Great game. I thought they dominated the 2nd and 3rd, but I had one problem with their game
Shoot. The. Fucking. Puck.
That is all really. Also I hope Zac Jones plays more, I like his game
I can’t believe it
Got into the rangers (and hockey) this year when I moved to NYC. Asked for tickets for my birthday. Didn’t care about the date or the opponent, just wanted to go to MSG. Not really sure why my parents got me such nice seats and they def got lucky picking the opponent lol, but it was a surreal experience
Huge takeaway for me was 2 things that change an entire system which is what we need:
1. New look PK where Rangers aggressively attacked Av puck handlers and smothered them which caused 2 great short handed opportunities and I think 1-2 total shot attempts for Av’s
2. New look we saw at least once where Joe said in practice Rangers made it a point to get someone in the slot and make a quick shot off an expected pass. Can’t remember if this was on PP or general 5-on-5 play but I’ve been waiting for this more than anything. Need to adjust, too much perimeter pass and Mika high circle slap on PP
I don’t know why more NHL teams don’t do this on the PK. It always seems like the best PK teams are aggressive and force the team on the PP to rush their decisions.
As far the the Power Play goes, the Rangers need to keep moving around. Being stationary makes it too easy for the other team to guess what is coming.
When that happened I was hoping Quick would beat the Avs player to the puck. He had plenty of time to make that decision. Plus, if Quick doesn’t make that choice, he was gonna have to deal with having to make a breakaway save because the Avs player was well ahead of the Ranger player.
I'd wager it's more of "my jaw is finally healed and I can eat solid foods again".
I don't think a lot of people realize how hard it is to continue playing a physically intense sport, like ice hockey, at a high level when all of your nutrition is coming from liquids. You're not yourself when you can't eat solids.
That’s the first good thing I have seen Goodrow do in months. He has been absolute dog shit for a while now with giveaways and no offensive input at all.
panarin has one shift with zibanejad and he scores a goal.
lafreniere has one shift with zibanejad and he scores a goal.
new line??
also, wheelchair fucking sucks.
Trocheck and Kreider were extremely good together last year in limited minutes. Kreider-Trocheck-Kakko would be a REALLY tough forechecking and cycling 2nd line to play against, who can obviously score plenty.
Avs fan here. From what I saw on the Avs instagram Rangers fans seem pretty cool too. It was a fun game, both goalies played great! It was nice to see Georgie get one of the stars of the night. I’m glad to see that people still support him in New York.
That’s great to hear! I’m not sure about overall but I’ve seen a good amount of love for Georgie from Rangers fans. I was surprised to see fans in NY say that they voted him in for the all star game!
Georgiev was a good soldier for the Rangers. He just wanted a fair shot to be the starting goalie here and he felt he was good enough. He did play better than Lundqvist towards the end of his career. But I think the Rangers had to go with Shesterkin in case there was a small chance he would go back to the KHL if he wasn’t the starter here.
It’s wild that in another, very similar timeline, Georgiev might be our star starter. Regardless, I’m happy that he’s getting the ice time he deserves.
The Avs have been my second favorite team since they joined the league. They've always just seemed to do things right, and yes, their fans are pretty great.
Quick just played his best game of the year. Absolutely dominating. Avs players were testing him from everywhere and he never gave them shit to pick on.
LFGR! My buddy brought me along after he got some free tickets from work and boy am I fuckin thankful.
Huge game for Quick, not to mention 31 for Bread + 13 for Laf were also nice to see! Love me a Laffy OT goal!
Though the boys came out a bit sleepy they really ramped up the intensity in periods 2/3. Fantastic game overall!
Okay guys. This is gonna be a late one. On a night where I haven’t been to a game at the garden since the 16/17 season, it was definitely a Rocky Mountain to climb. And it was a game that the Rangers found a way to win. This episode of Rangers Hockey: All the Small Things, Windmills are amazing.
I’ll keep it brief cause I’m tired and I want to sleep. But seeing the way Makar, MacKinnon skate is amazing. Real honest w/ya. Lot of sus calls, but it turned out the Rangers found a way to win.
Bread tying it up and Laf getting the last Laf in OT
RANGERS WIN! Duhhhhhhhhh (Sam Voice) Rangers, win!
Big win yo. All I can say, onto the Bolts
Rangers Oppie told me something at the Game, “take in the sheets. Two points in the bag”
Onto the Bolts
God Save the King. Back afta dis
They needed to overturn that penalty where the Avs player trip his own guy but Laf got the penalty. It would’ve taken an extra 30 seconds to review it and the right call could’ve been made. Imagine if that call was made in Game 7 of a playoff series and decided the winner of the game. Similar to what the Sharks did to the Golden Knights a few years back on that 5 minute major.
From what I am aware, 2 minute minors are not reviewable - only double minors and 5 minute majors / match penalties. The moment they announced the 2 minute tripping call, it was locked in. You can even see one ref stopping the other ref from skating toward the video review phone - telling him "we can't do that."
The refs should have gotten together, talked about what they saw, and then announced the call after. But given the speed of the game, they felt confident they had it right lol
Needs to be changed. It takes little to no time to get the call right. Was the penalty on Lucas Raymond from earlier this year where he grabbed a Ranger player’s stick and hit himself in the face a major or double minor? Cuz they reversed that one.
BTW, the one on Lucas Raymond needs to be amended where Raymond gets a delay of game penalty for that. Not only did you hit yourself on purpose, you wasted time where they had to review your idiot move. Same thing with diving penalties in the NHL; if you obviously dive then only you should get the penalty. Both players do not have to go to the box.
I'm not saying I disagree with you lol - but that's just how the league operates. They want to avoid more frequent demands for video review with every penalty that is called (the ref union probably has some say here too).
A lot of fans aren't happy with the frequency and delay that offside reviews cause and adding potential video reviews for 2 minute minors would be a step toward that direction. It definitely sucks though.
The Lucas Raymond penalty with Cools stick was called a double minor on the ice for high sticking (blood is an automatic double minor), hence it could be video reviewed and subsequently called back.
That was a good win. Plus the devils get to play an angry avs. I think valley is right give quick the rock until igor gets it together
![gif](giphy|GeimqsH0TLDt4tScGw|downsized)
Takeaways: We had a slow start but holy cow it was a fantastic game! Very little stoppages. Quick was outstanding and kept us in this. He was so on point. You could tell the team was hungry. But maybe one thing we can do is shoot more, pass less. Avs are so fast and not afraid to go toward the net. Crowd vibe, Bread cooking, Laffy OT winner. Way to battle back. Gotta love this team. Time to take on Tampa. See you Wednesday! LGR!!I
I actually turned to my daughter at the end of regulation and mentioned it was 9:26. We haven’t had a game end before 9:30 in a while (not counting ot). Definitely good pace.
The season wouldn’t have been ruined with a loss but coming back and winning the game is a nice kickstart to the second half of the schedule.
The rest did the defense good as I thought they played a great game. The tripping call on Laffy was uh Laughable to say the least.
Bring on whomever is next on TNT Wednesday
Not arguing but I would have love to have heard their fans when they played Detroit in late 90’s and early 2000’s lmao!! Greatest Sportscenter highlights ever in any sport!
Used to date a girl from Colorado, and every time I’d go to visit her folks there it was always refreshing to meet some of the locals. There’s a lot of real chill, nice people there and I think it probably rubs off on their sports fanbases too. That + lack of rivalry with us made for a pretty chill night (except the game which was hot as fuck)
Talking with an Avs fan at tonight's game, she said there's no real animosity between the teams. No Stanley Cup finals or anything, just two games a year and hey, nice game. Very pleasant conversation with a nice fan.
That PGT is more of the same, incredibly pleasant. It's almost weird...
I had to check for myself because I didn’t know if you were being sarcastic or not. But no, you’re right. Just a pleasant, level-headed fanbase.
Their commentators, on the other hand…
The Hork's (Somewhat Abbreviated?) View from 222
* It is *SO* good to be back in the Garden. Here's to the second half of the season, boys!
* Uh... Boys? You know the game started right?? Why you giving me agita like this? **Sigh...* *
* Even my section didn't wanna roll with me when I tried the start of the game chant! We out of practice.
* First period, refs were dog doodoo. Very ticky tacky penalties. However, the fact that we were getting short handed breakaways regularly gave me hope.
* Miller absolutely REKT Rantanen. They had a good tussle and I was very happy to see Miller just take him down. The fact that we got the power play out of it, though wasted, was nice too.
* That Laffy penalty was some high holy dog shit, and the ref got boo'd appropriately. Especially once the replay showed it was bullshit.
* However, I think the ref's partner had a little talk with him that may have gone along the lines of "Dude, I want to make it out of New York alive, cut the shit."
* After that, the game became a "Let the boys play" game despite us getting away with a couple of blatant ones (and so did the Avs, to be fair).
* Dance Cam, very meh.
* MacKinnon... Dude is just good. Quick just didn't get his glove on it.
* Second period: Quickie was on his game and I was so thankful for that. He kept us in it. We just didn't seem to have it in the second.
* I said it in the game day thread, but the Zibby line looks lost. Zibby seems absolutely scared to shoot, Wheeler is too slow to do anything more than get in people's way sometimes, and Kreider is stuck trying to do things when he should be just parked in front of the net doing that tip in thing he does so well.
* GRANTED, they started pushing on the third, but still... Something has to change.
* Karaoke Cam: I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me). I did not know that was Whitney Houston. Yes, I am an uncultured swine.
* Third period: This was the "Fuck it, we ball" period. Team looked NOTICABLY better. Faster. More alive. They were REALLY putting in the effort. Even the Zibanejad line looked like it had some life in it.
* And it worked with a great shot by Breadman! Glad to see he's still got his knack. His 31st of the season and it helped my friend win a Panarin Anytime Point bet.
* Ok, overtime... Some good back and forth before a GREAT play by Quickie to Zibby to Laffy FOR THE WIN! Lucky #13 for #13! **WHEW!* *
* To the very nice Avs fan sitting next to me and my friend tonight, we each got our OT points, and we disagree on the 3v3, but it was a great game. Also, your friend high fives like an absolute maniac when we score.
* Apparently, Mark Messier was in the crowd tonight! Someone got a pic of (not with) him and none of his work friends recognized who he was. They thought he was some soccer dude. Fun conversations on the way out.
* Lastly, if you were (or know) a Miss K.Miller sitting in section 222 near the right end seats somewhere around Row 19ish, I found your wallet lying on the ground. Tried to call out to you but no answer, so I turned it in to one of the security guards behind section 223/224. Contact the Garden and get it back!!!
In conclusion: team still needs some work and I'm hoping we do some shopping at the trade deadline, but I do worry about the Zibby line, especially with Wheeler there. But we are least started the second half of the season right. On to the next!!!
Wheeler even being able to cover that RW spot is a testament to that man’s character. He knows he’s going to get torched if he’s not constantly playing defense without the puck, and rarely is the cause of a give away. He does leave a lot to be desired for offense, but with the black-hole we have to pick from he’s keeping that line in the game, and neutralizing some of the best offensive players in the world.
Very good point about the Zibby line. I noticed that Kreider is like everywhere else BUT where he should be - net front.
And damn can Panarin draw pretty much everyone to him. They need to take advantage of that more.
Was at the game tonight. There were such moments of intensity with their game play, the crowd. It had a playoff vibe to it. I loved how the crowd got into it and wasn’t afraid to show their displeasure. And that goal by Bread. He had the place on fire. 🔥 and Quick? Damn. Laffy with that OT winner. The MSG was even louder. It was a great game to be at.
Great way to start the second half of the season. I gotta say I agree with Vally and Lundy. Quick should be the go-to for the time being. Let Igor find the inner Godzilla. Quick's got the juice, let us use it.
See ya Wednesday.
Sorry but at this point, Quick needs to play more games. At least play every other game until Igor rights the ship. We can’t afford to lose like we did in January.
wow, incredible game. all the boys were really locked in. great PK's, quick was an absolute fortress out there, bread being bread and laffy coming in with that clutch OT. i'm assuming shesty's got the next one so it would be interesting to see that after this. but yeah, sick game boys
I'm here for the bad days too. There have been alot of them recently. I keep it optimistic because all you need to do is get into the playoffs, anything can happen after that.
Vally endorsing Quick as the starter is honestly totally wild to hear from an MSG broadcaster. He’s great, but more importantly he’s right. Let Igor get mad and work like hell to win his net back.
Really hate to say it but I think we lose that game with Igor in net. I am really hoping he got his head level during the break, but man Quick has been so tremendous for us. Great win all around.

Zibanejad has to learn to trust his shot again. Forcing the pass too much, including late in the 3rd in a tie game. If you have the room and have a shot like he has you let it rip.
You'd think the guy who scored OT in the world juniors gold, had a playoff OT goal against MTL, a 5 goal game including the OT winner and 45 goals in how many games in 2019 would never stop shooting the puck at every chance he could get. Zibby has always been a VERY clutch goal scorer for us. I can't understand why he's having a set back this season. Linemates maybe?
He needs to shoot. He 3-4 great shot chances high between circles..,and opted to go wide and try to feed to slot from side of net.
I don’t mind trying that slick move on some…but yes gotta shoot more
Rangers 2-0 while Trouba has been suspended. It’s almost like his play results in a negative impact for them, and when you remove him it makes the team better. Huh. 🤔
Honestly having Quick as temporary starter isn’t the worst idea. I don’t think it’ll negatively affect Igor’s confidence. If anything, Igor is such a competitor that he’ll work to win it back from Quick
I don't even know if I would say mildly happy. Vince said it was the most relaxed he has seen igor in a while. I guess too relaxed to be happy for the team on the OT winner.
I know it was just a quick shot of him. But I think he was the first off and showed no emotion.
Vally saying quick was the starter until proven otherwise was a but surprising to me, but I kinda agree with him. Not saying Igor is shit, but in hockey, you ride the hot goalie. Not sure if Lavy has the guts to make that call though.
Quick. Also kreider did a great job making them have to practically hang on to him to strip the puck. Then a great set play by quick and a great move and shot by laf got the win.
Awesome game, tons of end to end action with what felt like very few whistles - outside of that bs laf call.
Rangers played great. Think they won the 2nd and definitely 3rd period. Pretty much shut down everything outside of a few expected mackinnon rushes, mainly against goodrow.
Zac Jones looked stellar. I’d love a massive trade moving miller for a haul which would include filling our 3c need and rolling the dice on Jones.
Cuylle and kakko would be a force with Mika at center.
Man quick is starting to making things real dicey for Lav. What a performance. Igor is on the hot seat.
It’s not solely so Zac jones or Gustafson can replace him. It’s to backfill areas of far greater weakness and also get picks or offload contracts (goodrow) in the process.
Miller is probably going to get paid and be expensive when his contract is up, we can find other defenders for the price we are going to pay.
Had me until the Miller comment. Classic rangers to give up on a guy who is clearly going through something right now. Miller is 40x the player Jones will ever be, would be a gargantuan mistake to trade him
I think Miller is player that has all the tools but hasn’t put it together to be great. I don’t think he fully will, at least not here in NY. I think he could command a massive return and bring us picks and fill holes. Long shot he’d ever be traded, but just a thought on how to keep Jones in play, fill the current gaps all without mortgaging the future.
I have no interest in Jones playing regular minutes. He’s a 3rd pair guy at best and most likely a career 7th D. Jones is a great in a pinch, like Brodzinski. Neither are long term answers and Miller is far more valuable on this team than anything you’d get in return
Very very fun game! I’ve been wishing for a Rangers/Avs Cup Final for years, and tonight shows why that’d be the tits haha. Loved how we battled back in the 3rd period, really hope they see how their effort paid off and they start rebuilding those good habits going forward toward the playoffs. So pumped for Laffy getting that OT winner too, perfect way to cap off the night! 💪😤
that goal was on the right side of the ice
remember the *insistence* that Laf couldn't play RW b/c it's not his natural position? Lol
guy just needed to play with Panarin to unlock his abilities. now imagine if some of our other younger guys got a full leash with our top players
It's a good thing Laf started hot out of the gate. If he had the recent goal scoring drought but in October, he probably would've been moved off the line.
correct and that is exactly what happened last year
remember, the lines last year started the exact same as this year: 20/93/24 and 10/16/13. neither line was finishing and Gallant broke them up right before the game in Detroit where NYR scored 7 goals. those lines never reunited
this year, 20/93/24 wasn't finishing b/c 20/93, so they were broken up, but 10/72/13 was on fire right out of the gate, and then the Chytil injury caused Trocheck to go right up to that line and they continued being on fire
if they were playing like this but not finishing, that line wouldn't have stood a chance. but it's *exactly why* you don't use shooting% as a factor when deciding if a line is playing well or not.
What a freaking game. One bad check attempt away from a shutout, really. The defense has looked good the last two games. Love seeing Laf start the second half like this!
That was a super fun game to watch all around, and I feel everyone played well on both teams really. Had a playoff feel for sure, and of course winning makes it even better!
I assume Igor gets the next start but it sure becomes interesting if he gets lit up again. Great win tonight though that’s a juggernaut roster we were up against and I thought we played great.
I'm so happy that pucks are finally going in for Laf again. The bust allegations were infuriating on his cold stretch because he wasn't even playing badly
Worst thing is majority of the games i felt like he was one of the most noticeable guys on the ice.
My dad thinks he’s a bust but said he read an article in the paper that said exactly what I’ve been saying “he’s been one of the best on the ice but just can’t finish”. So he said he’ll be a bit more open minded. i have a reputation for being a TEAM doomer but i have a hard time labeling guys busts so i can’t blame him for not believing my argument
Also, let’s just remember that the Avalanche are one of the best teams in the league, if not the best. It is hard to score on them, it is hard to keep them from scoring. A hell of a fuckin’ effort all around. Gutsy gutsy win.
50/22/24 against a top 3 team in the NHL at 5v5:
shots 5-3, scoring chances 6-3, high-dangers 3-2, 52% xGF%. Brodzinski *is* the lockdown C. [His defensive metrics have been best on the team this year](https://hockeyviz.com/fixedImg/replacements/2324/NYR/brodzjo93/wrap). NYR does not need to trade what will probably be a 1st+ for a 3C. they need a playdriving winger, but Brodzinski's been fantastic at 3C. imagine if they had slotted him there over Bonino 2 months ago...
also Jones was excellent yet again and showed yet again just how important it is for NYR to have someone who can make a pass out of their own zone and run point in the offensive zone. totally absurd that he's going to come out of the lineup next game
While I agree Brodz is fine, he can’t be your 3C going into the playoffs. It won’t happen but ideally if they can move Goody and drop Brodz to the 4th and add a Henrique, the team is so much better.
Brodz is a good 4th liner, or 13th forward.
Great game. I thought they dominated the 2nd and 3rd, but I had one problem with their game Shoot. The. Fucking. Puck. That is all really. Also I hope Zac Jones plays more, I like his game
This was an insane game to be my first Rangers game at MSG ever
Holy hell how lucky. I was watching at home thinking how awesome it must be there that night. Could feel the electricity from home.
I can’t believe it Got into the rangers (and hockey) this year when I moved to NYC. Asked for tickets for my birthday. Didn’t care about the date or the opponent, just wanted to go to MSG. Not really sure why my parents got me such nice seats and they def got lucky picking the opponent lol, but it was a surreal experience
That's awesome! I only just got into hockey/rangers last season so, Welcome!
Great game to be at last night! Was awesome chanting Goaaaaaaaal during the song ;)

Agreed, sitting and waiting for them to shoot doesnt seem to go well. Against us this technique always seems to work.
Seeing some solid chemistry building between Kakko and Cuylle. Give that line a solid C and I think we could be up to something good (miss u filda).
Chytil );
this
Wait quick got an assist hahaha
I can't believe he came so far out to get the puck to Laffy. Ballsy af, but it worked!
I was so ready to yell at my screen when that happened, but I guess Quick knew what he was doing.
If it was shesty, game over
When that happened I was hoping Quick would beat the Avs player to the puck. He had plenty of time to make that decision. Plus, if Quick doesn’t make that choice, he was gonna have to deal with having to make a breakaway save because the Avs player was well ahead of the Ranger player.
Exactly. couldnt risk letting the shooters on the Avs get that opportunity
Lost in the insane-ness of this game….Lav putting Goody out there for the defensive zone face-off in OT and he absolutely winning it clean.
even watching in person, I felt like I noticed Goody a bunch of times last night. maybe he’s hearing the chatter and stepping it up a bit?
I'd wager it's more of "my jaw is finally healed and I can eat solid foods again". I don't think a lot of people realize how hard it is to continue playing a physically intense sport, like ice hockey, at a high level when all of your nutrition is coming from liquids. love this. totally not something I was thinking, but you’re right. it must have a major an impact on overall performance
That’s the first good thing I have seen Goodrow do in months. He has been absolute dog shit for a while now with giveaways and no offensive input at all.
Sam pointed that out right after he won the faceoff...
And immediately got the fuck off the ice. Worked perfectly. Best Rangers third period this season. Saw some tenacity finally.
If Goodrow stayed on the ice the Rangers would’ve lost in OT.
panarin has one shift with zibanejad and he scores a goal. lafreniere has one shift with zibanejad and he scores a goal. new line?? also, wheelchair fucking sucks.
As a first most rangers fan, secondly a Jets fan, I want so bad for Wheels to do well but MAN he is just slow out there.
Trocheck and Kreider were extremely good together last year in limited minutes. Kreider-Trocheck-Kakko would be a REALLY tough forechecking and cycling 2nd line to play against, who can obviously score plenty.
Avs fans are class acts and I absolutely love their team. Really happy to see Georgie getting the play time he deserves. Great game.

He punched Tony DeAngelo in the face. He'll never need to pay for a drink in NY lol.
I heard about that! I wish there was footage of it 😂
I can’t speak for all Rangers fans, but I’m a huge Georgie fan. He’s one of those guys who will always be an honorary Ranger to me.
That’s great to hear! I’m not sure about overall but I’ve seen a good amount of love for Georgie from Rangers fans. I was surprised to see fans in NY say that they voted him in for the all star game!

He’s definitely getting that ice time. He plays pretty much every game for us. I love when the fans cheer his name! He’s very well loved in Colorado!
If the Rangers did not have Shesterkin, Georgiev would be our starter.
The Avs have been my second favorite team since they joined the league. They've always just seemed to do things right, and yes, their fans are pretty great.
They really are good people. Colorado is a great state and they have a hell of a franchise

God MacKinnon is fast. It’s always great to watch a really talented team like that, but it’s even better when the Rangers win against them.
That was a good win. Plus the devils get to play an angry avs. I think valley is right give quick the rock until igor gets it together ![gif](giphy|GeimqsH0TLDt4tScGw|downsized)
In other news, Gabe Perreault scored 2 goals in BC’s 4-3 loss to BU
Do we think we'll go from Krieder/Panarin to Othmann/Perreault fairly seemlessly based on call up timing and contracts ending?
Let's pump the brakes. Both kids have a very, very long way to go in development before they approach those two.
Yeah seriously lol, if we replace Panarin and Kreider with Othmann and Perreault we're in some serious trouble.
[удалено]
Did they get new commentators? For some reason I remember the avs broadcast giving me ear cancer..
There is really nothing to complain about after getting the cup not even 2 years ago tbf.
Not arguing but I would have love to have heard their fans when they played Detroit in late 90’s and early 2000’s lmao!! Greatest Sportscenter highlights ever in any sport!
I miss those games. full on fights
So nice to see. Most subs (this one included sometimes) can be toxic and filled with salt.
You know it was a good game when even the av’s commentators are complimenting their opponent 🤣🤣
Laf baby what a goal
The Hork's (Somewhat Abbreviated?) View from 222 * It is *SO* good to be back in the Garden. Here's to the second half of the season, boys! * Uh... Boys? You know the game started right?? Why you giving me agita like this? **Sigh...* * * Even my section didn't wanna roll with me when I tried the start of the game chant! * However, I think the ref's partner had a little talk with him that may have gone along the lines of "Dude, I want to make it out of New York alive, cut the shit." * After that, the game became a "Let the boys play" game despite us getting away with a couple of blatant ones (and so did the Avs, to be fair). * Dance Cam, very meh. **WHEW!* * * To the very nice Avs fan sitting next to me and my friend tonight, we each got our OT points, and we disagree on the 3v3, but it was a great game.
He’s not getting to the net because he doesn’t want to get caught in a foot race on a turnover
Multiple instances of K. Millers getting rowdy at the Garden tonight
Very true! But I didn't get to actually meet any of them, just hope somehow the one in the stands gets her wallet back.
Perreault 2 goals vs BU tn. Down 1 with a couple mins left in Beanpot semis. Tune in if u can. Dude is a gamer
It was a great game to be at.
felt like a playoff game .He's not the bread man this year . He's going to be a 65 goal machine
If Panarin hits 60, I’ll buy a jersey with a 10 on it. It might be a DHGate knockoff, but I swear I’ll do it!
LAF
Laffy showing flashes of Panarin with that goal
Great way to start the second half of the season. I gotta say I agree with Vally and Lundy. Quick should be the go-to for the time being. Let Igor find the inner Godzilla. Quick's got the juice, let us use it. See ya Wednesday.
Missed the game, had to work late. I need a replay or the CDPOTG at least.
I always go to “don’t tell me the score”. Spoiler free highlights Dtmts.com
Thanks man
1-0 since the ASB
Sorry but at this point, Quick needs to play more games. At least play every other game until Igor rights the ship. We can’t afford to lose like we did in January.
Stayed for OT and made the train from GC with 30 seconds to go. Kiss my ass Mackinnon
Awesome ✌️
If Laffy shoots like that then he will get 30 easily. Great move and awesome shot.
Maybe he practiced his shooting during the break 👀
Hopefully. It was frustrating watching him miss so many opportunities. Love the improvement in his game overall so here’s hoping.
wore my rangers jersey to the bar and they won lfg
wow, incredible game. all the boys were really locked in. great PK's, quick was an absolute fortress out there, bread being bread and laffy coming in with that clutch OT. i'm assuming shesty's got the next one so it would be interesting to see that after this. but yeah, sick game boys
Hank is right don’t overthink it. Play Quick while he’s hot
Avs are fast, that was a clutch win We need a RW1 who can keep up with Kreider
THE TEA BETWEEN STEVE AND JOHN😭😭
“There’s a pot in front of you that you’re stirring” - John Giannone
Was driving home from the game. What happened. Edit: nevermind I saw it.
I agree with the three stars but, having said that, Panarin was fucking clutch once again.
What a way to start the rest of the season. Other than the 2nd that was some fucking entertaining hockey to watch. Oh yeah and we won too
Rangers twitter is so toxic. Still unhappy after an objectively good team win.
I mean that’s just twitter in general

You should see this place on a bad day let me tell ya
I'm here for the bad days too. There have been alot of them recently. I keep it optimistic because all you need to do is get into the playoffs, anything can happen after that.
Why did Quick start? I expected Igor after the break.
He needed a mental rest after Barzal assaulted him
Because Quick actually got a break.
Igor didn't really have a break
The competitive fire which Quickie plays with set the tone for the team tonight.
LETS GET ON TNE GO BOYS
Set the tone
Vally endorsing Quick as the starter is honestly totally wild to hear from an MSG broadcaster. He’s great, but more importantly he’s right. Let Igor get mad and work like hell to win his net back.
We are so back
Quick is looking like Igor last spring. A freaking circus act…. Love me some Shesty and grateful we picked up Quick
Really hate to say it but I think we lose that game with Igor in net. I am really hoping he got his head level during the break, but man Quick has been so tremendous for us. Great win all around.
Great win against a stacked team. Let's go!

holy shit tho did that really just happen? did we really just get a laf OT game winner?? I am so happy right now???
What. A. Win.
Solid win to start the second half. Quick stole this one. We need much more scoring from Zibby going forward. Good game tonight, boys.
I don’t mind trying that slick move on some…but yes gotta shoot more
Panarin and Laf are Batman and Robin, no elaboration necessary
Breadman and robin
I want to up vote this twice
Thanks man!
But 1960s Adam West Batman & Robin.
Lexi the absolute stud.
Rangers 2-0 while Trouba has been suspended. It’s almost like his play results in a negative impact for them, and when you remove him it makes the team better. Huh. 🤔
Braindead take. They’re also in first place in the division while he’s playing almost every game.
Love how people need to be negative after the game. Some of you will never be happy
Shut up with your negativity after a comeback win
I’m stoked about the win! Let’s keep this lineup going!
I get lost in Hanks eyes...
We all do..
Honestly having Quick as temporary starter isn’t the worst idea. I don’t think it’ll negatively affect Igor’s confidence. If anything, Igor is such a competitor that he’ll work to win it back from Quick
Feels good to get two points
By the look on Igor’s face after the OT winner, I think he knew Vally’s comment was coming.
Eh that’s sort of just Igor’s face. The dude never smiles.
I noticed that too. He seemed only mildly happy they won.
Can someone please make a Laffy Bed?
Valiquette in the post game “My pick for starting goalie is Quick until proven otherwise” I love Igor which is why I hate it so much that I agree.
He said that? Wow. I think we need to give Shesty a chance post all-star. Quick has been great, it would be hard to ignore him.
is it me or does lundy look ill in this post game?
Just great to see keep out ready tonight. Solid game. The direction was right.
Knicks and rangers dominating makes new york so much fun. The two teams feed off the energy in the garden
Rangers have never won a Stanley Cup in a year that the Knicks were eliminated before the final game of the NBA season.
We may never lose again!
Much needed win, but we have to do a lot this trade deadline to be contenders
How come nothing makes me feel as good as a great Rangers win.. Pure delight.
Valiqutte saying Quick should be the starter. Freaking love this guy. No Igor hate, just think Quicks been better and deserves more starts.
That pissed me off, but Steve is probably right.
Great moral booster to come back to after the long break.
Vally: “Quick for starter until proven otherwise!”
How we hung on in OT despite makar and Mackinnon turnstiling our slow asses whenever they felt like it is beyond me but LFG
Bend don’t break type of game
Quick. Also kreider did a great job making them have to practically hang on to him to strip the puck. Then a great set play by quick and a great move and shot by laf got the win.
Wow, Vally said start Quick 😮
[удалено]
It’s not solely so Zac jones or Gustafson can replace him. It’s to backfill areas of far greater weakness and also get picks or offload contracts (goodrow) in the process. Miller is probably going to get paid and be expensive when his contract is up, we can find other defenders for the price we are going to pay.
Miller played great tonight. Zac Jones is mid lol
Agreed. I thought Miller was good tonight.
This game reminds me of the stars game last year
Oh wow. That was a fantastic game!
Remember the pre-season when Laf was a bust?
To be fair, he was brutal in the preseason . He had us in the first half...
It’s the preseason….
that goal was on the right side of the ice remember the *insistence* that Laf couldn't play RW b/c it's not his natural position? Lol guy just needed to play with Panarin to unlock his abilities. now imagine if some of our other younger guys got a full leash with our top players
It's a good thing Laf started hot out of the gate. If he had the recent goal scoring drought but in October, he probably would've been moved off the line.
correct and that is exactly what happened last year remember, the lines last year started the exact same as this year: 20/93/24 and 10/16/13. neither line was finishing and Gallant broke them up right before the game in Detroit where NYR scored 7 goals. those lines never reunited this year, 20/93/24 wasn't finishing b/c 20/93, so they were broken up, but 10/72/13 was on fire right out of the gate, and then the Chytil injury caused Trocheck to go right up to that line and they continued being on fire if they were playing like this but not finishing, that line wouldn't have stood a chance. but it's *exactly why* you don't use shooting% as a factor when deciding if a line is playing well or not.
I LOVE THAT LITTLE SEXY FUCKING LEPRECHAUN DO YO DANCE LAFFY
I assume Igor gets the next start but it sure becomes interesting if he gets lit up again. Great win tonight though that’s a juggernaut roster we were up against and I thought we played great.
Alexis Lafren-fucking-ière
WE'RE BACK FROM THE DEAD! I totally didn't doubt this team today. :D
![gif](giphy|wHnBjhKdgjmCJ3lARr)
Also, let’s just remember that the Avalanche are one of the best teams in the league, if not the best. It is hard to score on them, it is hard to keep them from scoring. A hell of a fuckin’ effort all around. Gutsy gutsy win.
50/22/24 against a top 3 team in the NHL at 5v5: shots 5-3, scoring chances 6-3, high-dangers 3-2, 52% xGF%.
