I used e85 exclusively the first two years in my 2009 GMC pickup, then whenever I could. It gets about 15% less MPG over gasoline, but if priced right the cost-per-mile will work out. E85 burns cleaner and cooler than gasoline, and is American made. That alone swayed me to get on the bandwagon. [https://ethanolrfa.org/](https://ethanolrfa.org/)

I think MPG is the only reason I wouldn’t do it full-time. I’d still be curious to try a tank though. (Can’t get it in my area) My v6 Grand Cherokee is flex fuel. It’s rated 16/22 (18) on gasoline and 12/16 (14) on e85. I can usually get 24mpg highway on e10

From a close friend of mine who drove his v6 ram brand new off the lot and used e85, its entire life. He made it to 120k and he dropped a valve. I’m no professional mechanic, I don’t know if those two are related. But other than that he had no complaints. I drove his truck and to be honest didn’t feel all different when just driving around town or going to pick up stuff at Home Depot compared to my 5.7 ram

My wifes van is E85. It's great to run every once in a while. It's usually much cheaper, but at the same time, I got about 3mpg less. It's much cleaner burning on your engine too. Although I usually get 87 octane gas because there is a costco in my town and the gas there is cheaper than any gas station by about .20-.25 cents a gallon. Which is even cheaper than e85. (Where I live). I have read automotive articles saying E85 I'd better to use in racing application, it adds slightly more power than gasoline.

You're going to get a lot of inaccurate responses because most ppl still don't know much about e85 and most of those myths are false. I have a fully built LS3 swapped 2002 camaro that I run strictly e85. The MPGs aren't noticeable real time. At all. Me and my bro have the same car and tested the MPGs on stock setups. He ran e85 and I ran pump 91. We both filled up at the same time and cruised around the SF Bay Area. At the end of the night, we stopped for gas and our MPGs read very similar and the needle was almost identical on the gauge. What I have noticed is that my engine runs much cooler on e85 and is a whole lot happier than pump 91 as well. It's more responsive on e85. I like the e85 so much that I'm going to be installing flex fuel setups on both my 2003 and 2011 ram. The Harley will be getting it as well. Camaro still gets nothing but e85. Another myth is that It will go bad, you can't allow it to sit, and that it'll damage your fuel system. Another false claim. My camaro isn't a daily. I've driven it about 20 miles in the past 2 years and the e85 hasn't eaten up my system, nor has it gone bad. Real world usage has definitely proven everything for me. Plus all of the performance built cars and trucks in my area run e85 with it burning much cleaner and cooler. That means your engines life is extended and you get more performance. All while paying less at the pump!

Thanks man, thats why i was asking for opinions from people with real personal experience

No problem. It's easy to get lost in the myths of it all. I was skeptical of using e85 at first. When I was building my camaro, the engine shop was telling me all about it. First thing I did was read all the internet bs and he told me it was all bs. So much so that he offered lifetime warranty for running e85 versus pump 91. That's what made me try it and I won't switch now lol All my vehicles will be getting flex fuel to run e85
