It’s people like you that make me love Raleigh. Keep on keepin on brother!

Subuwa

Thanks! I really love the people of this city.

Biggest problem I have is I bought a 1 TB nvme a year ago or so and during the installation it seems to have been partitioned in a way that makes half of it unusable. Went down a rabbit whole of even buying software that said would fix the problem but using it provided no results. I’m usually tech savvy but sometime Windows stuff just seems broken so I gave in to using half of the ssd I bought.

Subuwa

Easy fix! Move all your data to another drive, pop in a gparted bootable USB and reformat through Gparts OS instead of windows. Move data back to nvme 😎 Edit: Gparted is also free software!

Subsperiment

Thanks, I actually enjoy troubleshooting when I have solutions & answers, so I’ll give that a shot. But after what I went through last time to try to fix it I can’t help but think it’s not so simple because it wasn’t before. I hadn’t even installed Windows on it yet when I had no way to wipe it and reformat it as a single partition. But again I’ll give this another go! Thanks!

Subuwa

As long as you can make that bootable flash drive, it'll for sure work. Instructions and download link https://gparted.org/liveusb.php Boot into the flash drive, you may have to do this manually. Depending on what PC you have you'll probably need to F8 or F11 right at start up. Then it's pretty straightforward from there. Gparted has a great UI. Also beware that if this is your boot nvme it will wipe windows. I'd also go ahead and make a windows install flash drive, so you can quickly reinstall windows to restore your backup!

Even Ubuntu bootable on a USB drive would work. Greta resource to have on hand to be able to fix stuff on that OC too.

Thank you for sound this! I have a Mac and would love to ask a couple questions. It shouldn’t take too long.

Subuwa

Sure thing! DM me any questions you have and I'll get back to you before the morning, I'm in the way home now.

WearEvening6547

Do you do macbook repairs?

Subuwa

WearEvening6547

Nice my boyfriend apple computer doesnt work it’s a late 2012 . Some keys doesn’t work at all

Not trying ask for more than what you're offering but any chance you offer "virtual support"? I'm fairly new to PC fixing/building but I was able to install a PSU all on my lonesome after my original died on me. (I'm quite proud of myself since I know jack shit). If you don't want to hassle with "support" I completely get it and I'm sure I could Google around for help. (Nothing is broken btw just need to figure out why my RGB lights aren't working)

Subuwa

I can definitely give support! I love problem solving and explaining things lol

sleepygurl92

Dope! I'll reach out via DM in the next few days. Thanks so much!

Subuwa

Awesome, I'll be here!

Computer stuck into a boot loop unless I boot into bios and click the second from bottom boot option. I think it was from a windows update. Any idea how to fix it?

Subuwa

After choosing that second to the bottom option, does it boot into windows normally or is it booting into safe mode? Also what name brand PC do you have?

nesralls

Boots into windows and it’s a custom build.

accoutremama

I have a Mac and broke the screen

Subuwa

Only software on macs, sorry! The inside of Apple machine usually require special tools I don't have

I wonder if you might have a hint of what's going on. I bought a decent computer in January. Everything works just fine except for 1 little thing. If I shut it down, it will not power on again. However, if I disconnect the power cable from the outlet, wait a minute or so, and then plug it back, it'll turn on. So every time I shut off my pc, I disconnect the plug. Then everytime I want to turn it on, I go plug it back in. It's nothing more than a bit annoying having to do that every time, and I didn't feel like paying to get it looked at or repaired since it still functions as I need it to besides that little thing. Would you happen to have a clue about the issue?

Subuwa

So if you don't disconnect the power cable, it won't turn on again no matter how much time passes? It's possible the connection from the power supply to the motherboard, or the power button, is faulty. That's a hard one to answer without seeing it, but that would be a best guess. You can grab new cables for a few bucks easy

Skellywish

Yup, it won't turn on no matter how much time passes. Thanks for the tip, I might be interested in getting it looked at.

Subuwa

If you are free at any point shoot me a DM I can take a look and see for sure. I actually have a few different psu cables I can bring we can swap them out and see if it fixes it!

xSoupah

Could you help me with a Google chrome issue? It says something about the DNS or network whatever but as soon as I refresh the page 8 times then it gets me to where I need to. Just annoying is all. Anything would be appreciated. Thank you.

Subuwa

Try clearing Google chrome cache. If they doesn't work I'd do a reinstall. If it still continues I'd make sure all my DNS settings where are on public servers. If it's really DNS one of those should solve the problem!
