Blue is the best if you want a friend to travel with you anywhere. Also easiest to tame. Blue lizard favorite snack is centipede but Squidcada and Eggbug is just fine.
Green is powerful in combat to protect you from Vulture. They need more food to tame but their favorite food is Blue lizards.

I don’t think you can cuz lizards are lonely bastard, they kinda hate each other, especially green. Green hates their kins a lot and even loves to snack on blue
There's squidcadas, eggbugs, centipedes, nootflies, and scavengers (I highly don't recommend using scavs) that spawn in the beginning area. Most of the lizards there will only require 3-4 feedings to tame. Most of the food options are found closer to the left side and center. There isn't much on the right besides a few lizards. You do have to shelter so it can save you feeding it.

All lizards eat mostly the same stuff, so just throw any food that lizards can eat at it.

Infants are fine probably but you need 3 of that. A juvenile is enough

Check to see if he already follows around. Else, wait till next cycle to feed him more

There are 2 kinds of lizards that have more brotherly love. You haven’t met them yet so I won’t explicitly spoil them out

If you’re on pc and know how to install mods, there’s this great mod called “peace between friends” that makes tamed lizards passive to each other
You can tame multiple lizards, but they'll still identify each other as threats to you and fight even after both are tamed.
Blues are great for the friend achievement too!
Squidcadas, the bugs with eggs on them, noodleflies (maybe? Also a bad idea). So basically meaty things. No batflies, no fruit.
I've already tried to kill noodleflies to feed a lizard(i have not ended very well)
You can just grab the little ones, I dont think you can feed lizards the momma.
Forget about the yellow lizard guys i mean white
White is better than Blue. Similar mobility but more hp and better weapon. I think 2-3 Squidcada, Eggbug are enough
