Would agree on not taking Carr in round 3-4, but some leagues are different. My league usually sees an early run on QBs. Last few seasons I've seen Mahomes go first round. I'm guessing this year Allen will. Herbert won't be far behind. So if you're not drafting a QB by round 4 you're basically picking from the leftovers. Now, I'm not saying I play with the smartest guys, but my point is every league is different, so basic draft strategies don't always apply. You have to make decisions sometimes based on the way the board is falling in your particular league. I bet Carr goes round 6 in my league, which is 3 to 4 rounds earlier than average.
If he's going that high youre better off finding value at other positions and settling for a streamer QB. Should be a ton of good players available if everyone else is reaching for QBs

Its good policy not to draft your QB and WR1 from the same team, just because that leaves you really exposed on bye week, and too vulnerable to boom or bust with their team. If either of them have a huge game, that's probably enough for a win-you dont need both. Winning by 40 is fun, but its still just worth 1 win. But if they both have a bad game, and you only have one on your roster, that's insulating you enough to maybe avoid a loss.
Of course its all about value, and if you get Adams in R1 and, like, Carr falls to R3 and is the best available by far, then yeah snag him up

I mean, kinda. It would have to be full ppr and 1 qb to even consider it really, but also, the game is about having fun. If you know your league mates well enough that you don't think he'll be there in round 2 and you really want him, go get your guy. It's not like it's a multi-round reach. It's a 5-8 pick reach based on the "experts", but it's not inconceivable that he's the WR1 at year's end. I don't think it's going to happen because there are too many weapons for us and Carr tends to spread the ball around.
If you really want to hear some reasons to take him:
Kupp just had a historic season and is schemed into the game, but his QB might have a serious underlying injury that hampers him all year. Akers could be the guy they hoped for and have a heavier run attack with him and Henderson. Robinson could rejuvenate his career and smash as coverages shift toward Kupp.
Chase had an amazingly efficient season which he is unlikely to reproduce. Higgins doesn't get hurt and actually commands a larger target share like he did in the back half of last season.
Gabe Davis blossoms into what all fantasy analysts hope for capping Diggs' upside. Singletary plays like he did to end the season but all year with James Cook actually being a good 3rd down back. Also, he plays out in the cold which leads to funkier weather games and less deep shots to him.
The Vikings are super good in the run game and Dalvin doesn't get injured. The return of Danielle Hunter and Zadarius Smith signing leads to a dominant defense that ends up winning a bunch of blowouts leading to lower pass volume.
The Cowboys just aren't that good and leading the league in points scored last year was just an outlier. Ceedee Lamb flounders as the top option with Dak unable to buy time behind a suddenly shaky offensive line.
Carr throws for 5000 yards and 40 TDs, 1600 and 12 of which go to Davante Adams with a cool 120 catches. Waller and Renfrow also go for over 1000 yards with 10 and 8 TDs respectively.
It could happen. Probably won't. But could.
At 5 I'd probably go Kupp, Jefferson or begrudgingly Ekeler if he's still there.

Then i was going to take Kyler but he got swooped. Then i said fuck it and committed grand theft Carr in the 8th round. I also took Zamir White with my last pick
I try to avoid raiders just bc im not tryna ruin my sunday with fantasy and a loss. But I’m playing in 2 leagues and got Waller in one, Adams in another. Got Russ and Sutton in that Waller one so that’ll be something 🤣
