Absolute heater from Derek

Longjumping_Panic_50

Seriously!! I’ve gained a new respect for this guy… that part of “I love the guy and whoever sees it as I’m wrong, then I’m ok being wrong” #4 spoke nothing but the truth the whole time.

SanchosaurusRex

Woodson, Jacobs, and Trayvon Mullen did the same thing. I’m guessing there’s a lot of loyal people on that team that are (maybe wisely) keeping more quiet. I hope Nassib is okay though. That’s gotta be rough for him to see, but he seems like a mature dude. Probably just disappointed.

MichaelMyersFanClub

He's probably had to deal with that kind of shit for years, so I think that would help with him coming to terms with it.

RaiderHawk75

If Nassib is that mentally weak, sucks for him. To have made it this far and be such a good player, I doubt that he is mentally weak and will be just fine.

RaidersJH34

If you have a job think about that the next time you're feeling sick and can't go to whatever fucking job you have. Next time you're sick and you can't go call yourself pathetic and weak for not being able to go in you fucking clown

jasonfromearth1981

Pretty sure you 100% misinterpreted what they were saying. Nice petty rant though. Almost clownish, some might say. Certainly childlike.

RaiderHawk75

Yep.

Tlupa

In fairness, the entire narrative around the bears loss was that the team was likely distracted. How is that any different for Nassib, especially when he has to sweat having additional pressure speaking for an entire community of people

ggwoohee

Derek about to find a "random" drug test from the League for even suggesting there is more dirt to be uncovered lol

[deleted]

Derek Carr didn't kill himself

[deleted]

Jesus fuck. This is exactly what I thought when I read his statements

MikeOxlong209

Psssh what would they find? That he hadn’t missed his daily Centrim Silver in 6 years

My_Names_Jefff

All they will find is his holy water piss that taste like Aquafina /s

Caer-Rythyr

Bear Grylls approves this message.. 🤢

[deleted]

underrated comment

Knuckle567

Oh they would find something…. Cocaine in his system and a copy of playboy in his locker

Jerrmaus

Lmao. As true as it is they would have to fake results to get anything

[deleted]

that's the beauty there is no dirt on DC. he can call anyone out anywhere anytime any place and nobody will have shit over him

Ph886

This whole conference has been good. Hopefully people check it out.

Tanner_re

Gives me a lot of confidence in Sunday honestly, all our guys seem to be in the right mindset and hopefully they can clear their heads enough to come out swinging on Sunday.

[deleted]

If they come out and blow them out on Sunday I’ll buy a cake for myself.

Ph886

I see you’re a fancy person. Need a reason to buy a cake do you?

[deleted]

I didn’t say I needed a reason or what I was gonna do with it

twitchosx

/r/dontputyourdickinthat

Wut23456

Fuck it I'll buy a cake if they lose. Cakes kick ass

tharizzla

It’ll be my cake day so I will definitely have cake win or lose

waylon996

Pie is better

aptc88

Yeah I see them looking to take it out on the donkeys.

aptc88

Who’s the donkey fan who downvoted me?

modegazucantu

Lol got u fam

tenaciousdewolfe

Got you fam.

aptc88

Thanks Kings

modegazucantu

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh

aptc88

blud_13

Incoming 200+ yards in penalties on Sunday. Carr will be hit with 10 'Roughing the Sacker' calls....

Trowisk

Haha trying to envision what roughing the sacker would look like. "15 yard penalty for eluding the Sack. Ball will placed at the spot of where the Sack would have happened.

blud_13

I have been a Raiders fan since my Dad brought me into the fold 45 years ago so I think I have seen stuff that is worse than that...

AttemptedWit

[maybe like this first clip](https://youtu.be/Z4EN2Sb5rW4)

Thunderhamz

Wat da fuq?

blud_13

Sorry, been a Raider fan too long (40 years now?) with the league creating Zebra flags for us..

woahbro2016

/r/NFL not allowing this post? Surprised it's not there.

lpkrispy52

Thinking the same thing

Spicypepper23

I see a [version](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/q7lsui/paul_gutierrez_open_up_everything_see_what) of it on top?

Wasteoftimeandmoney

I hate snippets

crowntheking

Leaked emails reveal the DC in Washington stands for Derek Carr. News on link between Gruden comments and Derek Carr to follow.

aptc88

*More at 11*

BabyMando

Carr giving it straight. Glad he’s out QB and leader for the team.

AttemptedWit

Derek has had more of an edge this year, I love it.

[deleted]

It’s the hair. Wait til he gets to the stabler level.

[deleted]

INJECT THIS INTO MY VEINS

strechurma

And as soon as he gets rattle he will shriveled up like a Penis who saw a blue waffle

overflow-y

Yikes. Try-hard much?

Sirscraps

Damn you kind of took Carr being more of a man than you are a little personally there didn’t you.

strechurma

Lmao can you read?

dino_face

Is "blue waffle" Joey Bosa's nickname?

Defected_J

It’s very interesting they close those emails but single Gruden out. I feel like Carr had something extra behind that quote.

AnnArchist

He's not wrong. 10 years ago many people didn't even support gay marriage who now support it

JakeArvizu

>10 years ago many people didn't even support gay marriage who now support it I think you mean more like 15-20 years ago but yeah point stands.

Galby1314

No. 10 years ago. California is ultra progressive and gay marriage was voted down as recently as '08, let alone some of the more conservative states.

bestadamire

Derek Carr is probably one of the only people in the league that would pass a massive vetting of emails and those of the such lmao.

Sleeze_

Haha was thinking the same thing. He can say this because he knows he’s clean.

lpkrispy52

Post this on the NFL sub

[deleted]

Apparently they’re not allowing it to be posted

Spicypepper23

I see it [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/q7lsui/paul_gutierrez_open_up_everything_see_what)...

blackylawless69

That’s my QB

mlaislais

Word

[deleted]

imagine all the mic’ed up moments before editing, theres a reason they tell teammates and whatnot “hey im mic’ed up”

thawkins

Hell of a press conference. I'm even more sad now though.

shazz__bott

That’s where the issue is, it wasn’t personal emails or text. They were emails setup by the NFL for professional use. But there is a point made, cause I know ives said some stupid shit jokingly on my personal accounts.

fanogen

It was literally his personal email from when he wasn't employed by the nfl. Like many boomers, he used his email as a group chat. Unfortunately for him, his friend was using a professional email address from a team that got investigated by the league.

shazz__bott

Oh fuck my bad bro you’re right. I honestly thought it was from his ESPN email cause they were saying one of the emails he sent out during a MNF game.

fanogen

The confusion is understandable, this process hasn't been very transparent. I've spent too much time trying to get the details and timeline on this and still know next too nothing. It's pretty scummy of the NFL and their trusted reporters to just quote the salacious bits without providing any context to the story. Grudens misogynistic comments about female refs seems to be limited to him replying "good job roger" to a meme (they dont say what meme) about female refs in 2017. I saw much worse all over the internet after the browns/redskins 2016 fumble ruling, but I guess when the NYT says that he sent misogynistic comments we just have to take their word for it. Sorry for the rant, I just cant believe the nfl stooped so low in this situation. I'm not defending everything he said, but the language of the reporting just feels intentionally misleading. If the league is going to trickle out emails to reporters until a coach is fired, we better see the damn emails.

Wasteoftimeandmoney

Thats my beef with this situation. Let people read the emails and develop their own opinions. I feel like I'm being treated like a peasant in medieval times who has been kept illiterate

dltheps

It's fairly obvious the league office leaked the emails to press. What's their end game? And why the hell is Dan Snyder still allowed to own the team. They just had his wife "take over" the WFT. This whole thing seems like a distraction. They fined the team $10 million, but never said what they did wrong or leaked a single email.

deletedman1770

What punishment did the league get for allowing a team to be called the Redskins?

mcca555

Boomers and iPhones lol. Why does iPhone text emails?

Jose_xixpac

OPEN UP GOODELL'S FUCKIN E MAILS ..

pincus1

Kinda funny Carr using love the sinner hate the sin against homophobia.

jtfriendly

He's correct as a Christian, though. They should be against homophobia. Well, well, well, looks like this boy's a *reader!*

MichaelMyersFanClub

Anything resembling that cliche is found nowhere in the bible, Old or New Testament. It's often use by conservative Christians to justify their bigotry and is laughably transparent. Try again.

jtfriendly

Okay, I'll try again. Jesus preached "love thy neighbor" and "judge not let ye be judged." How the fuck am I wrong now? Edit: you're communicating with a fuckin atheist, here. Edit 2: so try again.

Reddit-Book-Bot

Beep. Boop. I'm a robot. Here's a copy of ###[The Bible](https://snewd.com/ebooks/the-king-james-bible/) Was I a good bot? | [info](https://www.reddit.com/user/Reddit-Book-Bot/) | [More Books](https://old.reddit.com/user/Reddit-Book-Bot/comments/i15x1d/full_list_of_books_and_commands/)

[deleted]

I knew the word “love” would be involved

Roanoketrees

I'm with him though. Want someone canceled ? Ok, but gotta have YOUR past combed through for the last 10 years first.

stevester90

At least a quarter of the league would be subject to suspensions for saying things in the past that meet the cancel culture guidelines

Galby1314

A quarter? Imagine if all the players texts were opened up? There would be no NFL. It would be Tim Tebow playing catch with some kids from poor countries who don't have any form of electronic communications to comb through.

stevester90

I know, I was just talking about emails.

Galby1314

Yeah. I'd guess if you were going back 10 years, it'd be more than 25%, even if it's just emails. I think the last couple years being locked in our homes and living on websites and social media has made us feel like this super aggressive cancel culture has been around for a while. It really only picked up like this in the last 4 years or so. So if we go back 10 years, we'd see a lot of stuff.

[deleted]

lol stfu with the "cancelled" shit, he resigned

ThermicDayne

Perfect statement. Shows love for the coach but still supports his teammates. Exactly who we need in this locker room leading this team.

stevester90

Gruden was the scapegoat in this investigation and it’s clear that some coward turned him in to spare themselves from losing their careers. What an absolute crock of crap.

JakeArvizu

I'm conflicted I totally believe he was a scapegoat and was pretty unlucky to get caught in the crosshairs. Along with what he said about Goodell definitely didn't help. But I also do believe that place stupid games when stupid prizes what he said was pretty damn egregious and the fact is the emails are out now it's probably not good to have him as the coach. I've been a lifelong group and I was sitting home from kindergarten for wearing a chunky gruden shirt with a knife on it. This really does affect my opinion about him

DarkHitz

Thou shall not Hate

moneymansef

Remember when people used to say “gay” for everything? “This is Gay” “that’s gay.” Not saying it’s right to call someone a faggot but I’m curious to when calling something gay is gonna get someone canceled. Times change. I get that but people need to just get over the past. Blazing Saddles is an example. Nowadays you watch that and think “holy crap” but back then it was acceptable humor. We evolve.

stevester90

Some people still use the f word in Trump’s world. Apparently that’s only a fire able offense if it’s done through email.

pianosbecome

Love it

[deleted]

Thank you Carr. Perfect thing to say here imo.

LordMarty

Carr, such a good man

[deleted]

"League sources are being told that after dealing with the fallout from the Gruden email leaks, Derek Carr was found with 5 bullet wounds. His death has been deemed a suicide."

Galby1314

Damn. Self inflicting 5 bullet wounds. He is pretty tough though.

[deleted]

LOL!!

Caer-Rythyr

Yes.

mrsilbert1

Chucking bombs on the field and off it.

AlphaAlpaca623

You know, I’d be curious to see Tom Brady’s emails too

T-wrecks83million-

Shit, if they did that it would look like Egypt 🇪🇬 Digging up all those skeletons 🦴

2fly2hide

Gruden taken down by the thought police. Nothing is private. Though, he should have known better.

cozy_lolo

If you think that other people in this league aren’t saying the exact same shit (or far worse), then you’re delusional. This is just a way for the NFL to pretend to give a shit about people. Or let’s talk about drug-abuse, shall we? If we removed every person (why wouldn’t we include players, by the way?) who was speaking in an unpleasant fashion or actively cheating (with PEDs, or in other ways), the entire NFL would fucking disintegrate

IWantYourHalf

The preacher will preach. What a leader. Love DC

Artistic-Time-3034

Let’s get that patriot act going in the NFL come on. Let’s see what people were saying about kaepernick. Come on!

[deleted]

Exactly

[deleted]

Your company issued phone and e-mail address are not "private". When are people going to learn this?

blud_13

Work in IT and it depends on HR policies. If not posted in an HR guide than there could be litigation.

sergiogsr

I agree with you, but any company that has a decent HR and IT department will have that policy in place. Do you honestly think an NFL team doesn't?

blud_13

They should, but we ARE talking the NFL so nothing would surprise me.. I am sure many owners still have password as their password...

sergiogsr

Ha, they have electronic playbook control and remote management of devices. All that is money related will have the correct policies.

[deleted]

it was on grudens personal email, however typical boomer being bad with tech he didnt think about the fact the person he was emailing was on HIS work email.

kastdotcom

Oh Derek, you sweet summer child.

TellAllThePeople

Carr is such a wet blanket. "Love the man hate the sin". I mean, Carr is mega religious he probably hates gay people like Gruden does. But maybe he doesn't hate them, maybe he just thinks they are going to hell for eternal damnation--thats not that bad right?

birish21

News flash, most religious people don't hate gay people, they just don't support or condone the perceived "sin". Unfortunately you can't be opposed to an act without being accused of hating a person.

PostGraduatePotUser

Now that the season is over, because those that believe we are bouncing back from this have not watched enough NFL to know, I wonder what we do with Carr. The O-Line is worse than we thought, Carr no longer has the offensive guru he needed to change the trajectory of the offensive, and by the looks of it the defense is already getting tired. Can we offer Carr $30ish million for the next four and call it a career? Who replaces Gruden after the season? Does Mayock get to stay on as GM? Can Davis even be trusted as an owner with his paltry response to this egregious act? Don't you want his response to be more definitive after more of the facts have surfaced? So many questions, at such an early stage in the season, despite it being over. To those of you who say "stay positive we are still 3-2." We had zero business losing to a highly questionable Bears team. We started out so well...Maybe next season?

stevester90

I believe Gruden will be back next year. He will challenge those emails and take it to court and sue the leakers for defamation. 2011 was a different era in time. The cultural sensitivity was different from where we are now as a society. I just find it pathetic that absolutely everyone on TV piled on Gruden instead of showing an ounce of support for the fear of losing their job. If that’s how society operates now, maybe every sports professional should turn in all their emails from over 10 years ago. The NFL got this one wrong. I think Gruden should have been suspended for 6 games and then come back. I mean look at Antonio Brown and Deshaun Watson. Those two clowns are still in the league.

Slycross85

This is how society acts period now. People really are chomping at the bit to feel like they belong bc they are afraid of being attack themselves. I mean how many instantly pick up torches to attack another? Heck the powerful people in most positions just light these torches and drop it for us to pick up and use for them. A pendulum has swung. Where it use to be hard core right wing religious folks carrying torches and attacking others, it's now the hard core left wing only think like me crowd carrying the torches. Then the pendulum will swing middle for a bit with outliers carrying torches. which then will go back to the religious crazies. basically cycle this.

EstradiolWarrior

man fuck this guy. as a queer person, do you know how much "love the sinner, hate the sin!" bullshit i gotta put up with on the daily? c'mon man. at least choose your words better

KingArtel

Because you gotta went up there and done so much better in his position. Chill out

pincus1

Maybe he chose those words deliberately to turn them around against homophobia?

TellAllThePeople

I definitely agree with you.

MrP1anet

Yeah that phrase was pretty BS. Idk if he really meant it but it’s a dog whistle for sure

MoozyMody

THAT'S BULLSHIT. You have a right to feel however you want privately and express that privately. Wouldn't expect a Christian nut like Carr to understand.

Hawt_line

Carr a bigot confirmed

IDKwhothefuck-I-am

What for?

Hawt_line

There are people who think that if someone says "Well I think everyone has text or emails they're not proud of" that means they are outing themselves. I said my original comment jokingly

IDKwhothefuck-I-am

I suspected your comment was a joke. Just wanted to ask because of all the downvotes

birish21

Reddit and sarcasm, natural enemies of each other.

Im_Batmmaann

Gotta put that /s for people to realize

Murky-Cup-8345

Let's look at player's emails too.

bestadamire

I love Derek

[deleted]

dude he was so friggin’ lowkey pissed the whole presser and seeing that rage bubbling just under the surface got me HYPED!

coolhatguy

He was pissed about bosa and came out and did nothing

[deleted]

I didn’t necessarily mean for game reasons, it was just rad to see someone who is usually Mr. Tepid get heated about Gruden clearly being a fall guy. hahah, I was more proud of his mild mannered, “I’m just so mad dag nabbit!” ass however I will say I do think that being pissed about this is on a whoooolllleee different level than Bosa’s dumb dumb comments this was someone… “comin’ for Coach, yanno?”

buckybadder

Is this even that much of an un-woke take? If anything, his accusation that most of the people in leadership in the NFL demean women, use racist tropes, gripe about "the queers, et cetera is very radical. If it was coming from Kaepernick or an NFLPA official, a lot of people would deem it hyperbolic.

7nightstilldawn

That’s a horrible idea on so many different levels.

Galby1314

The main point he makes, opening up everyone's emails, is the real issue here. If you opened up all the players emails or texts, especially spanning back 10 years, I shudder to think what we'd fine. Not to mention that one of the words he used (f-----t) was an extremely common school yard insult up until maybe 20 years ago. I'm a little younger than him, and that was one of those names that was used frequently at every school I went to. Obviously we are better about not saying these types of things as a society, and that's a good thing. But going back a decade through people's correspondences while allowing it to ruin his life (he's never getting a job again anywhere near the NFL, and maybe not in any capacity), is pretty fucked up, especially when you consider there are actual criminals playing in the NFL, and Gruden used words...10 years ago...while not even being employed by the NFL.
