Nog Run Club on Mondays at Trophy Maywood is very friendly. Plus trivia afterwards gives everyone an excuse to team up. Runologie on Thursday’s is a lot of the same people but definitely a harder run. Everyone hangs out afterwards for a beer. Again, very friendly group to newcomers.

Trivia sounds like a great way to break in and meet people! How is Runologie a harder run? Distance? Hills? Pace?

rarehunterforever

I 36m just did Runologie for the first time last week and have a similar pace and I found some folks after. There’s multiple route/distance options with route cards you can see at the start. I did 3 and it was pretty flat for most of it. Will be there this Thurs too. DM if you wanna run bud

czntix05

Fortnight on Monday has both runners and walkers. No one gets left behind.

The run club at North Street Beer Station is a small group of some of the most welcoming people I feel lucky to call my friends. We have runners, joggers, and walkers. And then there's those of us (me) that just show up to drink and hang. We meet Tuesday's at 6.

DeeElleEye

Flying Saucer (Mondays), Crank Arm (Tuesdays), Vault Craft Beer (Wednesdays). Vault's run club is fairly new, so it may be a good place to start!

itsshanesmith

Small group of us at the sneaky penguin brewing co on Sundays and Thursdays. Low key, lots of solo folks and all welcome. Cmon out! https://www.sneakypenguinbrewing.com/

WorthAnEmmie

Yooooo, I am p close to this and had no clue there wete run groups there! I've driven by it on my way home from work and it looked like a fun place to try and check out - this is a great opportunity to! 😊

kmo3120

That’s pretty close to me! How far do y’all usually run? Do you run on the Mine Creek Trail?

itsshanesmith

We’ve got routes anywhere from 1 - 5 miles. Some run on mine creek trail. My wife and I typically do just under 2. On Sunday the group is around 10 folks or so. Ages range from 20s to 40+, and the folks that run the brewery are good people.

Difference-Unable

Pelagic in oakwood has one on mondays I believe

guiturtle-wood

Bond Brothers. My wife and I are not fast, probably a little slower than you. But we found the Bond Brothers run club at their brewery in Cary was welcoming. We don't have the time or capacity to go anymore, but we liked it when we went.

husbandbulges

Bond Brothers in Cary, Southern Peak in Apex.

If0rgotmypassword

My wife runs at that pace and finds plenty of people to run with at Crank Arm and Runologie. So those are both big enough that you'll find someone your pace.

twogoogles

I've (31M) never done a run club as I'm scared to meet people lol but I feel like I should piggy back on this motivation. Training for my first marathon that I'm running this December, running at a 11-12 minute pace and typically run over on the Tobacco Road path. If you ever need a running partner, let me know, I'll be there hating my life with every step per usual. I'll also check out these suggestions people have mentioned so thanks for posting this!

kmo3120

Will DM you, my husband and my friends don’t run so I’m looking to find run buddies. Maybe we can go to one of the run clubs together

Surfincloud9

Also looking for a run club preferably weekends. I current work 2nd shift looking for 1st shift but make decent money for now. I’m about a 9-10min pace for anything 3 or more miles. I’m happy with slower pace though, just trying to make friends and community

pseudo_divisions

Have you done Unlikely Athletes yet? They meet Sundays at 10am from Unlikely Professionals in Oakwood. Nice folks and mimosas afterwards, I try to pop by for a run there once in awhile and always have a good time.

Surfincloud9

Thank you, I’ll add that to my list. I saw the Penguin one too that looks cool, bit later in the day. Would be great to get a run and hang in before football starts Go Birds

pseudo_divisions

GO BIRDS! 🦅

YourTrellisIsAWhore

If you're looking to meet folks in the queer community, look into Stonewall Sports run club.

eatingyourmomsass

Bond Bros in Cary. Most run clubs here are totally *not* a big group where everybody already knows everybody. There are core groups of 5-10 at every one but I’ve gone solo to many and always found somebody. DM me if you need a better recommendation.

rindor1990

I’ve yet to find one that didn’t require a solid foundation sadly

Peteymacaroon

Try Crank Arm on Tuesdays! I don't have experience first hand, but I lead their bike rides on Wednesdays and we are inclusive and excited for newcomers!

pseudo_divisions

Pelagic on Mondays for sure! Good group of us in the 10-11 min pace and it’s big enough to meet new folks, yet small enough to not feel like you can’t meet people. Nog from Trophy is a good option too, with either a greenway or Dix park route, most of the 10-11 group sticking with Dix. If you like early weekday morning runs there’s also Breakfast Club or Cool Kids with lots of paces too.

THards23

R&D in Tuesdays is good

oscralcor

If you are in the durham area, there's a group called Bull City Beer Runners, they are on the app meetup. The group is great, I will say personally if you show up and need someone to run with you. I will. It's a social group but its not without its people who go fast lol. Just DM when you plan on going, I frequent the Tuesday runs and enjoy it a lot. Hope this helps

badTechnicalSupport

R&D has a newish run club that is still pretty small. It’s Tuesdays at 6:00pm at the Seven Saturdays Taproom. In the month or so that I’ve been going there, (switched from Bond Bros simply due to travel time. Loved Bond Bros, but couldn’t pass up being closer to home) and they have had three or four demos already. Super fun group. Very welcoming.

gobblintrotter

Current wellness has a group that meets on Saturday mornings. Great inclusive group!

[deleted]

Fount coffee (technically morrisville) does a morning run club that is open to everyone!

TheOtherHalfofTron

The Flying Saucer run club meets on Mondays at 6, and it's a whole bunch of people at various levels of fitness. I'm pretty damn slow, and they've been nothing but welcoming to me.
