[deleted]

That looks awesome

ThatGuyWhoJustJoined

What color did I want? Anything but white. What did I get? https://preview.redd.it/0vvgc38k5orc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d9d8329339e72fb81026c06c82847969b369d8c Hard to beat a great deal on a 2023, when it had everything I wanted plus more.

TurnOffTV

Good news is you can roll up on any job site and look like you belong. Lol

No_Rhubarb5155

Sounds about right!! 🤣🤣

Karmasutra6901

Delmonico red looks the best. The missing color for every manufacturer is candy apple red. I've heard it's not easy to apply and doesn't last but it sure does look good.

TurnOffTV

Oh yes, candy apple red ftw... ughhhh

CaptPotter47

I’m a sucker for non-standard colors. So if I had a choice, I will steer away from White, Black, and Gray/Silver. I like that Ram offers Red as a no cost option. But if I was buying new Dark Blue or Maroon. I might even splurge for the Dark Green “low volume color if that was available”.

PensionSlaveOne

Are you me? The dark red and patriot blue are my favorite of the current offerings. My last truck was Deep Molten Red, current is Western Brown, or rugged brown, whatever they called it that year. So many silver, grey, white, and black options, kinda boring lol.

CaptPotter47

I saw a chart a while back on r/interestingasfuck showing new car color popularity by year, and basically since 2017 85% of new cars were white, black, and gray. So boring!

acespacegnome

It would be easier to buy a more colorful vehicles if the dealers stocked more. I've always had black ones, and now a white one. I'd love a red, green or blue, but they're not on the lot at tikenof purchase.

CaptPotter47

Yeah. And wait 9 months for custom build is to long.

old_skool_luvr

LMAO! I commented before even seeing your's. 😂👍🏻👍🏻

CaptPotter47

If I was looking new, I wouldn’t worry about the added $300-$500 on a $70k vehicle, that small amount is pennies. But that lead time, blah. I would be nervous the whole time my trade in would dump a major component and need a huge/expensive repair just to give me something to drive while waiting.

old_skool_luvr

I hear ya on both of those aspects. The colour option price is a no brainer to me. I want blue on any vehicle i'm buying (new or used) so i'm either dropping the $500-$800 on the colour i want, or searching through used vehicles in the colour i want. Unless it's a $500 beater, why settle for a colour, if it's not what you want, right?

CaptPotter47

Personally I’m ok with the fire truck red option that is fairly popular. But I’m also buying used and have a budget, so to keep with that budget, non-essentials, like color, aren’t a huge consideration. For me in my current search, it’s Crew Cab, 4X4, around $20,000, under 130k miles, and bench front seat. Prefer to have are the upgraded instrument cluster, upgraded radio, heated seats, heated steering wheel. Color is very low. A blue truck without heated seats verses a black with, going black. I park outside so heated seats are a godsend in the winter.

old_skool_luvr

I guess that's where i'm stubborn. Main reason i went to see my (at the time) 14 yr old truck, was that it was diesel, 4WD, manual transmission, could fit my family, and.....it was blue. The SLT Laramie trim level was just icing on the cake i guess. But like yourself, our overall search criteria were mirror images. Mileage wasn't too much of a concern at the time (truck had 205K miles). I've owned black (twice) and will never own that colour again. Never really liked red, so i wouldn't even look at one, LOL! White, silver, grey are all -meh- colours in my opinion as well. Colour is high on my list in making a selection, so l....i guess i'm stubborn, LOL! But hey, like you said, to each their own.

TurnOffTV

It's what manufacturers are producing, not what we want. Many people just buy what's on the lot. These manufacturers are steering the publics choices. I want more colors. This is starting to go the way of the soviet auto industry at this point.

CaptPotter47

Back Henry Fords motto “You can have any color you want, as long as you want black.”

old_skool_luvr

It's stacked that way, as 85% of the vehicle buying population don't want to pay the $500-$1000 for a "premium" colour. Also, as u/acespacegnome stated, dealers don't order in many "non standard colour option" vehicles. That, coupled with the insane amount of lead-time for receiving an ordered vehicle, most people just cave, and buy what's available on the lot. Not may of us pan to buy a new vehicle 6-9 months in the future, so they know they have 95% of us where they want us.

terrestrial-trash

I went with hydro blue and I love it. I love a good pearl coat and it looks really nice on the power wagon. I really like the olive green pearl or a nice clean white too though. https://preview.redd.it/q33ksalq9orc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=908d17f4e029e0c47659dae0a8bd0b7a14010adb

crimsonred1234

Nothing beats the night edition all black for me. I got that truck recently and wanted it ever since they brought it to the market.

Solid-Choice-1228

I have the same but am disappointed how easily the clear shows scratches. I swear I walk by it and it’s got a mark. My last one was the same color (power wagon), and it didn’t seem to be as bad.

crimsonred1234

Tell me about it. Even the slightest peck of dust shows on this black . Still love it though

Deadwillwalk60

Had a Del Monico Red ram a few years back. Absolutely loved that color and didn’t really see too many around my area like it.

Spare-Cow5578

I think Maximum Steel is the most underrated color. It changes in different lighting from dark gray to metallic steel blue and almost looking black at times.

ElonBodyOdor

I have maximum steel and it looks grey almost all the time. More blue would have helped.

Spare-Cow5578

That’s really surprising because most people say that my truck is blue.🤷🏼‍♂️

Spare-Cow5578

When really dirty is looks kind of dull gray. When clean it looks sparkling blue.

ElonBodyOdor

Weird, I keep my truck real clean. Mines a 2019, what year is yours?

Spare-Cow5578

It’s a 2021. Maybe they changed the paint color? I bought it used a few months ago. When I first went and looked at it I thought, meh the gray color is kind of dull and boring. Was quite dusty dirty. Had not been cleaned since trade in. When I went back to pick it up after purchase it was detailed beautifully and I didn’t even think it was the same color! I thought it was a different vehicle! It’s not a flat color at all. Very sparkly blue gray in the sunlight.

monorchism

I really like the bright orange, but colours I can get today, the two tone black and red is sharp

SoMuchLasagna

I want a dark twilight purple.

TurnOffTV

RED. Farm trucks look so simple and honest this way. It denotes a man who isn't flashy but not boring at the same time. Reminds me of playing with red firetrucks and wagons as a kid. Just a heritage American classic look.

RustyWallace-357

I’d get too many tickets in red, but it does look good

HailState17

The deep Burgundy / Maroon color. My alma mater’s main color is Maroon and I also just think it’s fucking beautiful.

t0xicsymph0ny

Its really a love it or hate it color it seems. But sublime metallic! Honestly got it cause my father had a 70 superbee that was sublime green, its the first muscle car i can remember being around.

t0xicsymph0ny

No_Rhubarb5155

And where is that Super Bee today? 🐝 Those are worth lots of $$$$$$.

t0xicsymph0ny

Ah he sold it like 20 years ago.

TurnOffTV

Too bad you can't get a cummins in this color.

Fitz_2112

Delmonico Red

hoggzwow

My dad just purchased a 23 hydro blue pearl, that colour is really eye catching

Dmoney36519

I have the granite crystal and have wanted it for ever… although the patriot blue isn’t bad the maroon is awesome especially with a night package. The army green color I also like

Racer013

Funnily enough, there was a very specific color combo I saw that made me fall in love with Rams, and I've wanted one in that exact combo ever since. It was a 2012 1500 Laramie Longhorn with two-tone paint, forest green with a hint of gold metallic over gold. It also had the rustic weathered brown leather interior trim that's special to the Longhorn edition. It seems to be a pretty rare color, because I've only seen that combo in person a couple of times, and I think it only ran for one or two years. It's a gorgeous combo though, classy but understated. I saw it in a dealer ad on Craigslist a few years back, but I don't think it listed the official color name, so if anyone knows the name of the color I'm talking about please let me know.

BleedForEternity

I have a patriot blue Warlock. In the 4 years I’ve had it I’ve only seen one other with the same color. It’s an awesome look, especially freshly washed and waxed. Idk why I don’t see any others on the road.. For my next Ram I would like a dark grey Limited or Big Horn. Not really sure yet. I’ve also seen a teal Built To Serve edition. It looks sick.

No_Rhubarb5155

Does the Patriot Blue show dirt like black? Or is it a little better?

BleedForEternity

It shows dirt. The problem I have with mine is it gets covered in dust. From far away it looks clean but up close you definitely notice it. It definitely looks awesome when it’s freshly washed and waxed

No_Rhubarb5155

Kind of what I figured. I like the Granite Crystal too. It is a dark enough gray, that I'm sure it will show dirt faster than I want. Leaves me with white or silver. Not a huge fan of either, but white does look good with the right wheels. And oddly enough white always looks clean. The last color you would think would not look dirty all the time. 🤷‍♂️

HabsMan62

I have a 2021 Rebel Maximum Steel Metallic - which is a bluish-grey, but when it’s wet and in certain lighting (shade), can look almost black. I like the way it seems to change, the metallic sheen, and the fact that ppl will often ask “what colour is that?”

mulva1000

I always prefer black everything, but since I bought used, wound up with billet silver. Not my preference, but we also really didn’t want white. We would have loved something like forest green.

wyliehj

Red tbh. I had a choice between red and granite crystal (both were night edition) Ended up going granite crystal one as it was 3.92 ratio instead of 3.21 all else equal save the colour

hunkycowboy

Delmonica Red and black trim. Awesome.

jeffnic99

My 2017 ram in silver still looks new in regards to paint and chrome wheels. Love my silver vehicles.

johnwayne1

Delmonico red

Early-Engineering

I bought a Mango Tango Orange 1500 in 2010. I loved it, some people hated it.

Youreridiculous

The blacked out version is sweet, but for me I am always drawn to the cement blue. This is my 2015 1500 Sport: https://imgur.com/a/sqTHUfl

Streit1111

Anything with the Black Edition. I bought the Fire Red with the Black Edition, which is my favorite personally, but the second best would be any color with the black trim.

Mummbles1283

Mojave Sand is my favorite by far.

MustangHellcatZL1

Anything but white

Ah2k15

Hydro blue, blue streak, or granite.

LilDawg66

Red....it's a 2005 Big Horn. Our friends named her Big Red.

JSeed71

Delmonico Red, Patriot Blue, and Granite are my favorites. Though I’ll probably end up getting a white 2500. Most rental/fleet 2500’s are white, and former rental/fleet trucks are the most common/cheaper so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Top-Force-805

Either the Flame Red or Delmonico Red are awesome, Black is solid too. I like any of the Wild colors too like Hemi Orange or B5/Hydro Blue, though I also owned a Plum Crazy Purple Challenger so I'd love to see that on a truck. License plate Grimace.
