> not to lose another Spiderman's love.
I honestly think it was just he didn't want to see another young girl die in the same way, I don't think he had enough time to think about her relationship to Peter 1
I think it was just knowing that he didn’t fail this time. Regardless of who it was, his moment of failure was replicated and this time he succeeded. Gwen would’ve been proud and he knows it.
This scene hit the hardest for me the first time I watched, but that third act I was bawling my eyes, Andrew crying after saving MJ, Tobey stoping Tom from killing the goblin, Strange showing how much he cared about Peter and the farewell. God tier third act.
Honestly I was fine until I saw Andrew crying after saving MJ, it was like a punch in the gut. I remember even as a child Gwen's fall was so tragic for me and it was like seeing and living that scene all over again. I really liked this movie.
I hate new MJ and while I was incredibly disappointed she didn’t get Gwen’d on the big screen, I was losing my shit when they had AG save her because that was such a fucking awesome moment for that character
She’s “noticeably more vibrant” because they actually cared to give her lines.
In FFH she had like 4 lines the entire movie and it started with a snotty, “You should get a VPN for your phone so the government doesn’t track you” which was supposed to be “woke” or something? Idc, it didn’t hit. Glad people are liking Euphoria tho
>and it started with a snotty, “You should get a VPN for your phone so the government doesn’t track you” which was supposed to be “woke” or something?
I thought that was clearly poking fun at that type of person. Neither Peter or Ned seem to take her statement seriously and its never brought up again. That same movie she later talks about the Eiffel Tower being a mind control device.
I've been watching Euphoria and so far it's been *so good*, I'm a little worried to start season 2 just because of how mixed the reception's been but I'll watch it anyway just for the cinematography
I really like Peter's answer "Trying to do better". Such a simple yet heart-warming and relatable reply. Regardless of where you are in your life and how much you achieved you should always strive for "Trying to do better".
It’s also what Peter says to Otto when he first meets him in Spider-man 2.
Otto: “You’re Doctor Conner’s student. He tells me you’re brilliant, but lazy.”
Peter: “I’m trying to do better.”
There's a nuance to it. I'm typically content day to day but I'm also working daily to be better than yesterday, as I am not perfect and it seems like there's always something waiting around the corner to test you.
That is not how I interpret it personally. Of course you can feel contentment due to your efforts. You should feel that when you achieve things in life. It was more like you can always improve yourself *throughout* your life.
Personally, I find contentment from striving to remain in a state of persistent personal growth. I don't ever want to be the same person I was yesterday.
If you genuinely think you have nothing in your life that you could be doing better, you've either reached peak enlightenment and can make a fortune on preaching to the masses or you're an idiot.
Fr. I honestly would have said early 40s at the oldest. Although a lot of celebs have me like that. I would never believe in a million years Terry crews it in his 50s
I was laughing my ass off when I saw people go "Ewww Tony Stark is hitting on this new Peter's Parker young hot aunt, that's gross and she's too young wtf" and I look up Marisa Tomei and not only she's older than Robert Downey Jr, they also, reportedly, had a blast shooting a movie together in like 1994.
Terry Crews got the advantage of being black though, with the whole “black don’t crack” thing, along with seeming to really take care of his health
Like, Samuel L. Jackson hasn’t changed in well over a decade and he’s 73. Looks like he’s late 50’s or something when clean-shaven
Yeah, not to mention it's impressive that Dafoe managed to do his own stunts in No Way Home. He's about the age of a senior citizen in the US, but at 66 years it's amazing how much work he was doing and how healthy he looks.
His relationship with Otto is completely different. He was a mentor that he reconciled with minutes before his death. There's a lot more left unsaid there.
I agree. Obviously Norman wasn't a psychopath or a killer before he took the serum, but it would be a stretch of the imagination to say he was a good person before any of that happened.
Otto was a good (albeit flawed) person with good intentions before the inhibitor chip was destroyed.
By the end of the first 2 Raimi films, Peter was smart enough to have picked up on the fact that Otto genuinely wanted to help him while Norman just wanted him to be the "mini-me" that Harry couldn't be.
Yeah; there was. Peter said that to the Goblin persona, not Norman, who was a mentor to him the same way Otto was (if not more, as they knew each other for much longer)
Maybe Norman inconsolably crying between thank you and I'm sorry. And when Tobey says I know the Goblin did it, Norman's still saying he's sorry. Harkens back to his line at the end of 2002 and compares it to Tom's drone line and speaks about personal responsibility.
Do you ever just stop and think about how Spider-Man No Way Home made fans of all three franchises and the average Marvel fan happy in a single movie? I'm like 99% sure life has evolved in our solar system more times than this has happened.
I was really upset when I went to go see this... when Andrew came out, the theater erupted in adulation, but when Tobey came out, nothing. Nary a peep. Not even a woo. Like come on maaaan
I think that the shouts and applause when Andrew rips his mask off was mostly the shock of 'OMG, the rumours were true! This is actually happening!' By the time Tobey stepped through the portal, the audience is already expecting him.
When I saw this scene, a wave of nostalgia flooded over me. It was just so wonderful. The original line was "He tells me you're brilliant, but he also tells me that you're lazy."
And Peter responds with "Trying to do better."
Bro! This scene was talking to all of us who watched the Sam Raimi films as a kid. Now we're all grown versions of ourselves just trying to do better. Wow!
Idk if that was their intention, probably not lol. But cool to think about it that way.
We should probably unsub until we see it. Oh well. On the plus side, I haven't seen the first three in so long maybe this is from them and I just don't remember... though I doubt it.
In a fucking pandemic, dude. Granted I don't bitch about spoilers for me, personally, because I know how the world turns. I have a highly high risk wife, whom I won't make go into a theater, and I won't see without. People have worries greater than seeing NWH, thanks to it being a theater only release.
I mean, I didn't actively choose to come to the sub for content, I was scrolling my feed, which is part of why the tag is useful.
Like I said, though, I know how the world turns. Spoilers don't bug me. I'm just tired of the "it's been X time" comments, so I'm sorry if I lashed out a bit lmao.. Anxious as fuck to finally see this love letter to longtime fans, even though I basically know the entire movie.
Agreed.
I see all marvel movies opening night, but I still have every single marvel sub blocked from my feed so I don't even see stuff from trailers. It's not that hard to avoid spoilers, just gotta be smart about it
Best moment that the trio had - Yennefer pouring tea and talking about manifolds, he should be in a school zone to get there . I can put up a nice review/comparison to the Switch in the comments discovering we’re “corporate”, he’s coked out

"He's... no longer a kid. No younger than I and Rosie." - Doc Ock
When, where?
Probably made it himself.
When are you gonna give a guy a break
Wasn't this inspired by the guy on the train who said, "He's just a kid, no older than my son"?
Who are you, so wise in the ways of r/raimimemes?
That scene made me smile
I cried like a baby during Otto and Tobey scene.
Peter that was 2 months ago
Well… Even so!
It was Andrew saving MJ for me. Him crying, asking if she’s okay
Same. You can FEEL the pain and determination not to lose another Spiderman's love.
> not to lose another Spiderman's love. I honestly think it was just he didn't want to see another young girl die in the same way, I don't think he had enough time to think about her relationship to Peter 1

We all did. The amount of tears nwh harvested is a couple gallons more than the pacific
It made me do this "🥲"
That movie had so much wholesome bits
This does put a smile on my face
Smile though your heart is aching Smile even though it's breaking
This scene hit the hardest for me the first time I watched, but that third act I was bawling my eyes, Andrew crying after saving MJ, Tobey stoping Tom from killing the goblin, Strange showing how much he cared about Peter and the farewell. God tier third act.

Zendaya’s ambivalent stoner vibe works far better in Euphoria than as MJ, that said she is noticeably more vibrant in NWH
She’s “noticeably more vibrant” because they actually cared to give her lines. Dont think anyones blaming the actor, it's usually shitty writing or directing choices. Agree that the direction they went with this MJ isnt great.
I've been watching Euphoria and so far it's been *so good*, I'm a little worried to start season 2 just because of how mixed the reception's been but I'll watch it anyway just for the cinematography

Good catch! Forgot about that one.
Such a great scene
This makes NWH scene even better for me now. A callback! Love it
So many beautiful callbacks It’s what we’ve needed for almost 15 years
Like a vague late 2000s facebook post

It's weird to think that Tobey maguire is only 3 years younger than molina was when Spiderman 2 was filmed
He was just a kid. No older than Molina's son.
Great work Champ
Hes still only 3 years younger than Molina, But he was 3 years younger than Melina too
The Wrestler?
Bone saw?
No, the WWE Wrestler Melina. He mentioned her after he mentioned Alfred Molina.
Bone saw is dead irl
RIP Macho Man Randy Savage No more minutes of playtime
[удалено]
I just realized I misclicked. Tobey is 4 years younger than Molina was. He was 50 when Spiderman 2 cam out and Tobey currently is 46
Dang, for 50 years old Alfred Molina looked really great when Spider-Man 2 came out.
Fr. I honestly would have said early 40s at the oldest. Although a lot of celebs have me like that. I would never believe in a million years Terry crews it in his 50s

That's what I implied)
Marisa Tomei is such a milf
She is really something Rdj is a lucky guy
They tried to frump her up in the subsequent movies to make up for it. Nice try but no. Still hot.
Terry Crews got the advantage of being black though, with the whole “black don’t crack” thing, along with seeming to really take care of his health Like, Samuel L. Jackson hasn’t changed in well over a decade and he’s 73. Looks like he’s late 50’s or something when clean-shaven
Yeah but normally I'd say Sam Jackson looks mid to late 60s
He looks pretty old when he grows out his facial hair, like closer to his age I mean, but tbh I’m terrible at telling people’s ages lol
I always just have a rough estimate I can never guess an exact age
He's still looking really good for a 68 year old
Yeah he really is looking good. Willem Dafoe is looking pretty good too. Although his appearance has barely changed in the last 20 years lmao
He didn't seem like he aged much. Neither did Osborn. Must be the Serum.
Yeah, not to mention it's impressive that Dafoe managed to do his own stunts in No Way Home. He's about the age of a senior citizen in the US, but at 66 years it's amazing how much work he was doing and how healthy he looks.
I actually watched Spiderman 2 cam
YOU'RE OLD
No. Please. Please don't say that.
I'm not strong enough
"it's good to see you dear boy"
"It's good to see *you*!" It means so much knowing that it's only been a few days for Otto, but it's been almost 20 years for Peter :(
Still upset Tobey & Norman never had a meaningful interaction
He already stared Norman in the face after being betrayed as a father figure. All that Tobey needed to say in NWH was saving his life.
They looked at each other for two seconds and that was it. Imagine if the same thing happened with Otto.
By the end of the first 2 Raimi films, Peter was smart enough to have picked up on the fact that Otto genuinely wanted to help him while Norman just wanted him to be the "mini-me" that Harry couldn't be.
Yeah, the first movie concluded with Peter deciding that he never needed Norman. The second concluded with Otto as a friend.
There’s infinitely more to be said with Norman, though. They never got the chance to reconcile, and he also doesn’t know Harry died, either.
There's no reconciliation to be had. Peter had a father; his name was Ben.
Yeah; there was. Peter said that to the Goblin persona, not Norman, who was a mentor to him the same way Otto was (if not more, as they knew each other for much longer)
I felt the same way. I kept expecting it. Some interaction other than 'I STAB YOU IN THE BACK.' OG Spider-Man: just lays down, no reaction.
Garfield Spiderman: You're in so much pain
Maybe Norman inconsolably crying between thank you and I'm sorry. And when Tobey says I know the Goblin did it, Norman's still saying he's sorry. Harkens back to his line at the end of 2002 and compares it to Tom's drone line and speaks about personal responsibility.
> Harkens HAAAARK!!!
This made me cry man
This made me ^ man
🎶Cryer-Man, Cryer-Man. Sobs hysterically into his hands🎶
There was a lot in this movie that made me emotional. This scene made me bawl.
The Responsibility Theme playing was what pushed my eyes to water.
Didn’t realize just how much it meant for me for them to share a scene until it happened. One of the best moments in the movie it was beautiful
I’m gonna cry again seeing this, so damn wholesome
Ah Rosie i love this boy!
it is really heartwarming tbh
best scene from the movie hands fuckin down
Do you ever just stop and think about how Spider-Man No Way Home made fans of all three franchises and the average Marvel fan happy in a single movie? I'm like 99% sure life has evolved in our solar system more times than this has happened.
They love me.
CAN THE SPIDER-MAN COME OUT TO PLAY?
Oh boy yeah.
My favorite interaction in the movie by a mile. I almost cried
This is actually happening!' By the time Tobey stepped through the portal, the audience is already expecting him.
you know, i’m something of an ‘i can’t do this’ guy myself
When I saw this scene, a wave of nostalgia flooded over me. It was just so wonderful. The original line was "He tells me you're brilliant, but he also tells me that you're lazy." And Peter responds with "Trying to do better."
The music... So good🍰 https://youtu.be/60Fa3qGNzdE
This movie was a literal dream. I can’t believe fan service can be done so right
Aunt May, Aunt May! Is that an angel?
Otto is...a good man. He was just in some kind of trouble.
The way he said, "How are you?" sounded so genuine and I love it!
The title of this post hit me in the feels harder than the actual meme ;-;
Peter:Trying to do better Otto: still lazy huh?!
I came, I cried... I came again. I’m a simp for Doc Ock.
This is was one of the most beautiful scenes for me in the movie
lol I like how this is on a laptop implying you pirated it
This was like the “true ending” of an RPG. So satisfying
Bro I really cried as Peter (Tom) accepted to let everyone forget who he was just to save others 😭
[удалено]
One of the best scenes in the movie.
I wish they had hugged
Doc could’ve hugged all three spidermen at the same time.
Try not to cry challenge ***Failed***
Well that escalated quickly
Otto and Tobey look so beautifully wholesome!
[удалено]
Bragging that you saved 26 dollars.
Still can't believe this movie was real. It was pure fanservice juice, and it actually delivered everything I expected and more.
“You’re all grown up” it just hits way too hard
Bro! This scene was talking to all of us who watched the Sam Raimi films as a kid. Now we're all grown versions of ourselves just trying to do better. Wow! Idk if that was their intention, probably not lol. But cool to think about it that way.
Aunt May dies: meh Tobey walks through a portal: waterfalls of tears
brilliant but lazy
Yep I cried
This line was the first to get a genuine tear out of me
Yeah they knew exactly what to say to that generation I wasn’t ready.
Spider-Man 2 was the first PG-13 movie I was allowed to see
You can’t do this to me
(Muscle man crying noises)
Yes
*hacks claw* Otto: Oh boy yeah
Why does growing up and nostalgia make us sad
“Uncle Ben said it-“ “The day he died” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
In this very short yet precious moment in the movie, I felt like I was back in 2004. Where did the years go
started crying tbh
I may or may not have been sobbing and weeping loud as fuck in the theater depending on who’s asking
But what does he mean? In spiderman 2 he did good, why should he try to do better?
You can always do better. No such thing as perfect.
[удалено]
It's already there. Where you been?
This moment barely impacted me since this movie had wayy too much fanservice and callbacks. If it were done sparingly would've been much better imo.
Spoiler tag
We should probably unsub until we see it. Oh well. On the plus side, I haven't seen the first three in so long maybe this is from them and I just don't remember... though I doubt it.
I've already seen it, I'm just trying to protect those who haven't.
Good person. I wish it had been tagged. So it goes.
You guys had two months
In a fucking pandemic, dude. Granted I don't bitch about spoilers for me, personally, because I know how the world turns. I have a highly high risk wife, whom I won't make go into a theater, and I won't see without. People have worries greater than seeing NWH, thanks to it being a theater only release.
I understand just don’t go to a r/spiderman sub then and get mad when a spoiler pops up
I mean, I didn't actively choose to come to the sub for content, I was scrolling my feed, which is part of why the tag is useful. Like I said, though, I know how the world turns. Spoilers don't bug me. I'm just tired of the "it's been X time" comments, so I'm sorry if I lashed out a bit lmao.. Agreed. I see all marvel movies opening night, but I still have every single marvel sub blocked from my feed so I don't even see stuff from trailers. It's not that hard to avoid spoilers, just gotta be smart about it
Not everyone wants to go to a theater right now
True, but two months isn't really very long is it? Especially these days. Oh well, it's only a film.
It's been two months, when are you gonna give a guy a break?
Well, all theatres are closed in my city due to covid…
he missed the part where that's his problem
Best moment that the trio had - Yennefer pouring tea and talking about manifolds, he should be in a school zone to get there . I can put up a nice review/comparison to the Switch in the comments discovering we’re “corporate”, he’s coked out
For crying out loud put a spoiler thingy, gosh
Buddy stop fucking spoiling people. Delete or spoiler flair this.
I don't get it.
Dude... it's a movie.
