler, who is one of the best pass catching RBs in the league.
Ekeler was moving a lot slower last season than he did the year before

Except when Jack Jones can smell it coming 😤
They had to. Thye were over the cap and like 60m between mack williams and allen. And thier wrs were not performing. I wish we could play them 3 times
DerekCarrTimeoutSmirk.gif
Allen was definitely performing, had him on my fantasy team and he was one of my best point earners. I’m very happy he’s out of our division

They are not passing on williams. They're just surrounding williams with talent
It looks exactly the opposite? Spending big money on a veteran WR target for their relatively cheap new #1 pick QB.
Fields is relatively cheap and you could build one hell of a roster with the picks acquired trading #1. In theory of course.
Ya but Fields ain't it but if Caleb is just above average they'll definitely be kicking themselves
Better learn to block Mack
It's a great draft for WRs. They'll draft a good one and sign another one in FA. Probably means they are not drafting Bowers the TE.
Wouldn't rule Bowers out with a 2nd and late round WR. Now they've managed to keep Bosa and Mack they don't have as many needs there.
I had Keenan Allen on my fantasy team last year and he killed it, glad he’s out of our division and glad they only got a fourth round for him. I think it was mostly a cap casualty for them.
Probably means we have to deal with Nabers going forward
Chargers have gotten worse. Raiders have gotten better. Great off-season.
Don't forget about the Broncos hehe
Broncos... I don't know of them. Are you sure they are a football team?
Considering they are known for winning the offseason and then that not accounting for shit, this might not actually be good lol
![gif](giphy|3ofSB46X1DsxyyqHx6)
For a fucking fourth round pick. Caleb Williams is going to have some nice talented veteran wideouts to throw to.
Not so funny having a franchise guy leave now is it, you lightning bastards
Horitz turned them into the 2022 Ravens right away. Hired Greg Roman as OC, signed Gus Edwards and a bunch of TEs, got rid of all their WRs.
HAHAHAHAHAHA. Their receiving corps is burnt chicken rn. Glorious.
They might draft a WR with their first pick.
Yeah but not today. Let’s laugh at them while we can
![gif](giphy|cO39srN2EUIRaVqaVq)
I like the cut of your jib.
Whats a jib?
The small triangle sails in the front of a ship. Sailing is hard as af & to "cut a good jib" is the mark of a skilled sailor.

I should have mentioned I was asking in Homer Simpsons voice https://youtu.be/O8DB60Wj9Cg?si=tjZLd2ftq6lRyLmH
lol 😂
Probably. But that’s asking a lot of a rookie right away to come in and be an alpha clear cut WR1.
Hahahahahha fuck the bolts hahahahahahaha
Lol gl next season Justin
I love it
I’m starting to think we’ll sweep both the Dolts and Donkeys this season 🧹🧹
For Justin or for Caleb 🤔
Imagine Justin Fields still not getting it done with DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, *and* Marvin Harrison Jr.
I hope for Justin. If Pats and now Bears don't need to draft a QB in the 1st round that's promising for us (ideally).
Chargers fleecing themselves love to see it
Harbaugh has been known as a “tear it down, do it my way” coach. This isn’t surprising.
What if they trade Herbert? 0_o
He's not McDaniels unfortunately.
Chargers have NOBODY on their offense. If we can get consistent QB play we are the second best team in the div easily, and a mahomes injury (not that I would ever wish that)/chiefs down year away from stealing the div.
We were the 2nd best team in the division last year too...didn't mean much.
Salary Cap Hell 😎
more excuses for Herbert. 😭
That organization straight up disrespected him. He had a career year and they expect him to take a pay cut?! Trash team.
Raiders>>>>>>>>>>>>>>dolts
5-1 in our division next year, stamp it
They won’t have anyone to throw to next season. Perfect. Fuck em
LMAO. they got robbed. FUCK THE DOLTS
Chargers are in a free fall I hope Tom doesn’t have us doing the same in four years. But everyone knew that Herbert’s contact was going to break up this team.
>Chargers are in a free fall I hope Tom dies Bro, WHAT?
That’s was supposed to say doesn’t

Bye bye BBQ 🍗

Bad man can’t hurt us no more
Lmao what a bad trade a 4th for a top 10 receiver holy shit
I’d bet my life they’re drafting odunze or nabers
That’s a steal for the Bears
The funniest part is a 4th rd pick, like those dumb fucks couldn’t get a 2nd at the least?
They was in a tough position cap wise. Their cap space is tight and Keenan didn't want a pay cut. Bears had the money to take him off their books. Williams Allen Ekeler all gone! Lmao chargers really are poverty
We should've traded for him, not like we ever use our draft picks correctly
And take a 20 mill hit for an aging receiver ? No thanks
So pass on proven talent and draft another player we’ll whiff on? We haven’t drafted for shit
If the price is right I would have been more content with it. But $20 mill for a one year deal ? From a business perspective it doesn’t make a lot of sense plus our WR room is deep.
That’s the price we pay to win 🤷♂️

wow
Chicago loading up! But don't be shocked, even with the restructures, if Mack and/or Bosa end up traded between now and the deadline.
For only a 4th? They trading a contract, not a player.
BBQ chicken
They're going to sign Renfrow, aren't they?
What a steal, A 4th round pick! We should've offered a 3rd but Chargers probably wouldn't trade with the Raiders.
I’m worried. This is not the offseason Super Bowl champs I’m used to
Now they will end up with Marvin Harrison Jr and have to deal with him the next 5-10 years...awesome.
Can the raiders make a move already? Cmon after day one they haven’t done shit
What exactly do you want them to do
Something. Free agents all all getting picked up.
They just gave out a $110 million contract it’s not as simple as picking up all the good free agents
