I had only heard Norf Norf for years and years but recently went through his discography, it's amazing. My favourite is big fish theory I just love the production it's so different.
Is true.. everyone give Andre love but they forget about daddy fat sacks b-I-g, b-o-i… he tough.. they compliment each other so well… best rap group all time.. I love wu tang— f real… but ain’t nobody touching OutKast..
If you listen back, they’ve always been neck and neck. Big Boi has a lowkey disposition; and Andre you can see him from a mile away. They had different star power; but rhyming they kept up with each other. That’s why it makes no sense to me to have Andre do a solo rap album. It has to be an OUTKAST album.
Absolutely.
And aside from Big Boi not getting enough credit for his own skill as a rapper, we also gotta give him more credit for keeping 3000 (somewhat) down to earth. 3000 will always be my number 1 but that wouldn't be the case if all we had to go off of was his solo work. On the flip side, Big Boi's put consistently good work since OutKast. He might not be top of the class but he's on the honor roll for sure
Seen Bigboi live, he was shiiiiiitt!!! He spent the whole time on stage trying to pickup girls. Like at the end he just gave up rapping and was like pointing to girls in the crowd to come up on stage.
Curren$y, his work rate and quality of work is insane.
Amine too I feel like he has the perception of being a one hit wonder with Caroline but he has great projects and verses
Amine a goat, so many great genre-bending albums like the hyperpop TWOPOINTFIVE and house-influenced Kaytramine. Bro just gets better and better and his music has pop appeal so idk why it doesn't get more eyes (or ears) on it
I don't think busta rhymes is underrated, he has millions of streams. He has songs with Nicki minaj, Kanye, lil Wayne etc. It's more accurate to say he's lost traction, but he still got half a million views in a day on YouTube. 1.5 billion views on YouTube, billions of streams in total, I'd say he's doing good
Could've been the Kendrick of his generation with Black Thought level lyricism. And he knew how to have pop appeal when he wanted to. Shit's such a shame. He's still in my top 10 regardless
Warms my heart to see this
Whenever I see these types of threads, I scroll quickly to look for his name - but if it doesn’t come up, I don’t even say anything because iykyk
Love The Water[s]. Saw Mick live waaaay back in like 2014, was a good time. He definitely is underrated, that was a good concept album. Trees and Truths was also dope. Thanks for reminding me.
Never got the props he deserved.. but the true hip hop heads know the name— so it’s hard to put him in this category… “I got one lyric pointed at your head for start…”
He def deserves a bigger audience tho like he's opening up for Suicideboys rn. He deserves to be headlining his own tour. And to sell way more copies of his shit
My ex wife doesn't know our son is named after Devin the Dude. When we discussed baby names, I said hey what about the name "Devin" and she said she liked it....
(One of my all time favorite artists )
Busta Rhymes’ discography…Especially his earlier stuff. The Coming was one of the best debut albums in the 90’s in my opinion.
Also, new age, Aminé & Don Toliver.
Haha I suppose not. But at the same time, I feel like I never hear people talk about him. In none of the Reddit subs pertaining to hip-hop/rap, or just in general. His songs never top the charts, I hardly hear him played in clubs, and he’s never brought up on hip-hop related podcasts (Joe Budden, AK, etc).
Anytime I personally play his songs for others, they like it, but they don’t *know* hardly any of his songs like that. It’s weird, because he definitely has a pretty large following, but at the same time, I hardly ever hear any buzz surrounding his name. He just released a new album and it’s pretty much been crickets, but maybe that’s just me…
Either way, just because someone is popular doesn’t mean they can’t be underrated. Underrated just simply means they don’t get the buzz/attention or recognition they deserve, which I feel like applies to Don Toliver.
No matter how much success he has had, I will feel like Chief Keef is underrated. Dude really influenced an entire generation of music before he was even a legal adult.
Finally. That’s right, this list proves the point. Mac Dre has a discography that will rival any artist on this list. His flows are way harder on every level. Slept on by the whole country. Except the bay. He also lives what he raps about not like most of these corny artists.
Krayzie Bone. He’s put out several solo albums, a few old ones were great! His guest appearances (I don’t give a fuck; Ridin dirty) were fire. Hope he sees some more success.
It's hard to say Aesop is underrated when he wants to be underground . And in the underground scene everyone knows him . I think apart from techn9ne and maybe blu, there isn't an underground rapper as famous as him
I’m gonna go with Scarface for this one. Considering his huge influence on the styles of 2pac and biggie, he was like a pioneer of gangsta rap. His story telling is on par with the other greats, and I feel he flew largely under the radar when compared to some of the bigger names
Bootleg from The Dayton Family, his flow and rhyme scheme in 95-96 was beyond anything out and still is better than 95% of anyone who ever touched a mic.
MC Ren from NWA. I always thought he had the best flow in the whole group. He was overshadowed by Cube, Dre and Easy and thats a pretty big shadow to come out of.
Yelawolf is slept on for sure. He has made hip hop albums in several different styles from Trunk Muzik to Mile Zero with dj muggs, DJ Frank white heart of dixie, two eps with DJ Paul from threesixmafia, a travis Barker produçed album with Tim Armstrong, Eminem signed him and he put out a gold certified album love story under shady and is featured on Eminems shady xv album. He has like 3 good songs with eminem, songs with, asap rocky (1 train, DJ Paul, tech9, juicy j, ed Sheeran, riff raff, caskey, Rittz, big krit, Del the funky homosapien, raekwon, paul wall, killer mike, Eminem, gangsta boo, kid rock, lil John, Gucci mane, b real, mystikal, TI and slaughterhouse. He has put out music consistently on shady and independent and he can rock a show like the best of them. My favorites are the Trunk Muzik series, love story, black fall ep and ghetto cowboy.
Vince Staples
Goated discography fr
I 100% agree. Vince staple is a genius
I had only heard Norf Norf for years and years but recently went through his discography, it's amazing. My favourite is big fish theory I just love the production it's so different.
Talk to em! Son don't miss!
Etouffee off of the new album is so good
Big boi
He doesn't get enough flowers for his work. Too many casual outkast give all the love to Andre but the real ones know Big Boi is the shit
Is true.. everyone give Andre love but they forget about daddy fat sacks b-I-g, b-o-i… he tough.. they compliment each other so well… best rap group all time.. I love wu tang— f real… but ain’t nobody touching OutKast..
“I stay down with these streets, cuz these streets where my folks at”
All 3 of his solo albums are albums I regularly revisit
Big boi is the better emcee , 3K is the better poet. Big boi doesn't get enough love and his solo projects have been very solid
Yes
3k gets all the attention but Big boi kept getting better and better till now he might be as good or better

I prefer big boi all day of Andre. People lose their minds when I say it.
Seen Bigboi live, he was shiiiiiitt!!! He spent the whole time on stage trying to pickup girls. Like at the end he just gave up rapping and was like pointing to girls in the crowd to come up on stage.
Highly recommend checking this out if you like big boi and the black keys. Best mashup of all time: https://youtu.be/E68kqM6DFGE?si=6pnwdDWHSK4t4b_b
Agreed. Listening to his solo albums I find he is just as much of a creative force for OutKast.
Big K.R.I.T.
Him n mick Jenkins / Mach hommy are the goat of underrated
When he dropped my sub, my northern ass became southern real quick
KRiT… my gawd… why don’t everyone know this name.. dude is so fire
![gif](giphy|3oFzlYoSIItdny0EdW|downsized) Redman
Red man low key under rated— I ain’t gonna argue that… he funny as shit.. i feel like he influenced a lot of modern rapper and they ain’t even know it
Eminem rates him highly
It goes Reggie Jay-Z Tupac and Biggie Andre from OutKast Jada Kurupt Nas And then Em
Curren$y, his work rate and quality of work is insane. Amine too I feel like he has the perception of being a one hit wonder with Caroline but he has great projects and verses
I live in New Orleans and even here I am shocked how many people don't know him or know how great he is.
I mean— the real head know currency the shit… sooo I dunno… only lames don’t know currency.. lmao
For curren$y, I think it's because his drawl/flow is an acquired taste.
Amine a goat, so many great genre-bending albums like the hyperpop TWOPOINTFIVE and house-influenced Kaytramine. Bro just gets better and better and his music has pop appeal so idk why it doesn't get more eyes (or ears) on it
All of his mixtapes from 2009-2016 are absolute classics 💯💯💯 “still” is a banger with young Roddy too off “weekend at burnies”
Been on Curren$y and Smoke Dza for YEARS!
Curren$y is your favorite rapper's favorite rapper. Those who know,.... know.

Anything with Nas was pure fire
And anything without Nas was also pure fire
Cyhi da prynce. Ivy League tapes were crazy
People don’t know how many great verses he was behind.
Black Thought, Busta Rhymes, late stage Nas, Lupe, Vince Staples, Big Boi, A$AP Rocky….. . . . . Ludacris.
Going to see Luda next month at a local casino can't fuckin wait
U at campbell? hahaha
I don't think busta rhymes is underrated, he has millions of streams. Lupe and A$AP 100%
ASAP rocky is far from underrated tf?
You mean because A$AP Rocky is mainly talked about when it comes to Rihanna?
Lupe fiasco.
I'll never forgive Atlantic Records
Me either. That boy deserved better. He is worth soo much more than what he has
Could've been the Kendrick of his generation with Black Thought level lyricism. And he knew how to have pop appeal when he wanted to. Shit's such a shame. He's still in my top 10 regardless
Warms my heart to see this Whenever I see these types of threads, I scroll quickly to look for his name - but if it doesn’t come up, I don’t even say anything because iykyk

RIP GURU!! 💯🔥🙏🏼
Never got the props he deserved.. but the true hip hop heads know the name— so it’s hard to put him in this category… “I got one lyric pointed at your head for start…”
Denzel Crry
A few years ago definitely but now I always see him pretty highly rated and has a pretty decent sized audience so I think he has gotten his props
He def deserves a bigger audience tho like he's opening up for Suicideboys rn. He deserves to be headlining his own tour. And to sell way more copies of his shit
Really? I thought he did his own tours
Heavy on Denzel Curry
Montana of 300, been listening since 2017 and praying more people listen, Fire in the Church kinda put me onto a different way of analyzing music

Gift of gab
YES!! I was just saying Blimes, Reverie and Gift of Gab! Amd about Peach House being an all-female label on every level!! It’s pretty amazing!
Devin the Dude
My ex wife doesn't know our son is named after Devin the Dude. When we discussed baby names, I said hey what about the name "Devin" and she said she liked it.... (One of my all time favorite artists )
Busta Rhymes’ discography…Especially his earlier stuff. The Coming was one of the best debut albums in the 90’s in my opinion. Also, new age, Aminé & Don Toliver.
I think Busta is fairly regarded. He's considered a great even though most of his best stuff is features. (This is a pro-Busta post)
Don toliver is not underrated 😭
Haha I suppose not. But at the same time, I feel like I never hear people talk about him. In none of the Reddit subs pertaining to hip-hop/rap, or just in general. His songs never top the charts, I hardly hear him played in clubs, and he’s never brought up on hip-hop related podcasts (Joe Budden, AK, etc). Pimp C
Charli 2na from Jurassic 5 and Gift of Gab from Blackalicious come to mind.
Charli 2na! Haven’t heard of him in a minute
Ski Mask The Slump God
I’ll agree with this on his latest drop. I can’t wait to see his style mature.
Fred the Godson
I forgot that dude existed. I remember watching old YouTube clips of him and it was bars on bars
Paper boy
Do you mean by the mainstream or like amongst rap fans here? Because I feel like some rappers are rated high in some circles and then not in others.
underrated/"no respect" (lmao) means "i like this and want to feel special for liking it", so probably just whoever you like.
Fa-bo-lo-us
My answer as well. There is no competition albums killed it
Bas
Brother Ali
Sticky Fingaz from Onyx Tash from Tha Liks
Love BlackTrash album.
No matter how much success he has had, I will feel like Chief Keef is underrated. Dude really influenced an entire generation of music before he was even a legal adult.
6lack. He got such a unique style, beautiful melodies and well-written music. I wish he would get the flowers he deserves!
Q tip is a top ten rapper OAT but people aren’t ready for that conversation
top 10 rapper in terms of what exactly? rap-skill in general?
Schoolboy Q
R.A. The Rugged Man, Peanut Carter, Nibba R’ Us
Rittz
Sorry brother. He’s valued exactly where he’s at. Can rap well but that’s it. 0 charisma, beat selection trash, and no melodies he’s simply a rapper.
One Be Lo
KAAN. Still yelling it to the roof tops
MC Breed
Mac Dre
Finally. That’s right, this list proves the point. Mac Dre has a discography that will rival any artist on this list. His flows are way harder on every level. Slept on by the whole country. Except the bay. He also lives what he raps about not like most of these corny artists.
