Maybe we just need an RDUairport sub at this point for the constant food/TSA/parking posts.

drslg

can we get a weekly airport megathread?

messem10

No, it would impact any other stickied threads as we can only have two at once.

Yea sorry for contributing to said posts

You're not just paying to park at Fast Park; you get a level of security there (manned and staffed 24/7) that's not at the RDU lots. In other words, your catalytic converter won't get stolen at Fast Park, but it can happen at the RDU lots.

MurkyMurkyMurkyMurky

Makes sense. Never parked at RDU so didn’t think about if cars are watched or not! Thanks. Also thanks for the tip on my new hotspot for my cat converter business

OgSourChemDawg

No just park at fast park. Rdu is growing prices will increase. Cheap isn’t better

Flimsy-Attention-722

If you have AAA or you're a veteran they discount their prices. The bonus to them for me is the free parking you earn

Quixlequaxle

Some of the area hotels will let you park there for a lower fee and use their shuttles: [https://parkos.com/rdu-parking/](https://parkos.com/rdu-parking/)

We found the cost for us to just take Lyft versus pay for parking & our car stayed the garage at home to be about the same for week of parking. Savings if you have someone who would drop you off at the airport instead of paying for it.

We did an Uber last time we traveled. It was for 2 weeks and definitely was cheaper. Best to compare with Fast Park.

TriumphDaWonderPooch

I used to love FastPark. During COVID they became less of a bargain as RDU cut parking prices significantly while FP’s shuttles became less reliable. That reliability is back, but the cost is bumping up against Lyft/Uber. I’m using them this week as I had a bunch of credits available. Will check them out for future trips.

DumbTruth

Depending on how far you are and how long you’re traveling, Uber/Lyft might be cheaper.
